Chapter Seventeen

Gerald sounded like he was love struck. I refused to believe what I was seeing. Was this an act to probably win me over?. Rubby raised up her head and looked at me with a weak smile.

She waved her hand slightly and left us alone. She walked carefully in her pink dress and makeup till she settled in a shade. She served herself lemonade and sat there staring at us from a distance.

“Harry”, I was caught unaware by Gerald’s strange hug. For the first two seconds I seem lost. For all maturity, I gently tapped his back. “You look taller in shorts,” Gerald laughed. All I could do was smirk.

He led the way and I walked behind him. He gently placed the golf ball and had the first hit. “Harrison, when we were kids, did you know that dad always told me to be gentle with you?”, he asked, moving towards the direction the ball had landed.
