Chapter Forty-Eight

Jane lay on the bed, thankful that she still had the hospital gown on. It didn’t do much for her modesty but it was better than nothing. Sebastian had revealed himself from the shadows and at first she’d felt relief and then fear at the way he’d looked at her.

She’d been alone in this room for what felt like hours. She had no idea where she was and she hoped that Joseph could track her. Sebastian had said that he’d masked their scents, that nobody knew where she was.

Even if Joseph could track her, Ryan would order him not to. He would think she ran. Hopelessness filled her as she realized that nobody would be looking for her. Tears formed in her eyes because now she truly was all alone.

Reid would live his life with his daughter, Ryan would eventually find someone else and mark her. Would it hurt? She wondered about that. Joseph would have a new Luna to follow around and she’d be stuck here, tied to a bed.

The door opened and Sebastian smiled at her as he held a tray in his hands. He
