Chapter One Hundred-Twenty Six

Aidan arrived at the Everhardt mansion in no time and was contemplating how to take Gina into the house when her phone rang. He took it out from her purse and saw her mother, Hana, calling. He answered it.

"Hello?" he said. “I'm Aidan."

"Aidan? Who is this?" Hana's voice was filled with concern and a hint of irritation. "Where is Gina? It’s almost midnight, and she’s not back yet."

Aidan explained the situation. "I found her at a bar, quite drunk. I’ve brought her home. We’re outside the Everhardt mansion."

There was a brief pause before Hana responded, "Wait there. I’ll be out in a moment."

After a few minutes, Hana emerged from the house, her expression a mix of worry and frustration. Aidan stepped forward, showing her Gina, who was slumped over in the back seat.

Hana gasped and then looked at Aidan suspiciously. "Who are you?"

He introduced himself. "I’m Aidan Algernon, Karina's ex-husband. I found Gina at the bar and thought it best to bring her home."
