Chapter 7

I jerked awake. I looked around and saw we were still in Lyall’s car. We had just pulled into Moon Valley territory.

“You okay? You were moving a lot in your sleep.” Lyall stated.

I was still breathing heavy I was so out of breath. The dream felt so real it didn’t seem like a dream either. Did I have a vision of what my future will be with Lyall?

I looked over at him and forced a smile on my face, “Yeah but I can’t remember what it was. I hate when that happens.”

I didn’t know how to tell him what I just saw. I didn’t want to worry him and I also didn’t want to believe that that’s what was going to happen. I couldn’t let it happen. I was determined now more than ever to break this damn Dark Wolf curse.

I wasn’t going to let it take over the man I love and have him murder everyone including myself. I leaned back against my seat and took some deep breaths to calm myself back down. We pulled up to my pack house just as I was able to calm myself down from my nightmare.

I turned to Lyall, “You ready to meet everyone?”

He half smiled at me, “I’m worried they’re going to only see me as the Dark Wolf.”

I rubbed his arm and kissed his cheek, “Looks like we’re gonna have to show em that you’re more than just the Dark Wolf all the rumors say you are.”

He kissed my forehead, “You’re right! Let’s do this!”

We both got out of the car and headed towards my parents car. My dads Beta, Jeremiah, came jogging up to all of us.

“Welcome home every…” Jeremiah stopped mid sentence once he spotted Lyall.

He looked from us to him and back to us.

“Uh….” He looked at Lyall confused.

“Jeremiah that’s not how we treat or react when we have guests!” My father scolded him.

Jeremiah straightened out and nodded his head, “I apologize. I just wasn’t expecting guests to be with you.”

“Jeremiah, this is my mate Lyall.” I smiled.

Jeremiah stiffened and for a short second had a face of disgust.

“Congratulations to you both.” Jeremiah bowed.

Jeremiah is like an uncle to me, he’s also VERY protective of me. Anytime he saw a boy around me he would make sure he was seen to warn the boys to be on their best behavior.

Jeremiah held out his hand to shake Lyall’s.

“Im Beta Jeremiah. It’s nice to meet you Dark….” Jeremiah started to say but I growled at him. “I mean Lyall, please forgive me.”

Lyall shook his hand back and laughed, “I get it. You’re Beta and you’re very protective of her. I don’t have the best reputation myself so that’s not reassuring you that she will be safe.”

Jeremiah was shocked by what Lyall said. “No..I…”

“Jeremiah please get our bags from the care.” My father angrily said.

Jeremiah showed his neck to my father and went to get all of our bags from the cars.

We all made our way into the pack house. I stopped in the entrance and looked around. It was weird I wouldn’t be living here anymore soon. I grew up here and this place is all I have known. I’ve known one day I would be leaving but now that it’s actually happening I was scared and sad.

Lyall must have noticed me looking sad and came over by me.

“We’re not leaving anytime soon. We can stay as long as you want. I know this is the only place you have known.” He kissed me on my forehead.

I hugged him tight.

“Thank you. Let me show you around.”

I straightened myself and grabbed his hand to give him a tour of the pack house.

We had a main floor where anyone could come and go as they pleased. On the other side of the main floor we had a rooms for any guests that were visiting us. Second floor was only for the Beta and Alpha and of course their families.

I showed Lyall to his room he would be staying in. I gave him a key to his room so he could lock it when he wasn’t in there so he had his privacy. My father met us at his room.

“Welcome to the Moon Valley pack house Lyall.” My father smiled. “I hope your room is up to your standards. We made sure to give you our best guest room, we normally only let Alpha’s use this room. It is one of our nicest rooms after all.”

“Mr Dunstan it’s perfect, thank you so much.” Lyall reassured my father.

“I’m glad. I’ve already sent word to everyone of our arrival and have planned a pack dinner meeting in two hours. We will introduce you two as mates to the whole pack then. Until then feel free to roam around the pack house.” My father said and then left us to do our own thing.

“I’m going to go shower and get ready for dinner. You okay to be alone until then?” I asked.

“I was also hoping to shower and get ready myself. Come meet me back here when you’re done?” He smiled at me.

I stood on my tip toes and kissed him. “See you soon my love.”

I left to go to my room. On the way there I spotted Ayala and her mother entering my father’s office. I didn’t want to be nosey but I also wanted to know why they were here. I made my way closer so I could hear what was being said.

“You both have a lot of nerve showing up here after what your daughter pulled at the party.” I heard my father say.

“Ayala wanted to come apologize for her actions and we also wanted to ask a favor of you as well Alpha Reginald.” Ayala’s mother stated.

“I will have to speak with my daughter if she is willing to give your daughter a chance to apologize to her. And what favor do you need?”

I could hear Ayala’s mother start to cry, “Alpha Reginald, our Alpha and pack have kicked us out for what my daughter has done. They all agreed we have embarrassed and disrespected them and made Oceans Howl pack look weak. They no longer want anything to do with us. We ask…no beg you to let us join your pack so we are not rogue’s. We would not survive out there without protection Sir.”

Ayala and her mother are both sobbing at this point.

“I will speak with my pack later tonight. We are having a pack meeting tonight to introduce Lyall as Azura’s mate. I cannot make any promises after what your daughter pulled. I will also have to talk to my daughter about this as she is still part of this pack until Lyall and her move to his pack. It may take a few days for our pack to come to a decision so I will allow you to stay in one of our guest rooms until then.”

“Thank you Alpha Reginald. My daughter and I truly appreciate you at least trying for us.”

“One slip up from your daughter while we are deciding and you both will be banned from my pack as well. We do not tolerate nonsense like that. Especially towards the Alpha’s daughter.” My father scolded.

“I understand sir. I promise to be on my best behavior.” Ayala said.

I had heard enough. I didn’t want to ruin my mood even more than it already is before dinner tonight. I went to my room to get ready.

I showered quickly and went to my closet to pick out an outfit when someone knocked on my door.

“Azura honey, are you dressed?” My father said on the other side of the door.

“Give me a second to put a robe on!” I yelled back as I threw my robe on over my towel. “Okay you can come in now.”

“I apologize for interrupting you getting ready but I needed to speak to you before dinner and the pack meeting.”

“What’s up pops?”

“Ayala and her mother have come to apologize to you. They also have been kicked from Oceans Howl and asked if they could join our pack.”

I rolled my eyes. “They have some nerve.”

“I know but as Alpha I have to let the pack decide. As much as I am made at them I do give kudos for showing up after what Ayala pulled.”

“I know and I won’t be here much longer so it’s not like I would have to deal with her for long. I just hope she doesn’t have any sneaky plans hidden up her sleeve.”

“I already warned them one slip up and they’re out. I will not tolerate that kind of behavior especially towards an Alpha’s daughter.”

I smiled at my feather, “Thank you for defending me. I love you pops.”

“I love you too sweetie. I just wanted to warn you and now I will let you finish getting ready.” He kissed my forehead and left.

I went back to my closet to finish getting ready.
