Chapter 3
Alexander`s POV đź’Ą
“She will definitely regret not signing the divorce paper last night” I murmured to myself.
I stood in my chambers my hand crossed at my back, flanked by Mira and Ariel as their eyes were shining with ambition.
"Alexander, we're willing to do whatever it takes to become your Luna," that was Mira's voice.
Ariel nodded in agreement as she walked up to me.
"I want to be by your side, Alpha," she added with a smile on her face.
I returned the smile back, hiding my true intentions only if she knew.
Their eagerness would serve me well and a good way to go. I wonder how Vanessa's expression will be seeing her best friend and her blood sister wanting to be my mate.
But little did they know, they were mere pawns in my game and I am only in to use them to get what I want.
“You may leave now, I will see you both at the grand hall, make sure you dress to your best” I added, discharging the both of them from the room.
With smiles and happiness on their faces they left the room.
After dressing up, before descending to the grand hall, my mother, Patricia, summoned me to her room.
"Alexander, don't fail the plan," she warned immediately I stepped in, her voice low and urgent.
"What about Vanessa?" I asked, knowing what her reply would be.
"She's insignificant," my mom replied. "Focus on securing the pack's future." She added with a strict voice.
“I will ask the maids to dress her up while the guards bring her inside the hall” she added which I nodded to.
But I knew better of what she is saying and that is what I am after.
Vanessa held a secret, one that could change everything.
After the conversation with my mother I left for the grand hall.
The pack gathered below, their faces filled with anticipation as they all awaited my speech. Last night was full of jubilation.
I raised my hands, silencing the murmurs as slowly the murmurs died while all eyes were on me to speak.
"My pack, tonight marks a new era. The Moon Ball ceremony will solidify our unity and strength. As I Alpha Alexander took over the throne of my father, late Alpha Alain" I paused looking around the people gathered.
Their cheers echoed through the hall with numerous applauds.
"But first, I must address a personal matter, which according to the pack each Alpha must have his Luna right before him before the installation” I added with a smile on my face.
Vanessa was led in, caged and radiant in the ceremonial gown she wore.
Gasps echoed through the hall, as all eyes fell on her in the cage. I could hear murmurings of people but I didn't care so I had to stop the noise to continue.
"Vanessa here, my intended mate, has not proven herself rightly to rule with me so I gave her a divorce paper to sign which she refused signing “ I paused as the member's attention was caught. From where she was I could see the disappointment on her face.
The pack murmured, confused but I had to continue.
"I offer her a final chance to prove herself worthy."
I paused, surveying the crowd.
"Tonight, she'll attempt to transform into her wolf form to prove to everyone if she is worth being a Luna even if she is an omega. I Alexander will accept her as my mate." I paused, taking my gaze at Vanessa whose gaze met mine and I smiled.
The pack erupted into cheers, hopeful everyone was expecting her to win this but then.
They didn't know her secret.
Only Mira, Ariel, and I did and if Vanessa could have tried escaping then I will make sure she pays in a hard way by revealing her dark secret to the pack before banishing her.
"If she succeeds," I continued, "she'll become my Luna." I pronounced.
Mira and Ariel exchanged a nervous glance.
"But if she fails..." I paused, my gaze locking onto Vanessa.
"I'll strip her of her title, banish her, and finalize our divorce."
The hall fell silent, the weight of the ultimatum sinking in as everyone wondered why I am taking such a decision when it is clear she will shift.
Mira and Ariel stepped forward, their faces set. I looked at Vanessa, surprised and disappointed, seeing the two people she trusted the most.
"We're willing to stand by your side, Alpha," Mira said, smirking at Vanessa.
Ariel nodded.
"Together, we'll ensure our pack's prosperity while I am Luna." Mira announced while Vanessa's jaw clenched.
I know she won't believe it, her sister stabbing her at the back! Poor Vanessa had she known.
I noticed a flicker of doubt in Ariel's eyes.
Was she starting to question my intentions? She won't dare to!
The pack applauded, unaware of the hidden agenda behind the pronouncement everyone hope was high that she will pass the test
Vanessa's face paled, her eyes pleading for another chance, but I remained resolute.
The game was set in motion, she caused all this by refusing to sign the divorce paper now she will sign them with embarrassment.
As the ceremony began, I sensed a presence lurking in the shadows.
Rafael, my loyal advisor, walked up to me with a sullen face.
"What's your concern, Rafael?" I whispered to him as he approached me.
"Alpha, there's something you should know," he replied, his voice low.
"Vanessa's past...it's not what we thought." He replied with a worried face.
What then?” I asked him with a doubt on my face.
My heart skipped a beat for what he said but then. What secrets did Vanessa hide?
The Moon Ball ceremony continued, but my mind raced with questions. What would Vanessa choose? Or could she be able to shift?
If she does then everything we planned for is wasted.
I gazed at her face this time and she wasn't looking scared but had a smile on her face.
Our eyes met as she smiled, with a nod she made her way to where I stood with Mira and Ariel. I wonder what she is up to but whatever it is she must sign the papers.
Chapter 4 Vanessa's POV 💫“How could Alexander just change suddenly? Now Mira, my sister and Ariel stood by his side?” I murmured to myself with pain written on my heart as I tried hard not to show it.I stood before the pack, my eyes locked on Mira and Ariel, who stood steadfast beside Alexander. The Alpha's gaze pierced through me, his eyes cold and unyielding."How could you?" I whispered, my voice trembling. "You're my sister, my friend." I said to them maybe they will feel remorse for the action they are about to take but then it doesn't seem to move them.Mira's expression remained resolute, she even had a great smile on her face."Vanessa, you know why we can't support you," she paused, whispering to my hearing, her voice firm. "Alexander is our Alpha and I mira will be his Luna soon. We must follow his lead." She poured out to me. I was shocked beyond words, wait did Mira, my sister said that to me? She will accept Alexander, my husband.Ariel nodded in agreement as I turne
Chapter 5 Alpha Gerald's POV“I need to train more, I will be back soon mother” I yelled in a sweet voice at my mother who sat at the dining room waiting for me to join her but then I needed to go train more.“Shit! You mean you won't eat before going? It's noon already Gerald, why don't you wait until tomorrow you start” She advised but I had made up my mind so I needed to leave.“Watch out, I will be back in an hour”.I whispered into her ear, leaving a slight kiss on them before I escaped not wanting her to say any other words.I ventured into the woods, seeking solitude for my noon training. The misty dawn air invigorated my senses as I ran, my paws pounding the earth.Suddenly, a commotion broke the silence making me wonder where those commotion were coming from.Rogues? Where?I could sense where they are but then I wonder whom they are attacking this time.So I followed the sense down to the event.Attacking a lady? Why? What could she be doing here? Maybe she is from my pack a
Vanessa's POV đź’«I placed the steaming dinner plate in front of Alexander, as he took his sit calmly, I was expecting a warm smile or a gentle thank you from him. Instead, his piercing gaze froze me making me feel something was wrong somewhere."Alexander, what's wrong?" I asked him with concern etched on my face as I seek for reply. I knew something was wrong with him but couldn't place my hand at what was wrong. He pushed back from the table, his chair scraping against the floor while he stood up from the sit."Nothing's wrong, Vanessa," he spat dipping his hand in his pocket while I stare at his face with worries, his voice dripping with venom and I know he wasn't fine. "Everything's perfectly right." He added smiling at me but those smiles I didn't trust.Confusion swirled within me as he snatched a paper from his pocket and flung it at me, at first I took my gaze at him and then to the piece of sheet in my front. Was it a letter related to the mate celebration tomorrow? Or he
Chapter 2Vanessa's POV đź’«I stared at the divorce papers again this time with pain all written on my face, the thought of Mrs. Patricia, Alexander's mother, could also support him on this baffles me. My heart was heavy with sorrow, the weight of Alexander's rejection crushing me hardly.Alexander's words still echoed in my mind, each syllable a dagger to my soul leaving nothing but pain."You're not worthy of being my mate...because you're not fully werewolf and will never be!"The sting of his rejection lingered, leaving a festering wound that refused to heal in my heart each time I proceeded his words! But I refused to give up, or accept such when it was clear our installation as the Alpha and Luna will be tomorrow.I wouldn't sign those papers, not me Vanessa doing this.
