Chapter ninety nine

Meanwhile, back at the detention facility.

The guard at the station walks to the cell where James and his accomplices are being kept. “James Smith, you have a phone call.” The guard announced and opened the cell door for James to step out, and he locked it back.

James didn't look good at all; the men he hired had turned on him, and every night in the cell, they all took turns beating him up.

The guard escorted James down to where he would take the phone call and then he took two steps back.

“Hello.” James said, his voice was hoarse and low.

“James, is that you?” Mr. Smith asked on the other side of the phone.

“Father.” James couldn't believe it, his first night here, he tried calling his father with his one phone call but his father didn't pick up.
