“ I saw them leave. ” Declan says.

I press my lips in a thin line and stare at the folded paper he handed me after returning.

According to him, the Princess asked a warrior to send it to Declan so this could be delivered to me. And she…left with her brother.

She made a promise to me. She said she wouldn’t abandon me. I haven’t asked for that much.

I just asked her to not leave without saying goodbye. Don’t disappear without meeting me for one last time. Don’t just become a memory so suddenly.

But she had done what she wanted. She didn’t care how it hurt me, or how she broke her promise.

Maybe, it’s her way of getting back at me. Once, I had broken my promises too and had hurt her over and over again.
