“ What’s the plan now? ” Dixon grumbled, rubbing a hand down his face.

“ There is no plan. ” I shrugged my shoulders.

“ What are we doing then? ” He paused and stared at me.

“ Nothing for a while. ” I replied, dragging my finger against the edge of the desk.

“ Alpha. ” Dixon sighed in a familiar tone.

I stopped touching the edge and looked up at him. My eyes narrowed into slits.

“ Don’t say it again. ”

“ Why did you do it if you were going to be like this, man? ” He groaned, throwing his head back.

Rolling my eyes, I decided to focus on the wall instead of him. All he did for the past seven days was to ask the same question repeatedly. I didn’t understand what he found strange in me. I was completely fine.

I just didn’t fucking want to do anything these days.

I wanted to rest. Maybe, enjoy the view of the city. Forget about irritating memories. And stop reminding myself of the hopeful look she gave me when I forced her to leave.

I had never imagined she would want to hold on e
