“ You won’t stop this, Alpha King? ” I questioned, sitting in front of him.

“ You didn’t have a problem getting mated before you left. ” He observed my face, trying to intimidate me.

“ Not left. ” I sighed. “ Taken. I was taken. ”

“ Even if you were taken, what changed, Scarlett? ” He clasped his hands together and placed them over the desk.

You drugged me. You lied to me. You never looked for me. I could say this and provoke him. But I didn’t.

I stayed silent and watched his face. There was no expression that could tell me what he was thinking or feeling at this moment.

Giving in, I exhaled a shallow breath. “ why did you call me here today, Alpha King? ”

“ I want to show you something. ” He got up, surprising me.

“ What? ” My brows shot to my forehead.

“ Come with me. ”

I got to my feet and followed Alpha King out of the study room. We walked down the stairs. He always stayed two steps ahead of me, leaving me trailing behind him.

My curiosity grew with each pas
