Nightmares

It's been two weeks since that night. Riley recovered completely from her injuries. She resumed her training from a week ago and Ajax hired her as the pack Sentinel. She is given her duties within the pack. Helping the Alpha or the Beta if they need any assistance, pack perimeter security every alternative day along with a few other warriors. As she is in dire need of a job, she agreed.

After their talk, she never saw Carter again. Every night he comes to his quarters after she slept and leaves before she is awake. He is sleeping on the couch. She is missing him, but they both know it is for their own good.

"I have a night shift today" Riley said before hopping onto the kitchen counter and biting into the juicy apple that she picked up from the table outside.

Sophie has kitchen duty today.
