115 The Nearest Place To His Heart

Sibyl’s POV

I don't know how long I slept. When I woke up, I saw Nuri lying on his side, holding his head with one hand, staring at me.

I was still sleepy and shrank shyly under the covers. "What time is it?"

"You've missed breakfast."

"Really?" My eyes widened. Why did I sleep so long?

I pouted and complained, "Why didn't you wake me?"

Nuri rubbed my head affectionately. "It's my fault. I made you so tired last night."

He winked at me.

This bad Nuri! I picked up a pillow and threw it at him.

He took the pillow and approached me. "I have the day off today. Would you like to go riding with me on the Prairie? I bet you are very bored in the palace."

"OK." I sat up happily. "I'm really bored. I miss being free in the Witch's house."

Nuri was suddenly nervous. He looked me in the eye. "I will always take you with me. Don't try to sneak away, or I will punish you so badly that you won't be able to get out of bed for three days."
