Chapter 3

"Kate-"Raize words were cut off yet again by Kate decisively.

"We will eat first before the two of us talk. If you don't want to join us, feel free to eat on the couch." Kate paused and looked at Michael and Gabrielle, who started off their lovey-dovey atmosphere early.

Her lips twitched as she sighed and then said, "Come on. It's dinner time."

Michael and Gabrielle stood up and made their way towards the table that was filled with hot food.

Raize also stood up and silently made his way towards the table.

Kate only looked at him silently and did not say anything more as she put the last plate in her hands and sat down.

"Let us pray."

"..."

"I did not know that you are Catholic," Raize asked after he went silent for seconds when Kate said those words.

He cannot be blamed, though.

As he was never present when Kate was praying before she ate.

"..."

Kate ignored him as Michael and Gabrielle looked at him like he was the foolishest being on Earth.

"You really are a shithead! Why can't you just stay silent for once? Can't you run your mouth later when you talk with Kate?"

Raize furrowed his brows as Riz once again cursed at him.

'Will you shut up? I'm trying to understand these little details. That's why I'm asking Raize retorted back, his forehead creased.

"But your question is clearly not welcome. Just shut your mouth," Riz responded back, clearly disapproving of his other half.

Raize decided to shut his mouth.

Listening to Kate and Michael pray while Gabrielle just closed her eyes.

Raize also closed his eyes, as he did not know what to pray for.

"Our Moon Goddess. Bless our food and our drink. Since you redeemed us so dearly and delivered us from evil, as you gave us a share in this food, so may you give us a share in eternal life."

"Amen"

Raize opened his eyes and also muttered Amen when Gabrielle said those words.

Kate and Michael both looked in his direction when he muttered those words.

Raize tilted his head as he thought that maybe he said something wrong.

But Kate and Michael ignored him once again as they started to eat.

"...."

Raize was now accustomed to getting ignored.

He should never do something that could make anyone ignore him to this extent.

Raize thought of this as he slowly slurped down the porridge that was given to him.

Silence passed as the four of them ate their food in a "harmonious' atmosphere.

Finally, they were done.

Their utensils made noise as they clinched.

Raize looked at Kate with anticipation when he was done eating as Kate wiped off the food stain in her mouth and stood up, looking at Raize below.

"Let's go to my room." After Kate said those words, she turned her back and made her way towards her own room as she left Michael and Gabrielle to do the dishes.

Raize followed her.

Michael and Gabrielle, who was left behind to do the dishes, looked at the two of them until Raize and Kate finally entered Kate's room.

Gabrielle looked at Michael, who was still looking where Raize and Kate entered, as he narrowed his thin brows as he darkly asked, "What? Can't get enough of that new face?"

Michael turned to look at his boyfriend, who was already brewing with familiar jealousy.

His lips twitched, but he then felt glad.

His little boyfriend feeling jealous means that he is madly in love with him.

No matter what.

Michael thinks that this was a good thing.

So after his lips twitched, he smiled, stooped over to match his little boyfriend's height, and gave him a kiss on the forehead.

"No. I just worry that my friend, who was clearly a fool, will fall for that guy once again," Michael explained while caressing his lover's short hair.

Gabrielle put away his jealous look as he pouted his lips.

"What was so wrong about her falling in love with her mate once again? He was his mate, so it is justified for her to fall on him again, though, right?"

Michael went silent when Gabrielle asked him that question.

But then, it took him less than two seconds to answer his lover's question.

"That guy is a cheater—a playboy to be exact—and he can never be the best fit for Kate," Michael paused, then continued on to say.

"And also, even if they were mates. It does not mean that they are for each other if they don't love each other," Michael finished saying.

Gabrielle nodded his head as if what his lover said made sense.

"Yeah, it was unlike us. We are mates; we loved each other, so we are really mated," Gabrielle boasted with a smile.

Michael also smiled with him.

"Let's do the dishes now." Michael kissed Gabrille's forehead once again as he prepared to wash the dishes with his lover.

Even with this simple act of washing the dishes, he felt that he could now die in peace.

"...."

Kate looked at Raize as she released a sigh.

She was already stressed out.

She needed to release a portion of this stress of hers to keep herself sane and not go insane.

Raize did not beat around the bush anymore, as he hugged her straight.

"Yeah! That's how you do it, man." Riz's furry face swayed as he praised Raize for being decisive.

Raize did not pay any attention to his other half as he tightened his hold when Kate struggled to get out of his arms.

"I'm sorry," Raize whispered near Kate's ears immediately after he laid his head on Kate's shoulder.

Kate stopped.

But her dark eyes lowered after that while she opened her lips to say, "You're sorry?"

Raize's eyes lit up as he nodded his head and repeated what he said, "Yes, I'm very sorry."

"What is the use of you being sorry when that cheating event has already happened?" Kate cut him off decisively as she said those words with a sneer.

Raize went silent after hearing what Kate said.

that he can't defend himself.

Even if he were to say now that he just did that because of the jealousy he felt.

Kate probably will not forgive him.

"...."

"I--" Raize paused, but then his eyes lit up once again.

When he thought of something.

"I did not completely reject you because Riz always hinders me from completing the process of breaking our red thread, and also, you already know that it was normal for me to do those kinds of things...."Raize's voice grew quieter as Kate looked at him with expressionless eyes.

A gaze like he had never been a part of her life.

Raize's heart thumped hard at this thought.

He shut his mouth as Riz, who perceived this wrong atmosphere, started cursing him once again.

"You really are miserable," was all Riz could say after his cussing stop.

Raize also thought he was miserable.

He never thought that he would be this miserable in front of Kate.

"Do you have anything more to say?" Kate said this after silence passed between the two of them.

Raize pursed his lips as he solemnly nodded.

Kate blinked as she asked, "What is it? It's almost my bedtime."

A little reminder from Kate at the end of her sentence that made Raize interpret' for him to get out of this house faster' made him lower his head.

He was like an abandoned puppy on the street; the only difference is that this new abandoned puppy is dressed expensively.

"...."

"Can you give me another chance?" Raize said as he raised his head to stare straight into Kate's eyes.

"I promise to make it up to you. Please?" Raize added before Kate will say something that is probably a rejection for himself.

Kate sighed.
