“The operation was successful, however she is not yet out of danger. Something blunt hit her on the head and I am worried about the blood clot that we found on her head. Secondly she was dehydrated and weak, so she has been given an IV drip to help her gain the much needed energy in her body.”

“Can I see her doctor?”

“Yes but one person at a time. Even though she is still unconscious just try to talk to her. It is always good for the patients to hear the voices of their loved one.”

“Please Richard, let me go first, I won’t take much time” Mira was already on the door, she didn’t even wait for his reply.

She knew that the man was unpredictable so that was the only way she could have used to get to see Emily.

When she opened the door to the ICU, Emily was sleeping on the bed with a huge bandage on her skull and one of her legs had a cast on it. She was red and swollen all over, it wouldn’t be easy to recognize the sad but sweet girl she met just a few weeks ago.
