NINA'S POV:

THAT MORNING:

I drove back to the mansion with tears rolling down my cheeks. I was so sad that I had almost called one of the few men who were still interested in me, he was a middle class man who promised to provide me with the bare minimum. He was also not a good looking man but he wasn't ugly, he had nothing that could be attractive to a woman of my standards. The minute I tried to picture a life with him, I saw struggles and hardship all the way with my mother as a jest. It was so horrible that I wanted to punish myself for even thinking about it.

I thought about going to see Mrs Anderson but I just wanted to speak to my mother and seek her advice. I knew a life without Ross was a life of pain, humiliation and sadness, so I knew there was no such thing as giving up on him. My action today was simply a tactic I hoped will work in making him feel bad, and come to me at least just this one time.

As I arrived in the quiet almost empty mansion, I sniffled and cleaned my eye

NINA'S POV:“Hello? Are you still there?” Ross asked and I quickly responded, “Yes!” I mentally cursed myself from showing how excited I was so I cleared my throat before speaking again.“Yes. I appreciate you for apologizing. I just want you to know that everything I do is tailored to just show you how much I love you and how I always want no one aside from you. I know you aren't interested because of the past, but maybe we can at least start on a clean slate and try to make things work? You don't have to reply right now, we will just take things at a time.” My voice was so soft, I had read that I needed to tap into my feminine energy more in order to get a real man like Ross.Though literally asking him out wasn't me tapping into my feminine energy at least my soft voice, pretty outlook and acting like a cute child should help. Right? “We will take things at a time. I have to go now, we will talk later.” My heart smiled and I was about to say Goodbye but he had already hung up. I

TERRA'S POV:THREE WEEKS LATER:The past few weeks have been extremely exhausting and I have been so occupied with work and soughting out the scandal at the company meeting with persons, teams, board members, and shareholders. Tomorrow, however, was going to be a big day which I had taken a lot of things into consideration before accepting to do it. It was the most crucial agenda which would serve as a huge determinant. There was a press conference in which I, as the Chair Lady of the Williams company, would be addressing all pressing matters. According to the Marketing and Sales Chief Executive Officer, it would be great for the brand. I was skeptical about Ross and any of the Andersons seeing the news but I needed to put the business of my Grandfather first before anything, I owe him that much and the effect I hoped this interview will have, my kids and I will be able to return back home cutting the trip short which I suspected they would like at all. They had been going to a schoo

TERRA'S POV:A memory soon crossed my mind of when they were younger, at least two years back, when they had to go out with Grandpa Philip since he was in the country but they wouldn't go anywhere unless I was there with them. They had grown so much and their teenage years scared me.“Girl, come on. You look like you are about to cry.” Evelyn joked and I chuckled following her in the house.*******About five minutes after we got back inside the house, a bunch of masseuses arrived and Evelyn instructed me to go change and she had already prepared a robe for me. I grinned in excitement and surprise and went ahead to change. By the time I arrived back, they had already set up everything in the living room and all I had to do was lay down and get ready to enjoy myself.Evelyn was truly the best, food was getting prepared and the aroma filled the air.“Hmmmm…That was so relaxing.” I heaved out a breath, tying my robe after they were done. I always felt so sleepy every time I got a full bo

TERRA'S POV:THAT SAME DAY:“Evelyn, who is she?” I asked again, folding my arms across my chest. It bothered me so much that the guest knew me as both Terra and Catherine, and it annoyed me further that I had no idea who she was and Evelyn had most likely told her about my entire life though it seemed unlike her.“She's so different now, and I am too. I know I look nothing like how I looked in the past. Long blonde hair, pretty dresses…” The guest listed and Evelyn stood beside her laughing.“An actually girly girl with the perfect body every guy wanted and girls envied.” Evelyn described and I just stared at the two of them before just gazing intently at her guest, trying to picture her that way as she looked like a stud right now, a tomboy.I continued looking at her face and she was starting to look familiar. She flashed me a pretty smile, “Hi Terra, my name is Whitney Dia. Your childhood friend who left in junior year of high school.”As soon as she introduced herself, her past i

Because I doubt it was just a coincidence we came across each other at the mall that day.” Evelyn was becoming irritated by the tone in her voice and Whitney could sense a shift in mood so she suspended her eating and turned towards us.“Hold on, James Lauder was simply a gateway for me to meet you two, my childhood friends again. This isn't strategic, stalking crap. Believe it or not, Evelyn it was a coincidence we met that day at the mall. And Terra, I realized your identity had changed which is why I stayed back from introducing myself and even approaching you. I mean no harm, I returned back to Salandi to start my life afresh and start my own company. I'm not after you guys for anyth

I decided why not, I changed into a sport's outfit which was a cute gray matching fit and I put on my Nike Tech sneakers. Before heading out, I stepped into the kid's room and smiled seeing them sleeping peacefully. I placed a kiss on Eric's forehead.I plugged my airpods in my ears and played one of my favorite songs that gets me ready for the day, then I exited out of the house, smiling in response to the greetings from the staff.I felt so free with each step I took as I jogged, I wasn't thinking of anything, not the interview, not my companies, not even my kids, the cool air breeze was so relaxing and peaceful and it seemed to blow every thought of negativity away.I arrived at the park and continued jogging along the partway

TERRA'S POV:AN HOUR LATER:It had been an hour and thirty minutes to my press conference. Fiona had still not reported back to the office nor was she picking up. Since I knew Vale would most likely be good in tech and finding out things, I requested that he helped me locate her. I was seated in my office looking at my screen blinking repeatedly. “She is staying in the LUXURIOUS Anderson hotels, which everyone dreams of going to. And I saw she went out with one of Mr Ross Anderson's bodyguards and I don't blame her, he is a sight for sore eyes…” Vale was speaking but I wasn't listening as other things lingered in my mind and my heart jumped at his name.“Thank you Vale.” I cut him off looking around, turning in my seat. He bowed and then exited out of my office. My substitute assistant, Jill, entered the office after knocking and informed me, “Ma'am, everything is set for the conference. TERRA'S POV:THREE MONTHS LATER:“How busy are you? ‘Cause I was thinking we can go out for lunch so I can make it up to you.” Ross suggested, and I rolled my eyes playfully at him. He knew I was mad at him for him being mad at me for worrying too much and stressing out about the kids as it was their first day at a new school. It had just been hard since the welcome party and literally settling in Salandi was hard for me in a way that it was hard for the kids.“I'm actually extremely busy right now, and I will be heading to Nina's trial as today is the sentencing. Later tonight?” I suggested and he heaved out a sigh, obviously displeased at the fact that I was headed to Nina's trial but I needed to be there. I just had the need.
