Kazal
A crushing sensation which was enveloping Kazal’s entire body woke the dog merchant up, successfully rendering him into a state of shock as he found himself unable to breathe and blind at the same time. The muscles on his legs contracted a bit when they were unable to move, and found no land to step on.
Overwhelmed by the several troubles that came crashing upon him all at once, Kazal was frantic. His body was about to hyperventilate, however, there was no air for circulation. And he was about to move, but the crushing sensation kept his limbs from doing so.
In the midst of confusion, the first thing that came into mind was gaining air to breathe. Kazal had only two option; one, is to encapsulate himself and compress any existing oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air and circulate it inside the capsule so he could breathe. Or two, shut down his respiratory system temporarily and function his body solely with Mana.
Option one seemed too far-fetched, as Kazal was well informed from a reliable source that there is no molecular oxygen in space. The dog merchant’s gaze was fixed towards a huge spherical globe, the colour green, blue, and white dominates its surface. That huge sphere isn’t what strengthen his belief that he was indeed in space, but the stars around it was what did.
Kazal decided to use option two. While he shut down his respiratory system, he maintained the shape of his lungs and the entirety of the respiratory system with Mana as to prevent its collapse. Then he let the Mana, which was attained from his Mana reserve located at his abdomen, to flow along his blood vessels as a form of nourishment to replace the use of oxygen. Kazal had a limited time when he chose to use option two; as it depends solely on how much Mana he had left. But he was able to break free from the crushing sensation and was able to function like normal again.
Kazal blinked his eyes and this time, calmly surveyed his surroundings. He eyed the huge globe once again, and inspected the myriad of stars around him. He was indeed in space, but how was it possible?
“What the… You are still alive?”
Kazal heard an echo from behind him. His train if thoughts stopped immediately as he shifted his floating body behind him, only to see a presence of what seemed to be a huge bullet magic.
Kazal assumed a defensive stance, bending his body slightly to the front and crossed both of his forearms as a shield. He managed to parry that magic, which turned out to be a slashing attack given its intensity, and the degree of pain he felt in both of his forearm. The dog merchant didn’t have any time to think, as the next attack came as soon as the last one perished.
This time’s attack came off smaller than the first one, and because of that, Kazal was able to catch the presence of the being who was attacking him.
He couldn’t confirm the literal form of the aggressor, but by its size, was it a child that attacked him?
“This is annoying… Just die already!!”
The being shouted. Kazal felt a slight compression in his surroundings, before he saw a bullet magic, one that is bigger than the first attack, speeding up towards him.
Kazal had an inkling that he won’t survive that attack. And as if to make matters worse, his Mana reserve is almost empty, save the fact that he used them the most back when he was protecting the people from the dragons. He might be able to muster all his Mana just to parry that one last attack, but what would become of him after that? He might really die after that due to oxygen depletion. But even if he didn’t do anything and take the bullet magic head on, he would also die. Both options presented the same outcome, just what could Kazal do at this moment?
Out of nowhere, a faint glow of orange light engulfed Kazal’s body, before it gradually brightened up into a blinding light, striking enough to obtain a screeching scream from the aggressor. Kazal covered his eyes to at least lessen the amount of bright light into his eyes, before once again, the surroundings went dark.

Shawn
At the moment, all Shawn could think about was what he could do to shake off his pursuers. The young werewolf was panting and groaning in pain, as he grasped the side of his abdomen, three apparent claw marks managed to tear his thick dark blue coat and cut through his muscles to show his rib cage. Shawn needed an immediate medical treatment, but where could he go when there were more than dozens of pursuers looking for him to reap his life?
Shawn continued his strides to go to other location when he heard someone nearing the back alley he was hiding in. Even moving his legs felt so taxing. Shawn had to fight off his state of anaemia as he had bled off too much from his injury. Despite being in so much pain that most of his body was numb, Shawn was adamant in running away.
It was better running away than to give up and became the prey for his enemies. Shawn knew full well that his pursuers wanted him dead, just like how they wanted all Azul clan people dead. Though, the funny thing was, they still hadn’t given up despite the fall of his clan almost a year ago.
Just how much they wanted him to suffer?
Shawn’s trudging came to a halt when he found a dead end. He was pretty confident in his ways around the neighbourhood as it was near his home, but the light-headedness managed to consume his sense of reason, rendering him to lose his ways.
Suddenly the young boy chuckled.
“…Is this… the end?” His tone was a mix of sadness and lethargy.
Just before he lost his consciousness, he heard the sound of people nearing his location, which sunk his heart a bit, but at the same time, a slight wonder flashed in his mind upon seeing a figure of a soft-coloured being appearing not too far in front of him.
Shawn then fell unconscious.
Phew~ So MK will be uploaded every 4 days. Check out my other series too as they will be updated regularly from now on. Enjoy~ And love you guys ;3
KazalThe first scent that Kazal picked up after he regained his consciousness was a thick scent of blood. There was no sign of it in his sight, but the scent was lingering in the air, as if someone had spilled up a lot of blood nearby. The dog merchant tried to make sense of the situation. For better or for worse, he no longer had to circulate Mana in his body for breathing, nor fumbling for a land to step on. However instead, Kazal felt like his line of sight was shorter than usual. No, not shorter than usual. It was actually very short, the shortest line of sight he had ever experienced, as if he was crouching down or something. It didn’t take long for him to realize what had happened to him when he looked down on himself, to see his hands turn into paws and he was walking on four legs.Kazal froze.“T-This is…” He monologued, while raising his right forelegs and scanned his paws in horror. He had transformed into a dog who walked on four legs. This kind of form was never an imposs
Kazal[Flashback]A loud THUD was heard when that unknown figure fell down in front of Kazal. Once again, the dog merchant fell into a trance when he was served with another unexpected scenario coming his way. What should he do in this situation?Kazal paced in a circular motion as he pondered. He might as well ran away after finding out that the being who had fallen unconscious wasn’t his enemy, but it would leave a bad taste in his mouth if he just leave that person as it be while the person bled to death. The sound of people talking to each other at a distance snapped Kazal out of his pondering. He had to make a quick choice whether to run now or to bring that unknown person with him. Should he or should he not-“I think he’s here.” A voice approached nearer. When the group halted right in front of the entrance of the alleyway, they scanned the hallway as if looking for someone.“…You said that
What could be the cause for those people to chase after him?Was what Kazal pondered about since a while ago. Kazal had eyed Shawn several times since their first encounter and had made several possible scenarios, but he is a scrawny, mild-looking, and gloomy kid. There doesn’t seem to be any redeeming features on him, and to add, the only family members Kazal had seen so far was his uncle named Hans who lived with him. They are a normal family with normal living circumstances. If he were to opt out Shawn’s ability to morph into a wolf beastmen, the young man literally had nothing special in himself, as far as he had known. That being said, the group who pursued him didn’t feel like a normal group. As someone who was an adventurer and also a merchant, Kazal had witnessed people with bloodlust before, and that guy with a scar on one of his eyes had the largest bloodlust he had ever seen since he came into this world. KazalThe dog merchant continued to sit still as he witnessed the curious transformation in front of him. Shawn’s back slowly inflated, as if the muscle system was being rebuilt rapidly. In front of him, existed a being far bigger than Shawn, which Kazal didn’t bode as surprising as this being came into his view first before Shawn did.“Greetings.” Kazal took the liberty to greet the wolf beastmen first. The wolf beastmen’s growl slowly faded, while he looked at Kazal’s beady yellow eyes.“You aren’t a normal dog.” The wolf stated, of what seemed to be plain obvious, while he stabili
“A sapphire worth 3 billion gold?” Kazal’s frows burrowed deeply they almost scrunched his nuzzle. While still wearing that expression of doubt and shock, he stared at Rein, one of his acquaintances in the world of trading who’s sitting in front of him on the stool facing the reception counter.“Isn’t that price a bit too much for a mere sapphire?” Kazal added again. He finished shooting stares at Rein and continued appraising the new batch of jewels he received which is placed on top of the counter in front of him. His eyes squinted a bit while he gazed at one of the green jewels through the monocular.Rein flapped his striped feline ears and sighed. “Aw come on, man. You missed one point there. I told you the jewel is enchanted. That’s why I told you to buy it.”Kazal halted his appraising and heaved a sigh too. “Rein, even if I have the money, 3 billion gold is a no joke, okay? It will hurt me
(One month later…)(Caprice La Veure auction house, Battingham Kingdom)“I… Can’t believe that we are actually here in an auction house. Don’t you think it’s too sudden, Sire?” Miyu pouted as she tilted her head to the side to look at Kazal who was standing beside her. Because of his breed, Kazal is a bit shorter than an average demi human male. All of his vassals, except for Miyu and Rein who are a cait sith, are taller than him. Despite having great skills, Kazal couldn’t really change his height all he wanted, that is probably among one of his weakness too.Kazal chuckled. “What is too fast, Miyu? We are just here to transport the sapphire, not to also join the bid.” He then motioned Miyu to follow him to the storage room.“Besides,” Kazal added, gaining Miyu’s attention as they walked. “I will need at least one of my vassals to accompany me in transporting the jewels
After the entrance period, the auction officially started. Starting with some trinkets and enchanted artifacts, the auction went on smoothly for some time.“Now, for the item you have all been waiting for.” The announcer said, making all the spectators excited. While the announcer talked about something, Miyu restlessly looked around to search for Kazal. All the seats around her is filled up with people except for the one beside her which she saved for Kazal. But if he doesn’t appear soon, the seat might be taken by someone else. That was how full the auction hall is right now.“Where is he-”Suddenly she heard a rustling beside her. She was about to jolt in surprise when she saw the dog demi human merchant sitting beside her.“You! Where did you go? The auction almost ended.” Miyu hissed. Even though they were sitting on the very last row, Miyu wouldn’t want her voice to be heard by the people in front. &ld
