Carlo pulled away from Alira, but his hand was like a vise around her throat.

His eyes were like hot coals, gone was the moment of euphoria of having finally found his mate. Instead, he now saw a potential criminal who had done serious harm to his family.

Everyone in the living room jumped to their feet as Clyde and Jace surrounded the couple.

"Alira, you better come clean. There are two of the strongest Lycans among us, and I cannot stand alone to protect you. The best thing you can do at this moment is to confess," Jace dryly suggested to the woman. "We already know that Sybille has something to do with this. Now we want to know what your part is. And make no mistake, nobody here is in the mood for games."

The woman swallowed several times and looked anxiously at her mate. But Carlo's priority was his brother, the mate bond was less important to the throne now.

"Yes, the closer you are to the truth, the better for you. I am your mate, but my feelings are secondary to those of the Cr

Joanna's Point Of ViewThe more I listened to the Alpha, the clearer it became that he had no plans of releasing me any time soon. His resolute gaze and commanding presence made that abundantly evident. I needed a different approach, perhaps earning his trust would grant me some freedom here. Being confined to that room for days felt like torture and was ultimately futile. Meanwhile, Clyde must have been consumed by grief, I couldn't help but wonder if he already knew the truth. I held back my anger and turned the Alpha."Is my husband aware that I'm here?" His eyes flickered darkly and his face tightened. it was clear he didn't like my question."If you're referring to your human lover, not yet. However, that will soon change as we’re in the process of annulling your marriage. It’s a mistake you need to correct promptly," he growled. "Besides, you won’t see him again; your life is with me now."Frowning, I lowered my gaze to my hands. This Alpha truly believed he coul

Alpha Abel’s Point Of View Seeing Joanna doubt her human lover was the beginning of his end.Liars never won a game, and my mate was very susceptible to this kind of slip-up. She clearly came from a sheltered environment where deception was highly charged. The various emotions on her face did not bode well for the man. Good for me."Oh well, it didn't matter. Sybille was an ordinary werewolf, maybe she wasn't completely related to the man," I explained. “And there were still werewolves running around who had at least one human parent.” Of course, I knew that Sybille was a full-blooded werewolf and probably a pure one at that. But I used this opportunity to win my mate over as if I wished the man no harm.In the meantime, Eric was keeping an eye on the family, and now that he was back in contact with Sybille, we would know what steps they would take to get Joanna back. I was not worried about the police overseas, they had no jurisdiction in America. And by the time Jo

Still Alpha Abel’s Point Of ViewAs I assisted Joanna out of the vehicle, I closed the door behind her and gently pressed her against the hood. Her body felt so warm, enough to heat up the little space between us.I closed my eyes for a few seconds to savor the heavenly sensation my mate was instilling in me. Tilting her chin upwards, my thumb traced over her bottom lip. She trembled at our touch and slowly raised her gaze to meet mine, her gray eyes were truly captivating beyond compare. That unforgettable night, I had barely taken the time to study them. Yet now, with them so near, I realized my life would feel incomplete without their presence. But there was no chance of me losing out on this, they belonged to me and I intended to immerse myself in their essence for the rest of my days."You are beautiful," I murmured against her lips. "Please give us a chance, and I'll make amends for the way I brought you here and those long, lonely hours in that room. I had to keep you isolated

Still Alpha Abel’s Point Of View"Alpha, there was a board meeting tonight. The stakeholders of the Merimen Trust Fund had requested an explanation about a transfer of two million dollars to an offshore investment company outside of America. They thought it was highly suspicious."Elena, my private Secretary, bumped into me as I entered the packhouse with Joanna. Her eyes were glowing red, something serious was definitely going on here. My Secretary was usually very level-headed and confident. The few times I had seen her in this state, Woodland Investment had been on the verge of losing hundreds of millions."Calm down. Let's go into my office and talk about this. How much time do we have before the meeting?" We walked quickly to my office, I pulled Joanna along with me."About four hours. That's not much. Do you know anything about the transfer? I don't." I sat down behind my desk and settled my mate on my lap. Fortunately, she didn't protest and I could concentrate

Joanna's Point Of ViewLost in thought, I turned and walked into the apartment. The events of the last hour passed me by.The Alpha! My desperate reaction to his kiss was uncommon. I acknowledged that there was an undeniable attraction between us, but it was more of a sexual nature. It was nothing compared to what I felt for Clyde. Damn it, and I am still a married woman. And then his comments about his wolf buzzed through my head. Had I really had sex with an animal that night? According to him, he and his wolf took turns on me. Holy goodness! How hadn't I noticed any of this? This was unthinkable.Of course, at that moment I was in ecstasy, forgetting everything around me because of the infinite pleasure he was giving me. It was as if I had entered another world where only he and I existed and all that mattered was to satisfy our passion. It was sex and nothing else. Ordinary animal lust. But a few minutes ago in his office, we had a different experience. It turned out that we had o

Joanna's Point Of View"Miss, we know you were awake. Just open your eyes. Don't you want to know what happened to you?"The voice was soft and breathy, but unmistakably male. I slowly opened one eye to see two men looking at me in amusement. One of them had a black top and the other one was a deep blond. Both were solidly built, just under the bulky models on the covers of the sports magazines.Yes, it was decidedly childish of me to close my eyes again under the watchful eyes of the men next to my bed. With a slight smile, I opened both eyes."Yes, please. What am I doing here in the hospital? I remember being involved in a collision and being thrown from the back of the vehicle," I answered quietly. "But there were other people in the car. How did they fare?"The men turned to each other in surprise."No, there was no one else when we found you. We discovered you in the ravine in a creek. Luckily, the water level was low enough not to suffocate you," the handsome black-haired one a

Joanna's Point Of View StillGoodness gracious!I had hoped that Mr. Handsome was blessed with some brains as well. Nothing was more frustrating than to engage with a strikingly attractive man, only to discover he lacked wit or intellect. The imposing and irritated Alpha before me now had surely overlooked the finer details. "The doctor referred to you as Alpha when he entered, genius," I responded in a tone reminiscent of a kindergarten teacher. I rolled my eyes, which clearly infuriated him. It seemed the Alpha couldn't tolerate having his weaknesses highlighted. "Take it easy, little fish. I dragged you out of the creek yesterday, and today you're talking down to me?" he growled as he took a menacing step towards me. But his intimidating demeanor didn't scare me, I defiantly met his gaze head-on. He looked back at me in bewilderment, probably not used to such insolence. "How did you learn about werewolves? As a human, you weren't supp

Joanna’s Point of ViewAfter some time, I heard the wolves approaching and knew that the moment I had waited for so long had finally arrived.Janice and Alia sat beside me, sipping cold drinks and chatting airily.“Girls,” I whispered to them. “As soon as your mates arrive, I need you to take them from here. I need some private time with my husband. Also, try to get Jace to come with you.”Two pairs of eyebrows shot up, and their eyes stared at me curiously.“What are you up to?” Janice asked, a sly smile playing on her lips. “The expression on your face promises something fierce. Whatever you're planning, make sure we can get out of our hiding soon and face the Alpha. It's time to settle things once and for all.”My sad mood had completely dissipated, my thoughts now laser-focused on my plan.Clyde had given me a hint of his preferences in our intimate moments, and I had carefully considered the options. Now was the time to take action, to get him to want me back. No matter what, I h

Hating to see her like this, she put aside her pride and offered herself to me, fiercely and totally. • Missing: The Woodland's Luna Queen   Chapter 99 – You Have No Right

Three days on the yacht, and we were all having the time of our lives. We jumped and played in the open sea, savored delicious food, watched movies together, chatted, and sunbathed on deck. The men sometimes tried their hand at sport fishing, but so far, there had been no catch, something we women teased them about mercilessly. We had since sailed out of the Hudson River and into the vast expanse of the Atlantic. At the moment, we were bobbing in the open sea, but yesterday, I had spotted a green blur in the distance that looked like an island. We were sunbathing on deck again, me wearing one of those minuscule bikinis I had found in the small closet in my room. Clyde had thoughtfully ensured I had plenty of clothes on board, mostly bikinis and casual wear.Next to me lay Alia and Janice, both also in swimwear, though a lot more decent than mine.Their mates were implacable, they insisted that they cover their bodies completely, despite their fervent protests. I guessed mated wolves

We stared into each other's eyes for a few timeless seconds.I couldn't believe he was finally here, in front of me again. How many nights had I dreamt of this precious moment? I had thought I’d lost him forever, already resigned myself to the inevitable, to a life without him.But here he was, my Prince, my husband!“Clyde,” I whispered, the name a sigh of pure happiness, a feeling so profound it made my heart ache with longing. My eyes, I was sure, reflected all the love I felt for him, a love that had never wavered. For a fleeting moment, I saw a flicker of doubt in his eyes, those beautiful blue gems I could never get enough of. Holy goodness, how I had missed him, his warmth surrounding me, the sense of security he always offered.I wrapped my arms around the magnificent wolf and buried my face in his thick fur. I took a deep breath, mimicking a gesture I had often seen Clyde do to me, and a soothing sense of calmness swept over me. An incredible sensation of belonging and secur

  • Missing: The Woodland's Luna Queen   Chapter 97 – The Alpha or the Crown Prince

Joanna’s Point of ViewPuzzled, I stared from one to the other, my head spinning. This sudden turn of events was completely unexpected, I no longer understood anything what’s happening at the moment.“Someone mind telling me what’s going on here?” I demanded. The warrior stopped the vehicle and turned to me. All three of them - Alia, Janice and Rubio - had their eyes on me now, their expressions stern and unyielding.“Princess, you have to tell us now,” Alia said firmly. “Do you want to be the Luna of Woodland, or do you still choose to be with the Crown Prince? I need your answer now to determine which way we go.”A sudden surge of joy welled up inside me, a feeling that seemed to originate from the very depths of my soul. Was it still possible to go to Clyde? The thought filled me with an overwhelming sense of longing. I wanted nothing more!‘Tell her we want to go to the Crown Prince, Joanna. I'm dying here. We really need to leave,’ the voice inside me urged, startling me with it

Alpha Abel’s Point of ViewA rising unease gripped me as I stared at Ludwina.“Ludwina, where is Joanna? Why aren’t you at the Spa with her? What are you doing here?”I grabbed her arm, trying to control the sudden surge of panic. The premonition I’d carried all day was starting to take shape, solidifying into a tangible fear.Had Joanna left? Had she changed her mind at the last minute? And why hadn’t the guard at the gates notified me?A thousand unsettling thoughts raced through my mind.“Calm down, Alpha,” Ludwina soothed, offering a reassuring smile. “Everything is fine. The Luna has gone to the lake with her friends to relax. A warrior is with them, nothing can go wrong. Let her unwind, I’ll send for her as soon as it’s time. Alpha Abel’s Point of ViewToday was my mating and Joanna's Luna ceremony. But throughout the day, a nagging feeling persisted, a sense that something was amiss, as if this idyllic scene could shatter like a fragile balloon at any moment. It was all too perfect, too good to be true.Joanna had been so agreeable lately, the resistance she had shown upon her return had suddenly vanished. She even initiated our touches, our kisses, as if she had fully accepted our mate bond and was ready to spend her life by my side. But something was definitely not right. Even Hex was suspicious. My Head Warrior and the Beta of Moonlight Seekers ran in their wolf forms beside me, we were on border patrol. I wanted to ensure safety myself tonight, nothing could go wrong, not on this momentous occasion. Still buzzing from our earlier conversation about the upcoming ceremony, we stepped inside the Spa unit. The cheerful atmosphere, however, quickly dissipated as a heavily made-up middle-aged woman approached us, her presence radiating a distinct chill. Her aura was dominating, her smile failing to reach her thickly lined, cold eyes. She was garishly dressed, her intricate gown trailing along the floor like a scene from a historical drama.“You must be Joanna,” she greeted me, her voice laced with a distinctly hostile undertone. “The woman who Alpha Abel brought to the pack.”She paused, her gaze sweeping over me from head to toe, her lips twitching disdainfully.“I'm Lily,” she continued, her tone dripping with condescension. “Your hostess at this Spa. Let me take a good look at you.”She reached out and grabbed my arm with two fingers, as if she was picking up something dirty. Her touch irritated me, violating my personal space.
