BETRAYAL AND FEAR

My eyes darted toward the window, and my heart stilled as I caught sight of a pair of glowing eyes in the darkness.

The rogue wolf. It hadn’t given up its hunt.

It had found me again.

I gulped down hard, taking a deep breath afterwards, trying to steady myself. Just then, something sharp yanked my hair, and I was violently pulled backward. The ground rushed up to meet me, and I hit it with a painful thud.

I gasped, a cry escaping my lips as I instinctively reached for my head. I twisted to see who had attacked me, and there she was—a girl with fiery eyes and an expression filled with hatred.

Before I could scramble to my feet, she grabbed my hair again, yanking my head painfully backward, her fingers like claws digging into my scalp.

“Who the hell are you?” She spat, her voice dripping with venom. “How dare you touch my Oliver?! You think you can have him? I’ll show you! I’ll kill you!”

I flailed desperately, trying to pry her fingers from my hair, but her grip was too strong. The pain was searing, and all I could do was cry out. “I don’t even know him! I swear, I’m no one! Why would I snatch Oliver from you? You can have him…he’s all yours!”

My words came out in a frantic rush, my only hope that she would let go. I didn’t care who Oliver was to her or why she was so possessive—I just wanted her to stop pulling my hair.

Her face twisted with rage, and I could feel her fingers tighten even more. “Liar! You’ve been plotting this all along, haven’t you? You think you can sneak into our pack and steal him from me?!”

“I don’t want him!” I yelled, my voice cracking with the pain. “I swear!”

Just as I thought she might tear my scalp off, a deep, commanding voice cut through the air. “What’s going on here?”

Her grip loosened instantly, and I collapsed to the ground, my breath coming in ragged gasps. I looked up, dazed, to see the Oliver, I was almost killed for. The girl’s demeanor shifted instantly, and she backed away, her hands trembling slightly.

“Oliver…” She murmured, her voice suddenly soft and pitiful.

Oliver moved toward us, his gaze flicking between the girl and me, but I could see his attention was focused on her. “Hailey” He growled, his voice a low, dangerous rumble. “You know how much I hate repeating myself, so you better start speaking.”

Hailey swallowed hard, visibly shaken. “I…I saw her” She stammered. “I saw her sneaking into the pack. I’m sure she’s a spy sent by the rogues.”

Oliver’s eyes narrowed, and I could feel his stares swallowing me up as it shifted to me. My heart pounded in my chest, terror coursing through my veins.

“She’s not a spy,” he snapped, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife. “I brought her here myself.”

Hailey’s face twisted with a mix of shock and anger, but she quickly masked it with a gasp, feigning surprise. “She told you that right? But what if she’s lying? What if the rogues sent her to infiltrate our pack?”

“They didn’t” Oliver growled, his patience clearly wearing thin. “She was being attacked by them when I found her. I saved her.”

I watched as Hailey’s expression darkened, but she quickly covered it with an exaggerated look of concern. “But what if that’s exactly what they wanted you to think? What if it’s all a plan to get her into the pack, to spy on us for information?”

Oliver’s jaw clenched, his fists curling at his sides as he glared at Hailey. “Enough.”

Hailey flinched, her expression going sober “I never knew you’d bend your own rules, Alpha,” she said, her voice dripping with manipulative sweetness. “Allowing a rogue into our pack without a proper check. Are you really willing to risk the safety of the pack?”

I saw Oliver’s face darken, his muscles tensing as his fury rose. He turned his attention back to me, and I felt a cold dread settle in my stomach. “You’ll be watched closely” He snarled, his voice cold. “If I find anything suspicious, I’ll snap your head off myself and feed your body to the vampires. Do you understand?”

My throat tightened, and I could only manage a nod.

He let out a low growl, standing abruptly. “Good”

With that, he stormed out of the cot, his footsteps heavy and full of anger. Hailey lingered for a moment, giving me a smug grin before she followed him, leaving me alone and trembling on the floor.

I pulled my knees up to my chest, feeling my heart race uncontrollably. Fear coursed through my body like an unstoppable current, and I couldn’t hold back the tears that burned at the corners of my eyes.

What was I supposed to do now? I should leave but I've got nowhere to go!

I was trapped, surrounded by people who hated me, accused of things I didn’t even understand. And worse, I had somehow become the target of this mad girl’s obsession with her Alpha.

I took a deep, shaky breath, trying to calm the storm inside me. There was no escaping this. No running away. I had to survive, even if it meant enduring this torment.

NEXT MORNING

The door creaked open, startling me from my restless sleep. I looked up to see him Oliver standing in the doorway, his imposing figure blocking the light. His expression was cold and indifferent, as if the events from the night before hadn’t happened at all.

“Get up,” he ordered, his voice devoid of emotion. “You have work to do.”

Scrambling to my feet, I winced as my body protested from the hard floor I had slept on. My muscles ached, and the remnants of last night’s attack still stung. I trailed behind him, trying to match his brisk pace, but his strides were too long, too fast. Couldn’t he slow down for once?

He led me to the edge of the grounds, where the warriors were already gathering for their morning drills. I could feel their eyes on me as we passed, whispers and murmurs trailing in our wake. I kept my head down, not daring to meet anyone’s gaze.

“You’ll assist with the training today” Oliver said curtly, not sparing me a glance.

I nodded silently, my mind buzzing with questions and anxiety. The fear from last night still gripped me tightly, but I forced myself to focus on what was in front of me.

Lucas, one of the head warriors, signaled for me to follow his orders.

As the morning passed, I did my best to keep up with the instructions, assisting where I could, though I knew I was being watched closely, but I didn't know who it was.

Just then I saw Hailey walking toward me with a slow clap. I froze. The memory of her assault flashed before my eyes, and my muscles tensed in fear.

“Well, well” She sneered, standing a few feet away. “The little rogue playing warrior now?”

I said nothing, keeping my gaze focused on the ground, my hands trembling.

“No matter the trailing you'd take omega, you don’t stand a chance against me” She hissed. “You’re nothing. Nothing but a worthless rogue. But don’t worry—I’ll put you in your place.”

Before I could react, she lunged at me, her fist connecting with my lip, sending a

sharp burst of pain through my body. I staggered backward, tasting blood.

Shit! She's crazy!

Elena’s povAnother rejection! Again! I lay down on my bed, tears filled eyes. I felt like the moon's goodness had abandoned me. No wolf, family, friends, or even a single memory of my life before. I felt like trash, no scratch that, I am trash.Rejected by Liam and now Oliver. I guess I broke a record, the only wolf who was rejected twice in werewolf history. I tried to console myself but I ended up wetting my pillow as I cried myself to sleep. *******I woke up with my head banging hard. I held my head trying to stabilize myself and check where I was. I looked around and I figured out I was in my room, still without clothes. I looked at the pillow that had been stained with tears and the memories of the rejection flooded back.I picked myself up and got dressed, it was almost dark out and I needed to keep myself distracted. I walked out of my room, my head hung down, avoiding eye contact, and just when I thought I was invisible, I collided with a girl and a tray of drinks poured al

Elena’s povI roamed the forest without a destination and nowhere to go. I did not wish to go back to the pack. I thought I finally felt something and felt loved but it was another pack that treated me like trash and an alpha who rejected me, again.I did not know how much of this emotional pain I could take. Just then I heard some voices and I quickly hid behind a tree. A few seconds later two guards passed by and from their conversation they were heading to the border.“I'm close to the border?” I asked myself, surprised at how long and how far I had walked. Just then an idea came to me.“I can leave! No one would miss me or look for me and I can escape the harsh judgment from the pack and Oliver”I braced myself and decided to escape from the pack. I walked silently towards the border trying not to draw attention and I would try to jump the wall of the pack and I would be free.I was near the border and I could see the wall. I lay low, trying to avoid being caught. There were a lot

Elena’s pov Oliver was on his way to the camp and if I don't get out of here right now, I would have to face him and I was not ready after the rejection. This was not how I had planned this, I was supposed to move away from him and not be delivered to him on a platter of gold.I looked around for something I could use to break the handcuff and set myself free but every movement was met with unbearable pain.“I can't stay here, I have to bear the pain” I said as I tugged at the cuff, which made cuts on my skin. “Fuck, I need to get out of here.” I got up, ignoring all the pain. “I wish this chain could be like cookies and I could break through it,” and just then a bright light appeared, it was so bright that I had to shield my eyes. Few minutes later the light dimmed, leaving me stunned.“What was that?” I asked myself, looking confused. I shook my head and tried to concentrate on the task at hand, and immediately I pulled the cuff, it came crumbling down like pieces of crumbs.“The…

Elena’s POVI felt the surge of panic deep in my bones as I ran, each breath ragged and shallow. My body ached in ways I couldn’t even describe, but the adrenaline rushing through me wouldn’t allow me to stop. I limped forward, pushing through the branches and overgrown shrubs as fast as I could. Oliver was chasing me—I could feel him getting closer, the bond between us pulsing like a magnet pulling us together. I was already weakened by the silver cuffs and the pain in my broken bones. I didn’t stand a chance if he caught me, not with his strength and speed. But I had to try. I had to get away. The sun had fully dipped below the horizon now, leaving only the faint glow of the rising moon to guide my way. The thick forest was filled with unfamiliar sounds—the rustling of leaves, the calls of nocturnal creatures—but nothing was louder than the pounding of my heart in my ears.“Please,” I whispered to the darkness, stumbling forward, “just let me get away…”Suddenly, my foot caught on a

Elena's POVI ran until my legs couldn't carry me anymore. The forest seemed endless, and I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare. Finally, I collapsed onto a rocky surface, getting little injuries and gasping for breath.Oliver's words echoed in my mind: "You're mine, Elena.” I was confused and surprised. I shuddered at the memory. How could he say that after rejecting me? What changed? It wasn't up to a few hours ago when he told me that I couldn't be his mate and here he his claiming me. As the darkness closed in around me, I realized I had to keep moving. The rival pack could still be out there. With newfound determination, I pushed myself up and continued, my senses on high alert.Suddenly, a faint light appeared in the distance. Hope flickered to life within me. As I drew closer, I saw a small cabin nestled among the trees. Smoke drifted lazily from the chimney. My body ached from all sides, I staggered to the cabin. Elena’s POVI woke up feeling a bit stronger but still weak. My fever had broken, but my body ached like I had run for days without rest. The mysterious old woman, Ana, entered the room again with a bowl of hot soup.“You need to eat,” she said firmly, handing me the bowl.I hesitated. “Who are you, really? And why are you helping me?”Ana sat down beside the bed, her eyes studying me. “I’ve lived in this forest for many years, child. The pack wars have affected us all, even those of us who don’t get involved. I help where I can, and I can sense when someone is in need. As for who I am…let’s just say I’ve been around long enough to see many stories like yours.”Her words puzzled me, but I was too tired to press for answers. I took a sip of the soup, the warmth soothing my throat. “You talk like you know more about me than you’re letting on.”Ana’s expression softened. “I know a lot, Elena. You’re not just an ordinary wolf. But for now, you need to rest and regain your strength. When y

Elena’s POVThe next morning, I woke to a soft warmth on my cheek. My eyes fluttered open, and I found Oliver sitting beside me, his hand gently caressing my face. His touch was tender, as if he feared I might vanish.“Morning, my Luna,” he said softly, his voice a soothing melody to my troubled mind.I sat up slowly, rubbing my eyes. The weight of yesterday’s emotions still lingered, but his presence calmed the storm within me. “Morning,” I replied, my voice laced with sleep.Oliver handed me a cup of tea, his usual routine when he stayed the night. It was one of the little things he did that made me feel like I belonged in his world, even though I still doubted it at times.“I have a meeting with the council today,” he informed me as I sipped the warm brew. “They’re pressing for answers about the traitor and the attacks. I need you to be cautious, Elena. If the mole gets desperate, they might act rashly.”I nodded, understanding the gravity of his words. “I’ll be careful. But Oliver

Elena’s povI stood by the balcony as my mind went on wondering what was going on in the pack. I have not yet been bonded to Oliver but it was crazy. Sure, the people see me as their Luna and even call me Luna but it was yet an official title. Chloe and Hailey were making sure about that!I was beyond frustrated—-from the war to the impending danger of the pack, to the traitor or mole hidden within the ranks. I had tried to snoop around but things didn't go exactly as planned. Luckily—-the only good thing to come out of this was that Lucas was healed, not fully, but he was making a very quick recovery.I felt a hand placed on my shoulders and I quickly knew who it was—-as only his touch could make my heart skip a million beats.“Hey….what are you doing here?” Oliver asked, I turned to him and hugged him tight. “I'm sorry….” I apologizedI could feel the confusion he felt through the bond, he pulled me back, staring into my eyes “What are you apologizing for?”I threw my face away,

Third povElena’s instincts bristled as Chloe’s parting words lingered in her mind, sharp and unsettling. The air in the packhouse felt heavier, as though suspicion itself had seeped into its walls. She couldn’t shake the feeling that Chloe was hiding something, but the question was what—and why.The library door creaked shut behind Chloe, and Elena exhaled slowly. The confrontation had been subtle, a game of unspoken words and veiled intentions, but it had confirmed one thing: Chloe was no innocent observer in the pack’s recent turmoil.Elena gathered her thoughts and returned to her quarters, where Oliver was waiting, his brows knit in concentration over a map of the pack’s territory.“You’re late,” he remarked without looking up, his voice laced with concern.“I ran into Chloe,” she replied, crossing the room to stand beside him.His head snapped up, hazel eyes narrowing. “What did she say?”“She was… cryptic,” Elena admitted. “She mentioned the pack’s future, but it felt more like

Third povThe morning after the battle arrived slowly, dragging its weight through the packhouse like an unwelcome guest. The faint golden light seeping through the curtains did little to lift the heaviness that lingered in the air. Even the forest seemed muted, as though it too, was recovering from the violence it had witnessed.Elena stood by the bedroom window, her fingers tracing idle patterns on the frosted glass. She had barely slept, her mind replaying the events of the previous night in an endless loop. The rogue Alpha’s lifeless eyes, the blood-soaked ground, the traitor’s betrayal—all of it churned within her, refusing to be silenced.Behind her, Oliver stirred, the rustling of sheets breaking the quiet. She turned to find him sitting up, his hazel eyes dark with fatigue.“You didn’t sleep,” he said, his voice hoarse.“Neither did you,” she replied softly. He sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. “It’s hard to rest when you know there’s a snake in the grass.”She no

Elena’s POVThe aftermath of battle was always heavy with emotion, a strange mix of relief and despair. As the last rays of sunlight dipped below the horizon, casting the battlefield in an eerie twilight, the stench of blood lingered in the air, mingling with the quiet groans of the injured.Oliver’s arm was still wrapped tightly around me as we walked back to the packhouse. His warmth and strength anchored me, even as the adrenaline of the fight began to fade.“Are you hurt?” he asked, his voice low and rough from exhaustion. His sharp eyes scanned me, lingering on the shallow claw marks on my arm.“It’s nothing,” I replied, brushing it off. “You’re the one who looks like he went ten rounds with a rogue Alpha.”He chuckled softly, though the sound was strained. “I’ve had worse. Still, I can’t believe you disobeyed me, Elena.”I opened my mouth to retort, but he stopped abruptly, pulling me close so we were face to face. His expression was serious, his hazel eyes searching mine.“You

Elena’s POVThe silence after Daniel’s departure was deafening. I paced the room, each step echoing against the wooden floor as Beauty’s wide, tear-filled eyes followed my movements. My bond with Oliver throbbed faintly—still there, but the pain I’d felt moments ago had left an ominous shadow. I clenched my hands into fists, forcing myself to remain calm.“Elena, please sit,” Beauty begged, her voice trembling. “You’re making me more nervous.”I paused, taking a deep breath to steady my racing thoughts. Sitting wasn’t an option. The growing unease in my chest demanded action, but I was trapped, bound by Oliver’s order to stay here.“You don’t understand, Beauty,” I murmured, my gaze fixed on the window. The forest stood still, deceptively peaceful. “When you’re bonded, you feel everything. Pain, fear, even—” I stopped, swallowing hard. “Even death.”Her hand flew to her mouth, stifling a gasp. “Don’t say that! He’s strong, Elena. He’ll come back.”I nodded, forcing a tight smile, but

  • Mated To The Rejected Omega    Chapter 36

Elena’s POVThe peaceful warmth of the night lingered even as the first light of dawn began to peek through the heavy curtains. Oliver lay beside me, his features softened in sleep. He looked so different like this—vulnerable, unburdened. My fingers itched to trace the lines of his jaw, but I stopped myself, not wanting to disturb the rare moment of calm. The responsibilities of the pack would soon weigh on us again, but for now, I allowed myself the indulgence of watching him. My heart ached with a quiet joy, a feeling I hadn’t dared to dream of before. But as much as I wanted to stay in this cocoon of safety, the world outside wouldn’t wait. I slipped out of bed, careful not to wake him, and wrapped myself in a soft robe. The fire had burned down to embers, the room still faintly warm.Padding quietly to the window, I pulled back the curtain just enough to peer outside. The horizon was streaked with soft pink and gold, the forest bathed in an ethereal glow. It was beautiful, but the

His back was to me, but I could feel his tension even from across the room. He was always strong for everyone else, carrying the burdens of the pack on his shoulders, but tonight, I could sense that weight pressing down on him.“Oliver,” I called softly, my voice breaking the silence. He turned to face me, his eyes tired but softening as they met mine. “Elena,” he said, his tone filled with relief. Elena’s POVThe infirmary was eerily quiet as the chaos outside settled. The muffled cries of the injured and the hurried whispers of healers were all that remained of the earlier battle. I sat beside Lucas’s bed, my mind still racing with everything that had happened. He was pale but stable, his breathing shallow as he rested. The image of his bloodied body being carried in by Oliver haunted me. The battle had been brutal, and while I knew this wasn’t the first time Lucas had fought to protect the pack, seeing him like this tore at my heart. His earlier confession echoed in my mind, and I couldn’t shake the weight of his words.“Elena?” Oliver’s voice broke through my thoughts.I looked up to find him standing in the doorway, his shirt torn and stained with blood—not all of it his own. His face was grim, exhaustion evident in his every movement.“How is he?” he asked, stepping closer.“The healers say he’ll be okay,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. “But it’ll take time.”
