Chapter 1

Kate happily hummed a song under her breath as she carried a small lunch box carefully in her arms.

Her happy face was so visible that her friend, Michael, couldn't help but  also reveal a smile.

"Are you that happy that you finally became one with him?" Michael asked, nudging Kate carefully on the shoulder.

But no matter how careful and weak his nudges are, Kate still glares at him while tightening her hold on the small lunch box in the process.

"Don't move me!" Kate scolded her friend in a low voice.

Michael chuckled and then raised his brows.

"Wow, you are giving me an attitude now, huh?"

Kate twitched her lips but then sighed.

"I'm not. I'm sorry" 

"You don't have to be sorry. You just wanted to give that small lunch box in good condition to Raize. "There's no need to be sorry when I'm the one who is being naughty."

Tears filled Kate's dark eyes in an instant when Michael said those words.

"Besh..."

Now it was Michael's turn to twitch his lips when his friend looked at him with such eyes.

"My friend, you are so ugly right now. Fix yourself up if you don't want to appear ugly in front of Raize," Michael kindly advised.

Kate then hurriedly fixed herself until she was presentable enough before she sighed and walked towards Raize's class once again.

Michael did not follow her anymore, as he had already walked in a different direction.

Kate was all alone now.

Standing in front of the room where Raize is.

Kate does not know why, but her heart keeps beating so fast as if, if she were to open this door, something bad, enough to break her heart, would reveal itself in front of her eyes.

"What am I doing?" Kate inhaled and exhaled to let the nervousness and unexplainable feelings inside her chest go away.

As she slowly opened the knob with a wide smile.

"Hey-!" Kate's greetings were cut off as her eyes widened with what she saw.

Raize, her boyfriend, was currently being topped by some unknown girl.

The small lunch box that she had been carrying so carefully a while ago was let go and made a noise in this silent yet ambiguous atmosphere.

"What..? What are you doing?" Kate's lips went pale as she struggled to have words come out of her mouth.

Her boyfriend only looked at her, dead in the eyes, while the girl who was topping Raize a while ago had already run off, covering her body and face.

Raize is not answering her question, so Kate once again repeated her question.

"I asked you. What the fuck! Are you doing?" her tears streaming down to her cheeks as Raize only hooked up his lips when she shouted in anger and betrayal.

"What is there to ask me when it is already obvious what I did to you?" Raize's deep and hoarse voice echoed inside the empty classroom.

Kate felt her knees weaken after Raize said those words.

She kneeled down while tears kept falling out of her eyes, not having any intention to stop at all.

Silence filled the empty classroom for only a minute, as only the rustling of Raize's clothes was the only one making noise.

Finally, Kate found her voice.

"Why...? Why are you doing this to me? We loved each other, right?" Kate's silent murmuring made Raize laugh.

"Love? It was only you who was thinking that we loved each other," Raize said as he crouched down to match Kate, who was kneeling down on the ground in a miserable state.

"Pity for you, babe. I don't love you."

"But we are mates! Mates are supposed to love each other!" Kate screamed; her red-rimmed eyes continuously shed tears.

Raize the silence as he looked at Kate.

But his silence was only for a matter of seconds as he once again chuckled, like what Kate said was the most pathetic thing in the world.

"Mates? We can't rely on the fact that we need to love each other just because we are friends. I don't love you," Raize said.

Kate stopped, the wolf inside of her curling up in pain because of what he said.

"You don't mean what you said. It's not true," Kate silently said, repeating those words over and over again, as if chanting those words would really make her think that what Raize just said to her was not true.

But Raize was not going to let her continue deceiving herself as he decisively cut her chanting off.

"It's true. I don't love you, and yes. I just cheated to prove it to you," Raize heartlessly told Kate the truth.

Kate went silent. She looked at the ground hard for a long time.

Raize was about to stand up and leave.

Kate finally moved as she asked for a last favor quietly.

"If you really don't love me, then why don't you make a rejection speech for me? If you do, I will believe what you just said," Kate said, her back leaning on the wall.

Silently looking at the ceiling.

She slowly closed her eyes as she hung her head low when Raize stood up and gave his speech without hesitation.

"I, Raize Luco, Alpha of the Black Moonlight Pack, hereby give my rejection to my mate, Kate Asie, Omega of the White Moonlight Pack." Raize finished his speech off as he turned his back, leaving Kate, who finally sobbed in desperation.

"Haha!" Kate laughed loudly.

But her laugh did not contain any happiness, as it all contained negative emotions.

"I should not have ignored it," she said, her eyes not streaming down any more tears.

But her red-rimmed eyes and gaze, as if she were already dead inside, say it all: that she was crying so hard a while ago, enough for her to think that being dead is much better than living.

"...."

"You hated me...."

"You hate me so much..."

"Haha"

"I should have not ignored it, I-hng." Crystal tears once again fell from her eyes as Kate curled up her body as she covered her face with her knees, repressing her sobs as she heard some students passing by the empty classroom she was in.

That continued for a long time, until the bell finally rang, signaling to the students outside that classes would be starting yet again.

Kate has quieted down a lot now.

Picking up her phone from her pocket, she fixed herself up as she also used up some makeup to cover up her red-rimmed eyes.

Patting up the dust in her skirt, she looked down to stare at the small lunch box on the ground.

Picking it up carefully and dusting it.

She got out of the empty classroom.

Walking towards her own class, she stopped by the trash bin without any emotion on her face.

She threw the small lunch box in.

Then continued to walk towards her class.

She was already half a mile away from where the trash bin is when she suddenly stopped and came back for the lunch box once again.

The dark eyes of a while ago were now green, a sign that the current Kate was not Kate but Katie, Kate's other half.

"How can you throw these precious things away?" Katie asked as she dusted off the crumbs on the lunch box with Kate's handkerchief.

Kate, who was already curling up at the side without any emotion on her face, pulled off a small smile.

"Why can't I? I have been thrown away; it was my turn to throw things out," Kate said while looking at the dark void in front of her.

Katie stopped, looked down, and bit her lower lip.

How can she not know what Kate was talking about?

She was there to witness such a thing happen.

She was also one of the things that were thrown out.

The control of the body came back to Kate as Katie curled up her wolf body into a ball.

Kate sighed quietly as she once again threw the lunch box into the trash bin.

Walking down to her classroom, she did not see Eduard picking up the lunch box once again.

Michael entered the classroom with a happy smile, sat down next to Kate, and nudged her on the shoulder.

"So...how did your little date go?" Michael asked, not noticing Kate's darkened eyes.

"Don't mention him in front of me anymore. I want a clean break," Kate said, while looking into Michael's eyes with indifference.

An attitude that Michael never knew is present in Kate's character.

Michael's happy smile slowly disappeared as he narrowed his eyes.

But he did not talk anymore, as the teacher for today had already entered and started his discussion.

Michael always steals a glance in his friend's direction every minute to observe.

But even though he tried hard to observe his friend,

He already knows.

The girl on his side was not his cheerful and sunny friend.

He knows it very well.

Since this girl beside him exudes a black aura, everyone has the perception that no one can come closer to her.

What happened when he was not beside his friend?

Just thinking that something bad might happen that involved Raize, his heart already thumped hard in pain as he wished to go back in time and accompany his friend so he knew what happened.

Asking his friend once again about what happened might break his friend's soul, as she might recall a memory that she badly does not want to recall.

This act continued for hours until all classes had already ended.

Kate silently packed up her things as her classmates around her surrounded her with familiarity.

"What are you going to do now, Kate?" - Samantha

"Wanna go shopping with us?" - Amethy

"Hey, how about we go to the karaoke bar?" - Alexa

Kate put her bag on her back as she looked at the three girls in front of her who were inviting her with so much enthusiasm.

"I'm sorry. I'm not available for today." With that said,

Kate turned her back and left.

Samantha furrowed her brows as she murmured, but it was enough for the four people present to hear.

"She could just say that nicely. What? Now that she is Raize's girlfriend, she can act up like that." Amethy nudged her and secretly looked at Michael.

Michael frowned but did not say anything, as he also followed along after Kate.

Samantha bit her lower lip as Amethy and Alexa both glared at her at the same time.

"What..? I'm being honest, you know."

Amethy shakes her head at her while Alexa knocks her knuckles at her head lightly.

"Aww!"

"Serves you right," Alexa said as she then looked towards where Kate and Michael left.

Sighing, she said, "Let's go to the bar."

Samantha forgot the pain in her head as she cheered.

"Let's go!"

Alexa smiled at her cheerfulness.

She raised her hands and slowly caressed the part where she hit.

"Does it still hurt?" Alexa asked.

Samantha tilted her head and felt the pain in her head.

She winced in dramatic pain as she pouted and then nodded.

"Yes, it still hurts."

Alexa guiltily caressed Samantha's head more as Samantha's smug face made Amethy twitch her lips.

A bunch of gay people.

She just went outside and was the first one to go to the karaoke bar.

Michael soon caught up with Kate.

As he furrowed his brows and harshly yanked Kate's arms back.

"Why are they acting like this?" Michael scolded.

He can't help himself anymore but to scold his friend, even if it means that his friend will probably break down just because of his voice.

Sure enough.

Tears streamed down Kate's face as his voice fell.

"I-I-hng!"

Michael went silent as he felt guilty.

Moving closer to Kate's side, he hugged her, and Kate also returned the hug, continuing to cry.

Raize sees this scene from start to finish, but what he understands from this scene is completely different from what is happening over there.

He sneered as dark light flashed before his eyes.

He took one last look at the two people hugging as he finally left.

On Michael's side.

Michael's face turned ugly after Kate explained what happened to her between sobs.

"I'm going to kill him!" Michael shouted as he was about to leave and go for Raize when Kate stopped him.

"Don't! Don't go to him. I don't want him to think that I am such a pathetic girl after all." Kate's face was full of snot once again after she cried her heart out for her friend.

Michael bit his lip.

He wanted to commit murder, but he can't seem to do that.

He sighed.

"Let's go home. We need to get you rested."

Kate did not talk anymore, as she nodded her head.

'Even if I can't murder him today," I'm pretty sure there will come a day when I can finally murder him for hurting my friend. You just wait, you asshole!' Michael darkly thought with an expressionless face as he helped his friend get into his car before driving her off to her house.

Raize's back sweated as his other half deliberately performed blasphemy by having to forcefully tear his soul apart for a so-called punishment when he tried to reject their mate completely.

"Stop it now, Riz!" Raize said as his cheeks went pale, keeping himself sane so his other half wouldn't have the opportunity to take control of his body, and then ran off to Kate's side to apologize and act like a dog.

Even though they were originally dogs.

"...."

"Then give me control of our body!" Riz shouted in a growling voice.

"No! I can't let you do that!" Raize responded back with his humanly growling face.

"Why do you hate our mate so much? She's our mate! You know we can't live if we were to reject her!" Riz gritted his teeth as he said those words, his eyes as if blazing with fire because of rage towards his other half, who treated their mates like trash a while ago.

"I did not completely reject her, thanks to you."

Riz exploded after Raize said those words: "Now if I did not stop you, you would really perform something outrageous! How can you do that to our sweet mate?"

Raize was silent for a moment, but then he said

"She was a cheater," she said, saying those words.

Raize remembered how Kate hugged another man after their breakup.

"Speak for yourself! How dare you fucking accuse her of being a cheater when you are the real cheater here? How can she cheat on us when she clearly loves us? You fucking useless man!"

Raize sneered at what Riz just said: "In your eyes, she loved us dearly. But whose mate was hugging a male intimately a while ago?"

"That's her fucking friend who is lending his arms to console our mate! You need to solve your fucking toxic jealousy, man!" Riz's mouth was only full of curses towards his other half.

He was really, really angry at Raize.

He never thought that just because of jealousy, his other half would commit something outrageous, like having to reject their mate!

He needs to take control of the body now and then go to their mate.

He can't waste anymore time here talking to these useless guys.

While his mate out there was having a mental breakdown because of what Raize did.
