TASHA
My mother has informed me that she will not be returning home for the rest of the night since she's working overtime at her job. As soon as she said those words, I exhaled a sigh of relief because I couldn't allow her to see my bruised feet due to what had happened earlier that day at the university. On the other hand, Sadie asked permission from my mom if she could sleep at our house, and my mother granted her request without hesitation.
"Aw!" Suddenly, I was hit by a stinging pain in the area of my feet where Sadie was applying the ointment that she had purchased for me. I winced a little bit.
I could hear her sigh. "I think you should tell your mother about your situation, Tash. Annica's getting worst day by day, and who knows what might come into her mind the next time that sh
TASHAAs usual, words about what I did spread like wildfire throughout the university. I could hear rumors about me floating around from time to time, and they couldn't seem to take their gaze away from me whenever they saw me. Even Sadie was taken aback by what she had just witnessed for the first time. According to her, it was as if I had transformed into a completely different person. She never perceived me as someone who would fight back, and I don't think I do, either. I still don't know what has gotten into me, and I did that to them. When the lunch break started, Sadie and I made the decision to spend our time in the vacant lot at the back of the university in order to keep our distance from everyone. The fact that Sadie had saved another piece of her school's PE uniform and allowed me to borrow it was a blessing in disguise. Immediately following the incid
TASHAAfter learning what Rendall had done this morning, I found it difficult to concentrate during our class. I'm at a loss because I couldn't figure out what he was trying to accomplish or why he was doing it. No matter how hard I try to hurt him with my words and even with my deeds, he won't give up. It's as if he's tied to where he's at right now, and he doesn't seem to desire to be anywhere else but with me.I kept on sneaking glances in his direction from time to time, but he never attempted to lift his head from the table. Until we ended our class, he didn't leave his seat immediately like the usual."Feeling guilty about everything?" Sadie asked while we were at the cafeteria. She sipped on her orange juice and placed it at the table afterward. "You know what, if there's one thing that doesn't have a limitation, it's the
RENDALL Rage pulsed through my veins when the wolf in front of me shifted in her human form. I felt a flicker of irritation when a grin came out of her mouth. Her eyes drifted to Tasha's direction, who was currently lying on the grass unconscious. "That's not how you defend someone you're just playing with," Raiah uttered without looking at me. I closed the distance between us and held her tightly in her arms. "What are you doing here?! What if someone saw you in your wolf form?! Are you out of your mind?! You could've also killed her with your arrows!" "What's wrong with that? I did that to see whether you had any affection for her." Her smile dissipated. "For years, we've worked so hard to protect the rest of our pack because that is our responsibility, Ren
TASHA What am I thinking? Why did I let him do that? I held on to my head, stressing myself out about what happened inside the infirmary. Nobody caught us in the act of kissing, but the main question that I've been pondering ever since I hit the right state of mind was, why did I let him do that? I could've pushed him away from me at that moment! Rendall stayed with me at the infirmary after that. He seemed not to be affected by what happened, and only I am making a big deal out of it. It wasn't the first time that he kissed me, but I had no other excuses to make up for the choice I made this time. Everything felt so wrong, yet a part of it felt right. If not only for the sudden arrival of Sadie, I would've drowned myself in embarrassment. My body jumped out a little when a sound of a metal tray hitting the glass table echoed just beside me. I looked at Sadie in disbelief. "You've been spacing out since we've left the infirmary. Did something happen between you and Rendall?" she
TASHA When I showed up at the university's main gate, there was quite a commotion. I checked the time, and my temples wrinkled a little when I saw that there are scarcely five minutes left before the classes start but, various students were as yet assembled there — particularly girls. "Excuse me," I articulated as I attempted to walk my direction in, yet amazingly, students who were close to me screeched. I could hear tremendous ringing inside my ears because of what they did. I looked at them yet they rolled their eyes as they averted their gaze to something else—or should I say, someone else. I suppose he's the transferee who turned into a hotly debated issue as of late. I heard a lot of stories about him but I don't know what part of those stories was true. One thing's for sure, just like Rendall, he's a son of an influential man. When his eyes went in my direction, that was my signal to heave one last sigh before turning away. I'm late for my class! I quickly sat down when I a
TASHA "You'll be partaking in a design contest alongside Rhio," my professor in Design and Decoration informed me when I got inside his office. I gander at the man situated before his work area and I saw that it was Rhio. "We needed a representative from our department and since the both of you have broader knowledge about various design styles, I have decided to pair you up with each other." I looked at Rhio and when his eyes met mine, I rolled my eyes at him. For an obscure explanation, he's making my head spin with rage. I couldn't help but question why he is being given preferential treatment even though he's a new student at our school. "It would be a tremendous chance for the both of you, and as a result, I am hoping that you can send me your responses as quickly as you possibly can. I will be counting on the fact that you will take me up on my offer—" Rhio cut him off. "I'm accepting it," he said without pausing for a moment. "That's great!" Our professor made eye contac
TASHA "Upon doing extensive research, I learned that Rhio was a reigning champion in an international design competition. That explains why they wanted him to participate in the contest even though he's a transferee," Sadie told me from the other line. "I'll send you a link." I went up to my bed before opening the link that she sent me. It was a photo of Rhio taken six months ago from another university. He was holding the championship trophy alongside his professor. "He's certainly an eye candy and the man of my fantasies," Sadie complimented him as if he was the most beautiful guy she has ever seen. I rolled my eyes. "You've been saying those same words with numerous guys on your list. A huge number of them turned out not to be the sort of man you think they were." "But there's something about Rhio that I couldn't explain. It's as if he's a mystery waiting for someone to disentangle him," she said. I made a little pfft sound subsequent to hearing it. "Anyway, I should sleep
TASHA While Rhio was sitting on the opposite end of the bench, he handed me a bottle of water and said, "Here." I was able to catch a peek of his cheeks, and I noticed that he put a bandage on the wound on his face. None of us said a thing. When he was taking care of the wolf's body earlier, the only thing I could do was avert my look. After everything that took place, I'm still in a daze. I killed an animal with my bare hands, it's not something that I should be proud of. "I won't disclose anything about what happened," he broke the silence. "It's not my business to mind other people's lives so don't stress about it." "It was the very first time that I had ever done something like that," I confessed to him. I fiddled with my fingers to calm myself a bit but it was of no use. "I know," he said. "If you're used to doing something like that, you wouldn't tremble like how you did earlier. You appeared to be in complete shock." That's when everything dawned on me all over again.
