“ If things like this surprised me, I wouldn’t be leading the werewolf community. ” His lips curled in a grim smile.

I stared at him. I could tell he was trying to evade the topic. He knew what these marks were, just like Izer knew. Both refused to tell me.

“ I don’t know about them either. They appeared overnight. And I am still trying to understand them. ” I told him quietly.

“ Nothing happens overnight. ” Alpha King shot me a knowing look.

I pressed my lips in a thin line, refusing to say anything else about the marks. He was denying me answers, thinking I was still the same idiot. So, I was going to do the same.

“ Did something trigger you? ” His brows lifted.

“ I was kidnapped. I was held captive and no one came for me. I waited. Every day. But no one came to take me back. I suppose no one even tried. Was that not supposed to trigger me? ”
