Chapter 4
Vanessa's POV đź’«
“How could Alexander just change suddenly? Now Mira, my sister and Ariel stood by his side?” I murmured to myself with pain written on my heart as I tried hard not to show it.
I stood before the pack, my eyes locked on Mira and Ariel, who stood steadfast beside Alexander. The Alpha's gaze pierced through me, his eyes cold and unyielding.
"How could you?" I whispered, my voice trembling. "You're my sister, my friend." I said to them maybe they will feel remorse for the action they are about to take but then it doesn't seem to move them.
Mira's expression remained resolute, she even had a great smile on her face.
"Vanessa, you know why we can't support you," she paused, whispering to my hearing, her voice firm. "Alexander is our Alpha and I mira will be his Luna soon. We must follow his lead." She poured out to me.
I was shocked beyond words, wait did Mira, my sister said that to me? She will accept Alexander, my husband.
Ariel nodded in agreement as I turned my gaze at her to know what her reply was.
Could Mira and Ariel ever want to do this to me or was manipulated to do so by Mrs. Patricia?
"You've brought shame to our pack, Vanessa and you are too worthless to be a Luna," she added, her voice dripping with disdain.
I felt so many arrows hitting me badly as she said so.
I felt a pang of sorrow, my heart heavy with betrayal. I tried to shift, to let my wolf's fury unleash, but I couldn't.
I wanted to prove to them I wasn't weak but all attempts were abortion so Alexander commanded me to be dragged back.
"You will not shift," he growled, his voice echoing through the gathering, gaining everyone's attention.
"You know you can't so why waste the time. You will face the consequences of your actions." He added.
From where I knee, I could hear the pack's murmurs grow louder, their words cutting deep into me. I felt I wasn't and shouldn't be expressing this.
"How could she not shift, is she not a traitor.?" I heard one old wolf say to another where he sat with his face blurring at me.
"Disloyal and unacceptable to be Luna!." A voice screamed, reaching to my hearing. Mira laughed out loud.
"Abomination, how could she not shift, this is forbidden" another wolf said.
Alexander's eyes flashed with anger written on them.
He walked from the stadium, standing legally, he spoke up on the microphone. I know what he wants to say.
I wished I could perform magic and transform just now, I love Alexander.
“I, Alpha Alexander reject you Vanessa Smith as my mate and wife” he pronounced, sending more hateful speech from all angles.
Tears dropped down my face, how all this is happening to me in an eye twerk is unbelievable.
How could I have believed Mira, the only sister I have and cared for, would want to betray me, even Ariel. Is that how friendship works!
Who knows if Mira and Ariel could have not corrupted Alexander's mind into hating me. The once loveable man turns out to be the devil I never expected to see.
"Vanessa, you are no longer part of this pack. You will be wiped from our records. Sign this paper, acknowledging your banishment and my rejection towards you" he added walking up to me where I kneeled.
A guard thrust the document into my hands, his grip tightening as I hesitated.
With a heavy heart, I raised my eyes to Alexander, then Mira and Ariel. Each of them having a smile on their faces. I signed.
My eyes went in search of Elara but I couldn't find her around. My mind flashed that she meant to be at the garden when she asked me to meet her but how do I want to do that?
I know she has an important thing to reveal to me about but then it seems I can't meet with her again, Alexander will never let such happen.
As I looked up, Alexander took Mira's hand, his eyes locking onto hers. Making each of the bonds I had with him crack, I felt pain escaping my lips.
I closed my eyes tight, grabbing the pen as I signed the divorce paper. I have accepted my fate.
"By the power vested in me, I, Alpha Alexander, mate you, Mira Smith, as my Luna and you Ariel as one of my wives," he declared, his voice ringing through the pack. I felt my heartbeat stopped.
The most horrible betrayal to witness, the three people you trust betray you.
If life was based on trust, I would rather die than trusting anyone ever again.
Mira's eyes sparkled as Alexander's mark appeared on her forehead. Members of the packs kept clapping as Mrs.Patricia walked up to Mira and kissed her forehead.
I watched, my heart shattering into a million pieces.
As the pack celebrated, I turned to leave, but Alexander's voice stopped me.
"Remember, Vanessa, you are no longer one of us. You are nothing." He said , A strict voice.
Why should I think of returning? Here? No, never will I return to see the faces that betrayed me. The faces that had left an uncleared mark on me but then if I were to return, I Vanessa will make them all pay for this tears that drop for tagging price on my trust.
Wolf or no wolf, I remain Vanessa Smith.
I walked away, the pack's jeers and laughter echoing behind me but I had to ignore them all.
As I stepped beyond the pack's borders, a snarl echoed through the darkness.
Rogues.
They surrounded me, their eyes glowing in the night.
I tried to defend myself, but they were too strong.
A searing pain ripped through my arm as teeth sank deep.
Everything went black.
When I came to, I lay on unfamiliar ground, my arm throbbing in agony.
A stranger's face hovered above me, his eyes filled with concern.
"Who are you?" I whispered with fear it might be the rogues or probably Alexander sent his men to murder me.
The stranger's smile was gentle.
"My name is Gerald. You're safe now young lady." He replied with a smile on his face.
But I knew I wasn't safe. No now but I wished to trust him but then I remembered I am suffering now because I once trusted.
Not from the rogues.
Not from Alexander.
Not from my own broken heart, But I am determined never to expose who I am to him !
Chapter 5 Alpha Gerald's POV“I need to train more, I will be back soon mother” I yelled in a sweet voice at my mother who sat at the dining room waiting for me to join her but then I needed to go train more.“Shit! You mean you won't eat before going? It's noon already Gerald, why don't you wait until tomorrow you start” She advised but I had made up my mind so I needed to leave.“Watch out, I will be back in an hour”.I whispered into her ear, leaving a slight kiss on them before I escaped not wanting her to say any other words.I ventured into the woods, seeking solitude for my noon training. The misty dawn air invigorated my senses as I ran, my paws pounding the earth.Suddenly, a commotion broke the silence making me wonder where those commotion were coming from.Rogues? Where?I could sense where they are but then I wonder whom they are attacking this time.So I followed the sense down to the event.Attacking a lady? Why? What could she be doing here? Maybe she is from my pack a
Vanessa's POV đź’«I placed the steaming dinner plate in front of Alexander, as he took his sit calmly, I was expecting a warm smile or a gentle thank you from him. Instead, his piercing gaze froze me making me feel something was wrong somewhere."Alexander, what's wrong?" I asked him with concern etched on my face as I seek for reply. I knew something was wrong with him but couldn't place my hand at what was wrong. He pushed back from the table, his chair scraping against the floor while he stood up from the sit."Nothing's wrong, Vanessa," he spat dipping his hand in his pocket while I stare at his face with worries, his voice dripping with venom and I know he wasn't fine. "Everything's perfectly right." He added smiling at me but those smiles I didn't trust.Confusion swirled within me as he snatched a paper from his pocket and flung it at me, at first I took my gaze at him and then to the piece of sheet in my front. Was it a letter related to the mate celebration tomorrow? Or he
Chapter 2Vanessa's POV đź’«I stared at the divorce papers again this time with pain all written on my face, the thought of Mrs. Patricia, Alexander's mother, could also support him on this baffles me. My heart was heavy with sorrow, the weight of Alexander's rejection crushing me hardly.Alexander's words still echoed in my mind, each syllable a dagger to my soul leaving nothing but pain."You're not worthy of being my mate...because you're not fully werewolf and will never be!"The sting of his rejection lingered, leaving a festering wound that refused to heal in my heart each time I proceeded his words! But I refused to give up, or accept such when it was clear our installation as the Alpha and Luna will be tomorrow.I wouldn't sign those papers, not me Vanessa doing this. I won't! Not yet.Not until I understood why he decided to serve me this paper with just a word he hated me.Why did he suddenly change, someone who had always loved and cherished me a lot now hates me? It can'
Chapter 3 Alexander`s POV 💥“She will definitely regret not signing the divorce paper last night” I murmured to myself.I stood in my chambers my hand crossed at my back, flanked by Mira and Ariel as their eyes were shining with ambition."Alexander, we're willing to do whatever it takes to become your Luna," that was Mira's voice.Ariel nodded in agreement as she walked up to me."I want to be by your side, Alpha," she added with a smile on her face.I returned the smile back, hiding my true intentions only if she knew.Their eagerness would serve me well and a good way to go. I wonder how Vanessa's expression will be seeing her best friend and her blood sister wanting to be my mate. But little did they know, they were mere pawns in my game and I am only in to use them to get what I want.“You may leave now, I will see you both at the grand hall, make sure you dress to your best” I added, discharging the both of them from the room. With smiles and happiness on their faces they lef
