Chapter 2 A Fated Encounter.

Eight years later. At Kurenia Hospital.

“Thank you all for taking time from your busy schedule to attend this meeting. " The Hospital Director Arthur announced as his gaze wandered the faces of all the top doctors and nurses sitting in the room. "It's my honor to announce that our hospital will be getting a new addition to the surgical team today."

"Everyone, please give warm applause for Doctor Amelie Arnuad!”

Immediately, the whole room filled up with whispers and uproar.

“Am I dreaming? Did the director just say that Amelie Arnuad would be joining us?” One doctor asked.

“No way! Amelie Arnaud? The genius doctor who studied medicine for less than three years? I heard that she was the best doctor in the whole of Britain!” Chipped the nurse who sat beside him.

Everyone in the room was whispering and talking all about this new colleague. The Rising Star in Medicine, who had emerged five years ago after studying medicine for three years. Her skills far surp*ssed those of doctors who had studied at the best Ivy university for years.

Her talents were so good that people called her the Miracle Doctor because she was able to handle any and every life-threatening situation without breaking a sweat.

Hospitals all over the Globe fought for the chance to have such a prestige doctor working in their hospital.

Arthur watched the whole room with an amused smile and then, his gaze turned towards the door as it opened and Amelie walked in, silencing the entire room.

The woman was dressed in a neatly ironed white lab coat. Her wavy long auburn hair rested gently just above her waist and her skin was as fair and flawless as freshly fallen snow, while her rosy pink lips formed into a smile. Her facial features were so beautiful that it made her almost like a goddess.

“Doctor Amelie Arnaud,” said a nurse in a hushed voice. “It’s her, it really is her!”

“I’ve never seen a doctor this beautiful, and she also looks very young,” added a male doctor who stared at Amelie with eyes that shone with interest.

“Her skin is flawless, her face looks as if it was carved by god and her body is perfectly shaped.” Said the head nurse of the surgery department, who had been watching the commotion going on, with a smile.

Amelie’s gaze wandered the whole room, making eye contact with the people that stared at her. She was no longer the timid girl she had been eight years ago. She had grown used to the feeling of being stared at.

The old Amelie already died after her stepmother and stepsister dumped her into the river eight years ago.

Now, she was the new version of Amelie who was not afraid of anyone.

“Hello everyone, nice to meet you all. I’ll be working with you all from now on, please take care of me.” Amelie finished her short speech, bowing at the end while the doctors and nurses awarded her loud applause.

After the meeting, Amelie threw herself into her work quickly. The sooner she finished her work, the sooner she could go home to her beloved babies.

That wrong night eight years ago was her nightmare which changed her life forever. But she had to admit that God had given her the most precious gift of her life in return.

Amelie was found pregnant after being saved.

She had thought of abortion at first but the moment she heard their heartbeat, she cried hard as she realized the babies were the only families she could have in the world. She was worried about her choice but all the doubt lifted when she saw their little faces for the first time.

Her lovely twins became the light of her darkest time.

She had grown fast for the past 8 years and that's all for giving her babies the best life.

Clearing her mind, she walked to the Head Director Arthur who had told her there would be an important patient for her today.

“Director, I've read through the patient file you emailed me last night but there aren't enough details. Why is that?”

“Ah, you see, this patient of ours is kind of…special. Unfortunately, we can’t give out too many details when p*ssing out reports.”

“Special?” Amelie asked with a slight tilt of her head.

“It’s hard to explain,” Arthur said with a sigh. “How about I introduce you both since you two are already here? It would make working together easier, yes?” He suggested.

Amelie smiled and nodded her head. “Of course, I’d deeply appreciate that.”

“Alright. I just need to attend to something briefly, he’s currently undergoing some examinations, I’ll be sure to bring him along, so please head to my office and wait.”

“Would that be alright?” Amelie asked.

“Of course.” Arthur immediately insisted and gave her directions towards his office before bidding her goodbye for the time being and walking off in the opposite direction.

Amelie wasted no time and turned around in her tracks, heading in the direction Arthur had given her. However, just before she could reach Arthur’s office, the sound of something falling from a room caught her attention. Amelie froze in her steps and glanced in the direction of the room that read Scan Room.

“What was that?” She questioned herself, hesitant at first but eventually moving towards the door.

“Hello? Is anyone in there?” She asked once she stood in front of the room.

Her question was answered with total silence.

Amelie creased her brows. She was sure she had heard the sound of something falling from inside this room. Had it just been a rat? Or had someone perhaps fallen? Fainted?!

Amelie felt the too-good doctor inside of her act up.

“Is anyone in there? Are you hurt?” She asked once more.

There was no reply again, and the only thing that answered her was the silence. She frowned slightly and reached for the doorknob, turning it and opening the door.

The room looked dark and she hesitated at first, however, the moment she stepped in, the door was harshly shut behind her and her body shoved towards it.

“Wha-“ She couldn’t finish her sentence before her voice was cut off by a hand pressed above her mouth, shutting her up.

“Shut up.” The person holding her captive hissed and before she could protest or fight to protest, she heard the man groan in pain.

Her doctor instinct tingled and she quickly freed her mouth. “Sir? Is everything alright? Are you in pain? Where does it hurt? Tell me, I’ll help you.” She rapidly questioned.

“I said KEEP QUIET!” The man growled out but then grunted in pain again.

“Sir, tell me what’s wrong.” Amelie urged again. Although she felt slightly intimidated by the man’s fierce aura, she couldn’t stand by and watch a patient suffer in pain, thus, her doctor instinct overpowered her rational thinking.

“Sir, please tell me what’s wrong so that I can help you. You seem to be in a lot of pain, please-“ Before she could finish her sentence, the man’s body suddenly slumped forward, resulting in their bodies being pressed together and his face resting on her neck.

Amelie immediately freaked out as memories from eight years ago suddenly flashed in her mind and she suddenly wanted nothing more than to get out of this uncomfortable position.

“Sir, this is too much. Please get a hold of yourself right this instance or else I’d be forced to call security!”

Amelie warned sternly. However, her warning fell on a deaf ear, and in a blur of events, the man suddenly turned his face to the side and captured her lips with his.

Amelie was frozen with shock. That is until she felt the man bite down harshly on her lower lip and a strange feeling shot through her!
