“ It doesn’t…make sense. ” I laughed nervously.

I knew the truth but I still had to pretend to be completely unaware.

“ They were not your parents. ” Alpha King stated in a cold voice.

“ What? ” Hearing it from him had a strange effect on me. The old wound was scratched and filled with salt.

“ Marcus and Nathalia were not your biological parents. ” He added. “ they raised you as their daughter after Andrew’s death, and loved you as their own but they didn’t have blood ties with you. ”

“ That—That doesn’t make sense. ” I swallowed the lump that unexpectedly clogged my throat.

The mention of the two people I loved the most in my life would never stop drawing the same reaction out of me.

“ You don’t need to doubt their love for you. You don’t even need to go look for your biological parents. But, Scarlett, you need to be aware of the truth if you want to find your true self and connect with it. ” Alpha King folded his hands behind his back.
