Chapter 103

Anna had not seen Dylan since he went up to his office; even after Lucas left, she thought he would come down and join her, but he didn't.

So she spent the day playing with Emma and avoiding her mother's calls; she would call her once they were back in the States; if her father was dying, she had half a mind not to go at all, but another part of her wanted to. She wanted to talk it over with Dylan, but he had enough on his plate.

Something was going in the garden, but she didn't pay attention to it, Emma was currently sleeping and Anna was tired of waiting for Dylan to come down so she decided to go up to her room and curl up with a book.

She got to her room, took out her Kindle and lay on her bed. She was currently on page fifty of the book she was reading when there was a knock on her door. Anna looked up from her book and out her window and saw that the sun had gone down and that it was starting to get dark.
