Chapter eighteen

I left the mansion by 5pm and I kept wondering why I spent so much time there. Before I left, Gerald had called his managers and other staff to get all I needed ready.

I left the mansion with all the documents and it was going to be a very busy week for me. There was something about me that was always eager to take up challenges.

The entire weekend was work, work for me. Before I slept for five hours, I was already on Monday. I lazily got out of bed and made coffee. In no less than an hour, I was ready to head to the chambers.

I got to the office and realized I had left Gerald’s gun in my briefcase all weekend. I had forgotten to take it over when I visited. I settled in and started my day. The beep from my phone got my attention.

It was almost invisible, I had more than 200 new notifications and I almost didn’t notice. Many were from new clients who wanted me to take up their case. The news of my recent victory had spread like wildfire.
