Sophie looked concerned but nodded. "Okay, Mommy."

Karina thanked Phoebe for spending the night. "I really appreciate you being here, Phoebe."

Phoebe waved it off. "No problem at all. I’m glad to help."

Karina’s phone rang, and she glanced at the screen, seeing Aidan’s name. She almost swore aloud but caught herself. "I’ll just go freshen up. Join you both in a bit."
