Ava felt the cold iron bars against her reverse as she sat on the damp gravestone bottom of the captivity cell. Lucifer’s pets had shoved her inside with little form, and the door had jangled shut with an portentous futurity. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart, but the air was thick with the scent of mildew and despair.
