I stood outside whilst the doc and his team took Kara in for surgery. The clocked tick by slower than a snail as I waited. I blocked myself off from everything, hoping that she would pull through. She wasn’t just an ordinary wolf. She could do this. The only thing stopping me from rushing into the room and roaring at the doc and his team was that I could feel the bond.

It was faint, but it was still there. I could hear the steady beeping of the machines as the doc prized a silver pair of clippers into her shoulder. She looked as if she was asleep still. The longer this took, the more anxious it was making me feel. I can’t lose her.

I stood, my heart thumping as the machines started blaring. Chaos ensured as nurses fluttered around the room, grabbing tools and meds. One picked up the biggest syringe I had ever seen inputting a visceral liquid before pushing it into her forearm. It burnt. I could feel it entering her body, heightening the pain through the bond. I tried to lend her
