There is a huge sharp pain in my head, and then I black out.  When I wake up, all I hear is a strange sound I haven’t heard since I was a kid.  The sound of wood being split.

Feeling the same pain from just before I blacked out but to a lesser extent, I try to raise my hand to rub my temple but find that my hands our banded behind my back.  So, I turn my head around to see where that noise is coming from.  When I glance at him, recognition hits me like a ton of bricks.  It is Omega Peter, and Janessa is standing right next to him.

Not being able to believe my eyes, I pretend that I am still knocked out and listen to their conversation when he stops splitting wood.  Hearing him throw wood in the fire and then move closer, he says to her, “When Cassius sees what we have accomplished, he will reward us handsomely.  You just wait and see.  Speaking of that, he told me earlier that he will be back later tonight to collec

Waking up the next morning, I feel so much better and open my eyes to see the doctor standing next to me. “How are you feeling this morning, Luna Raven?” He asks before Eric walks back in from the other room. “I actually feel much better, but did they find the pups?” I respond before asking. “No, unfortunately. I don’t see how, because there are only so many places they could be, and we have searched all of them. At this rate, I am going to have to contact Ryder and see if he has seen or heard of anyone traveling with several pups at a time.” Frowning, I state. “It has been too long.” And then glance up at Eric before starting to sob. He takes me in his arms and comforts me, saying, “Hush. I will find them even if it means I must go to the ends of the earth to find them. Our pups will come home safe and sound before you know it.” Stroking my hair silently, he holds me for several more

“Raven, wake up baby.” His warm breath tickles my ear, as I open my eyes and I’m greeted with a smirk before he runs his fingers down my spine. Laying on my stomach, I feel content for the moment especially when he plants soft little kisses on the back of my neck. I purr while saying, “Mm. That feels so yummy that we may have to start before my heat kicks in. Now that’s what I call a wakeup call.” With his fingers continuing to travel down my body, I sigh and then turn over before he stops and states, “Well, you do know that we don’t have to be in heat to make love.” When I wink at him, he runs his fingers back up my legs and to my thighs so it tickles, before stopping. But then he hesitates and sighs before doing anything else as I stare into his desire filled eyes. I watch while the hunger that threatens to take him over grows stronger with every second that passes, but it scares me a little and thrills me to no end

“You did it!” Eric exclaims, when Eric the second starts to walk for the first time. He picks him up with his big strong hands, and he squeals with delight as Eric kisses him on his chubby little cheeks. I sit there and watch as I play with Lilly and Trinity before putting them in their beds for naptime. They are beautiful little pups with dark brown hair and green, emerald eyes. I can already tell that they will be fair young women when they grow old enough to have mates. It’s amazing that it has been a month and a half with absolutely no problems since Cassius struck and my baby girl, Alora was killed. Since then, we have been hunting nonstop and scavenging for food to feed the pack, which seems to be growing with each day. In the Summer, we will be able to build more houses and rearrange everything so we can start supporting our ever-growing territory. If that means that we branch out into farming and livestock so be

“Boom” Sitting at the dining room table with Eric and Ryder, I hear a horrendous sound come from the pups’ room. We all immediately glance at each other and then jump up, barreling towards the bedroom. I get there first, and I can tell that there is something wrong because the door is off its hinges. A wave of pain hits me as I hear another loud explosion echo throughout my head. Flying backwards, I crash into Eric and Ryder before falling onto the floor and shaking my head as I try to get my hearing back. Untangling myself from them, I rush back to the doorway and what I see in front of me is devastation. All at once the smoke, sadness, and pain hit me. Amid choking on the smoke filtering out of the room, I see flames shooting everywhere and finally hear everyone screaming. Eric and Ryder come up behind me and they just stand there speechless because the pups are no where to be found. Then again nei

When I get back to the pack, Ryder and Eric are standing in front of the burnt down pack house and are in heated discussion over something I can’t hear. I walk up to them, and they both raise their eyes to stare at me when I say angrily from between gritted teeth, “I have found the murderer and he is a hunter. A man in the woods, just outside of town. The thing is that he has silver and is no normal hunter, he is a hunter of our kind. He is the one who killed the pups because he has their dead bodies just waiting to be skinned and hung. There little feet rest around his neck on a necklace made of them.” Appalled by what I just said, they both stare at me and don’t move. Then eventually Eric walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist before holding me close and I begin to pummel his chest with my tightly closed fists. “How dare he! Why them, why now!” I cry out while Eric takes the brunt of my assault. Ryd

“Crunch” I slowly open my eyes and right away I see a fawn staring at me from just a few feet away. It’s sweet doe eyes blink and then it starts to walk away slowly. I glance over at the fire and notice that it has died down and all that is left are a couple embers. Realizing that it must be only four or five, I try to fall back asleep by closing my eyes, but then I hear another noise and it seems like it is getting closer and closer by the second. I open my eyes just in time to see a hunter leap into the air and come down on the place where I lay with his knife out and a closed fist hits me in the head just before I black out. This time when I open my eyes, I wince as I feel a stabbing pain in my temple and all I see is darkness. I try to move but discover that my hands are bound behind my back. Waking up fully, I try to sit and can’t because my ankles are also tied together. As I try to cry out, my sounds ar

Hearing something fall to the ground and make a loud clattering sound, I startle and open my eyes quickly. Ready to fight, fangs slide out and my claws draw, but when I turn it is only Eric trying to get out of bed without waking me. I smile in relief and say, “Good morning, Eric.” Before he returns the smile and climbs out. When he is on his feet, he walks over to me and says, “You have no idea what kinds of dreams I have been having. They are definitely not good ones, I might add.” I watch as he shakes his head in frustration while looking up at the ceiling, and then he lowers his gaze to me. The sadness in his eyes tells me that he has been through too much in the last several days and he is at his wits end. He softly cups my chin in his palm before leaning down and kissing me. It’s a sweet kiss that turns into something more like yearning and hunger after the first bit. Speeding up his kisses, his tong

Feeling someone shaking me gently, I wake up and glance at Eric lying next to me. He has his finger to his lips and then says in a whisper, “Don’t make a noise, there is someone here.” I quietly climb out of bed and wrap the blanket around me, before heading to the door and carefully looking around the corner to the hallway. With Eric right behind me, we creep down the hall and just before I get the front door open, someone tackles Eric from behind and knocks me onto the ground. Turning my head, I look behind me before pushing off the floor. Standing up, I stare for a second or two at Eric fighting a man, before I encounter yet another one who is glaring at me from the doorway. Instantly, my fangs and claws come out as he launches himself at me. Swiping at him with my claws, I don’t connect but rather feel the air knocked out of me from behind when the man Eric was fighting turns around suddenly and kicks me in the spine. I

Sitting there for the longest time, I have yet to figure out exactly what to do. I put my face in my hands and start to sob, but then I stop and stand when my cheek starts to ache again. Touching it, I press in and hear something clicking. Walking over to the mirror, I stare at my reflection. A broken woman looks back at me. Someone who once was proud and stood tall, I am now shattered and a mere shadow of myself. Today, I thought it was the end for me and the scary fact is that I had come to terms with everything. I forgave everyone and yet there is something that still bothers me. Eric said that he hasn’t been the Alpha I need him to be. What he doesn’t realize is that I don’t need him as an alpha, just my mate. He is everything I need and more, but because he feels like he failed me he has become someone else, and I see it in his eyes. The disappointment and sadness, but mostly regret.

“Crash” The whole house shakes as the sound reverberates through out every room. From upstairs, I hear someone screaming and then as soon as I get my bearings, I rush down to find out what has happened. The next thing I know, my face is buried in the pillows on the couch and there is someone over me with his hand on my head, not letting me move. I hear a man speak in a low deliberate voice, “I presume that you are Raven the Luna of the Wild Fang Walkers and Alpha Eric’s mate.” Staring at me as he waits for my response, I say nothing. “Alright, so we know that you are one in the same and I have been sent here to take you back to my boss, the King pin of Avalon City. Apparently the two of you, have done quite a bit of damage to the syndicate and they don’t appreciate it. They have sat back long enough and tolerated your presence. It has been 2 years since the war with the humans. When Eric stomped them down, the mafia bosses seemed to not want any more to do with us. Just as long as we don’t leave our territory, and they don’t leave theirs we all get along. “Momma, momma.” “Momma.” Turning to Hope and Justin, I smile and then take one in each arm before standing up. Kissing them on the head, I remember when things weren’t going so well. My world is different now though, because everyone respects me and when I say something, there are no more doubts. Of course, Eric might have something to do with that. The moment someone even thinks about it, Eric rips their throats out and doesn’t give them a second chance, because he is a powerful adversary all on his own and with me by his side, we are unstoppable. Not to mention, now that the pups are growing big and strong, he would never let anything happen to them ever again. As I carry

As soon as word gets out that I am about to get out of the clinic, Eric comes rushing in with a dozen red roses and a huge smile on his handsome face. The last few days, he has been staying at the clinic, but this morning he ran off and I didn’t know why till now. I stare at him as he waits patiently for the doctor to walk in and check me over. Hearing the doctor from the other room, we both glance at each other and smile. The door opens and then the doctor peers in, checking to make sure he isn’t intruding before he enters the room. Eric immediately starts pacing because I can tell he can’t wait to get me out of here. After all, tonight is a full moon. Still holding the roses, he remembers that he is carrying them and leans forward so I can smell. So, I close my eyes and take a breath in through my nose. The scent fills me, and I make a “Mm” Sound. When the doctor walks over to me and listens to my heart, he gl

“Raven, do you know where Lizzy went? The pups are hungry, and she isn’t anywhere to be found. I don’t like the fact that people disappear far too frequently around here. We have to start doing something about it.” He stares at me with a frown before waiting for me to answer. “Well, I can take care of the pups food needs for the moment, but we have to find someone who will actually be here full time. I thought she was responsible enough, but maybe she found her mate and they have gone off somewhere to be alone. Who knows?” He nods and then leans down before giving me a kiss on the lips that feels more like he is thinking of something else. His eyes wander to the window before he walks off and disappears out the door. Staring after him, I put down my book and stand up to go to the kitchen, when I hear a strange noise in the bathroom. Cocking my head, I listen for a minute longer. Nothing, but the minute I s

“Bang” “Boom” My eyes hurt and feel puffy, but when I wake up it is pale in comparison to the sharp pain still in my shoulder. Now I am beginning to wonder if the blow to my skull hasn’t caused me to hallucinate, because I hear loud noises in the next room and Eric’s voice again. He is shouting out asking, “Where is she? I know you have her.” “Boom” “Crash” “Boom” Sitting there, I notice something after a little while. Everything grows quiet and right before Jeremy’s face peers through the door, I see someone sitting in the corner staring at me. It is a bit odd, but I dismiss it quickly as also part of my imagination till he turns the light on, and I see it is not. Jeremy walks in and then I see an older grey-haired man who looks to be almost 7 foot tall. His eyes are wide and a shade of blue that is so bright that it looks unreal. I can smell his cologne from a mile away and it makes m

Matter of fact, even now after having human women, he still prefers you and I have no idea why.” Jeremy’s face is so close to me that I feel the spittle running down my face as he speaks vehemently towards me. As I feel someone yank me backwards and to my feet by my upper arms sharply, I wince in pain when I feel my shoulder dislocate. I hear a popping noise and then close my eyes in pain and agony. Writhing around, I grimace when he forces me to look at him. “Look at me bitch! You are a female dog after all.” He stares into my eyes as close as he possibly can before he snaps his teeth together, acting like he is going to bite my nose off. “I bite too you know?” He winks at me and then shows me his biggest Cheshire Cat smile. My mate is wet and naked, you are touching her chin and it looks like you just kissed her. Exactly what is it then?” I can already see the rage in Eric’s eyes from clear across the room. Ryder glances from me to Eric and then replies, “I walked in, because I saw you stomp off in a huff from your bedroom.” He sighs before continuing. “Wanting to make sure she was alright, I knocked and when she didn’t answer, I entered. When I did, she was in a horrible mess, ranting and raving about Jeremy so I threw her in the shower to cool off and get ahold of herself.” Walking closer to Eric now, he keeps an eye on him as he says, “This is just before you came in. When I shut off the shower, she walked out and then I was just about to ask her a question when you came through the door.” Eric sta
