Brian and Ralph were about to have a profound discussion on the topic when the door of his office was knocked again.
“What now!” Shouted Brian in anger.
Manager Ben came inside with nervous expressions.
“I clearly instructed you to come back when everything is done? Why are you wasting my time? Do you have a death wish?” asked Brian yelled in fury.
Emily who was standing right at the door jumped in response when her sweet and caring CEO roared.
“Sir, I brought Ms. Donavon and the contract as instructed. She is standing right outside your office” He replied obediently while pointing towards the door.
Brian tore his gazes from Benedict and his eyes fell on Emily standing at the door with frightened expressions.
Just by looking at her, the fire ignited inside him subsided immediately. His eyes softened when his hazel globes met her baby blue eyes. He instantly started to feel calm and a sweet smile curved on his pink soft lips.
Before he could utter a word, another excited chicken in the room hurriedly spoke.
“Ms. Donavon, please come inside. We have been waiting for you for a while now” Ralph said in his signature playboy smile.
“Waiting for me?” She asked with muddled expressions.
“Of course, sweetheart. Please take a seat here, right next to me” Ralph patted on the chair next to him with a smile, he was still looking at Brian with corner of his eyes.
Brian groaned at him with warning and Ralph raised his hands in defense but there was a constant smirk on his handsome face.
“Ms. Donavon, please have a seat” Brain pointed towards the same seat next to Ralph.
“Ahem, ahem” Ralph coughed loudly.
“What’s wrong, Ralph? Do you need a glass of water or my fist on your throat?” Brian glared at him, the corner of his thin lips twitched into a fake smile.
“I need a proper introduction, Mr. Hale” replied Ralph in serious voice and pressed his lips into a fake smile.
Brian shook his head with a sigh before he looked at Emily.
“Ms. Donavon, the douche sitting next to you is Mr. Ralph Linton, CEO of Amethyst Enterprises” Brain pointed towards the handsome blonde.
A surprise took over Emily’s beautiful face when she heard about the identity of the Kent doll sitting next to her.
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Linton” Emily smiled brightly.
“Oh please, call me Ralph, sweetheart and believe me, pleasure is all mine” Ralph grinned widely while taking her hand and planting a soft kiss on the back of her palm gently.
He was still glancing at his best friend from the corner of his eyes with a constant creepy Cheshire cat grin.
“If we are done with your nonsense, can we have talk about business?” Brain growled at him.
“Of course, we would to hear about ‘your business proposal’” Ralph replied with a flirty smile.
“So, you are not going out when I am talking with my employ?” Brain raised his eyebrow, his voice razor sharp and his look was dark enough to scare a wild boar but it had zero effect on the playboy billionaire Alpha.
“Obviously not!” Ralph scoffed and waved his hand before sitting comfortably on his chair.
Emily was looking at them bickering non-stop.
‘They must be best friends. Nobody could fight for this long for absolutely no reason’ She thought while taking a deep sigh.
She was dragged back to reality by Brian’s appealing melodic voice.
“I am willing to offer you a job, Ms. Donavon” Brain was going through the contract when he spoke.
“Really? What will be the position, sir?” She asked confusedly.
“My personal secretory” Brain replied casually but the word ‘Personal’ sounded more intimate than it should have.
“How personal, Mr. Hale?” asked Ralph with a teasing smirk and Brian rolled his eyes.
Emily looked at Ralph and then Brian with worried expressions.
“Sir, I have no experience. I came here to apply for the job of Customer Supporter Executive” Her panic state didn’t go unnoticed by any of the Alpha.
Brain immediately took the initiative to calm her down and spoke in a gentle voice, “Don’t worry, Ms. Donovan. You don’t need to have a particular degree or experience. I know you are the best candidate. Believe me, I am really good judge of a talent”
“Yeah, he observes ‘Everything’ in one glance” Ralph added while pointing towards her head to toe and Emily coughed lightly.
“Ignore him!” Brain did the damage control immediately.
“Absolutely” was Emily’s instant reply.
“Really sweetheart? Now that was rude!” Ralph made her uncomfortable with just one cold look.
“Ralph, stop it!” Brain gritted his teeth.
“Please check this contract and let me know what do you think? It’s a one time offer. You need to take your decision now” Brain uttered seriously while handing her the contract.
She started going through the contract like a proofreader. When her eyes fell on the salary, it was stuck there.
“30000$?” She nearly shouted and her eyes became as wide as the full moon.
“Hmm. That’s the basic salary for my personal secretory” Brian replied nonchalantly and smiled at Ben with satisfaction, who made sure that Emily won’t be able to back off from the offer.
“30000$ for an inexperienced employ? Should I apply for the job too?” Ralph asked in a mocking tone.
“Nope, places are only open for a beautiful face” he glanced at Emily with a flirty smile.
Emily’s eyes met Brian’s and her cheek instantly turned strawberry pink with blush but the other Alpha was still there to ruin their moment.
“Did you mean I am ugly? You are ugly! Your whole family is ugly!” Ralph replied agitated while pointing an accusing finger at Brian.
Brian was beyond angry when Ralph ruined his small moment with Emily.
“Will you please shut your mouth for a second, Ralph?” His cold gazes were throwing dagger at Ralph.
“Then say I am handsome!” Ralph demanded.
“Yeah, you are exceptionally handsome and you know it. You don’t need my consent for it!” Brian rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Of course, I do know that” Ralph replied like a happy puppy.
Emily waited for their nonsense bickering to end but they just kept on going with a break, so she had to interrupt by coughing.
“Ahem! Ahem!”
“You need a glass of water, sweetheart?” Ralph looked at her sharply, clearly not really happy with the interruption during his praising session.
“Are you feeling okay?” Brian asked in a worried voice.
Looking at the genuine concern in his tone, Emily’s heart was melting and her cheek started turning red when his eyes was directly on her.
“Yes, sir. I.. I.. wanted to ask tha.. that.. What will be my job?”
