CHAPTER 2

Mia's POV 

I woke up after my alarm rang for a while. I had a really good night's sleep and I hope my day ends up great. I brushed my teeth and took my bath and went downstairs to see my mum taking food to the dining room.

 My mum comes to my house often and at any time she wants since she has her keys. I smiled when I saw her and hugged her after she placed the food on the table. She hugged me back and tried to check my face and my body. She started complaining about how I wasn't eating but I just smiled because my mum always complains that I don't eat well. I inhaled the aroma of the food and smiled again. I was feeling hungry.

We both sat down and started eating our breakfast. We chatted and laughed and my mum asked when I'm getting a boyfriend because I was of age and needed to get someone I could date and get married to. I frowned and told her not to worry I will get someone.

After eating we both packed the plates to the kitchen and washed them. 

My mum said she wanted to watch a TV programme so I went upstairs to my room

I entered my room and took my phone and saw a message on it.

I opened it and screamed.

My mum ran upstairs to find out what was wrong. I hugged her tight and started jumping around happily. I stopped to breathe and I realized my mum was scared thinking something was wrong with me.

I apologized and told her I got the new job I applied for. She was very happy for me and we both danced.

She later went downstairs and I called my best friend Lovia and told her I was accepted for the job.

She screamed and congratulated me and was so happy for me.

She teased me about my crush on Leo and started calling me Leo's wife.

I told her to stop but I was blushing. We talked for a while and I hugged up.

I was supposed to report to work the following day so I started preparing for work. I packed my stuff and found my outfit for work and then I decided to join my mum and watch her TV programmes.

I was so happy and I couldn't hide it.

I woke up the following morning, brushed my teeth and took my bath. I stood in front of the mirror looking at myself and smiling. I was so happy about getting a new job. I finally dressed up and left for work.

I arrived at the company earlier than expected. 

I didn't know where to go and was looking for where to go when I noticed a guy walking in. He looked like he also worked here in the company. I walked up to him and introduced myself as the new secretary and asked for directions. 

He congratulated me for getting a job there and welcomed me happily. He walked me to the secretary's office and we exchanged names and he told me we will see each other during launch time. I thanked him and entered my office and started going through the pile of documents there.

Later I saw Leo, my boss, enter the office and I went to greet him.

I introduced myself as the new secretary and he nodded and dismissed me saying he will call me later.

He is really cold, I thought and went to my office. I sat on my seat and was looking at him from my office.

He looked very serious and I just couldn't take my eyes off him.

He raised his head to look at me and I quickly turned away.

It was lunchtime and the guy I met in the morning, Dennis, entered my office and asked that we go for lunch.

I was hungry so I agreed and told him to wait for me outside while I arrange my office table and come out.

When I came out, Leo also came out and saw us. He ignored us as if we didn't exist so we also left.

I asked Dennis about Leo and he told me he is very cold at work and doesn't smile with anyone, but he takes care of the employees in terms of incentives, salary and other benefits. He told me how he liked the Company and wished to stay at the company for a long time. 

I blushed all through hearing about Leo. 

I don't know how I'm going to get him but I'm very sure I will get him.

We came back from lunch and the rest of the day was uneventful. Leo sent me some emails and also asked me to work on them. I made sure not to get too close to him because I was afraid I would blush too much or tell him how I feel or just anything that would jeopardize my stay in the company. I was extremely careful and did my best.

After work, Dennis came over and we both walked to the car pack. We talked for a while and then entered our cars and drove off to our various homes.

When I got home, I threw my bag on my bed and jumped on it and finally breathed a sigh of relief. It was as if I had been holding my breath all day. I smiled when I thought of Leo and hugged my pillow tightly.

I went to shower and then came down to have dinner.

I looked through my fridge and found the food my mum prepared for me. I heated them and ate my fill.

After eating I sat down to watch television a little.

Then I went to my room to prepare for the following day. I picked my work shirts, ironed them neatly and hung them.

I picked up my shoes and cleaned them and also put them in the right place. I went through some documents and after I felt satisfied with what I have done so far, I fell asleep.
