Sitting there for the longest time, I have yet to figure out exactly what to do. I put my face in my hands and start to sob, but then I stop and stand when my cheek starts to ache again. Touching it, I press in and hear something clicking.
Walking over to the mirror, I stare at my reflection. A broken woman looks back at me. Someone who once was proud and stood tall, I am now shattered and a mere shadow of myself. Today, I thought it was the end for me and the scary fact is that I had come to terms with everything.
I forgave everyone and yet there is something that still bothers me. Eric said that he hasn’t been the Alpha I need him to be. What he doesn’t realize is that I don’t need him as an alpha, just my mate. He is everything I need and more, but because he feels like he failed me he has become someone else, and I see it in his eyes. The disappointment and sadness, but mostly regret.
"Get out of my way!" I hear someone growl and threaten John, the beta standing in front of them. When John finally moves, I'm shocked to see Eric, the Alpha of the Wild Fang Walkers heading straight for me.I finally turned 18 on the last day of the Full Moon Event. Which for me, means after years of watching everyone else go into heat, I take my turn when the full moon rises tonight. This isn't without it's own consequences however, because when an unmated female goes into heat, every unmated male in the vicinity wants to screw her till the sun comes up.This also means that I might finally fit in. After my parents were wrongfully accused of killing another of their clan, they were forced to leave and join the Wild Fang Walkers before I was born. Eric, who at the time had just taken the position of Alpha, was ruthless, but decided to give them a chance to be part of his clan.Standing my ground, I wait for h
"What are you doing here, Pumpkin?" My dad asks before he sees Alpha Eric coming in behind me and quickly lowers his eyes."Eric drove me home and I need to pick up my things. I will be living at the pack house from now on." Shocked, I guess they thought that I would be staying there and have my things sent for. Walking in, my mom smiles at me but then immediately looks down.My dad nods to Eric and then says warmly with mischief in his eyes, "I see you met our Alpha Eric finally. Did you get acquainted last night during the Full Moon event?" Knowing full well that we did by his flared nostrils, he chuckles and then gives me a big hug.Offering a firm hand, he says to Eric with respect, "Welcome, son. You are not only our Alpha, but you are our son now too."Watching this odd exchange, my mom stands back and waits till I turn to her. She says lovingly, "I have waited for a long time f
"Dad, are you feeling O.K.? I think you need to get that checked out." I say truly concerned after he was swiped especially hard by one of the rogues last night just before mom died. Sad and missing mom, he answers, "Yes pumpkin I am fine, but if you would feel better knowing that I got it looked at I will go over there now." Preparing for my stuff to arrive, Eric orders everyone to clear out and make room for all my things. Last night, my dad stayed at the pack house with us and we stayed up all night long trying to figure out who is the master mind behind all of the attacks lately. Piece by piece, we gathered the details and still having no clue are back to the drawing board. "Yes dad, I would." I smile warmly at him before Eric walks in and leans down to kiss my forehead. Seeing the look in Eric's eyes, my dad decides that it would be best if he left to get his wound checked and leave the two of us al
The doctor checks my wound after taking off the bandages, declaring me all healed up. He reminds me, "Now, don't forget to still be careful twisting and turning for a couple of days, otherwise it will reopen." He points at me, looking sternly and then smiles because I can't help but laugh. Of course, it still hurts when I do, so I immediately regret it. Today is the day I get to start to feel back to normal. No more getting carried everywhere by the Alpha and worshipped by the Alpha and hugged and kissed by the Alpha. Oh who am I kidding, I loved every bit of it. After the last attack, everyone has been on high alert, but since there haven't been anymore for at least a week, Eric hopes that it has ended. There are several of the pack that doesn't believe that and are blaming it all on me. They figure that because I am so young and Eric has been preoccupied with me that he has let another Alpha into the territory b
"Are you alright?" Eric asks, genuinely concerned for my well being. After Tiffany died in my arms last night, I have just been moping around and in a state of shock. I couldn't sleep or even eat, instead I just sat in the recliner and stared out the window. Closing my eyes for a few minutes, I kept hearing the screams and the look of agony on her little face. Knowing that they meant to get to us, it makes it even worse and all I want to do is find those responsible and rip their heads off.Listening to Alpha Ryder at the council meeting, I sit at my rightful place next to Eric and try to figure out what to do next. "We have to be careful of everyone we let through our territory. Double up on security and be advised that some how someone is sneaking their people in." He looks around the room carefully at each and every one of us.The whole room is quiet except for Steven, who is tapping his finger nails on his arm
"We have to do something besides sit on our asses and wait for an attack." Eric stands up and exclaims to the council angrily. Everyone else seems to want to wait, but they haven't been attacked as many times as we have in the last several weeks. Not realizing that I can hear everyone's thoughts, a few of the council members think to themselves that Eric is just being stupid and that he isn't thinking this through first. We talked about it all morning before coming to the last day of the council meetings and we figured the only way we are going to get ahead of this is to start discussing attacks against the surrounding territories. Maybe then, we won't be so caught off guard next time. Ryder stands up and speaks, "My brother is right, but first we need to secure what we do have before we go into attack mode. Defending should be our first priority, because if we don't have anything to come back to when we are done attacking, t
"Please." I beg for him to take me. Watching as Eric kneels down in front of me, he spreads my legs and his face disappears. Feeling his tongue lick my folds, I let out a small whimper and beg for more. "Please." He continues his assault on me. My fingers tangle in his hair while I throw back my head in ecstacy and I feel my wolf threaten to take over. Not now, I think to myself and force my inner beast to stay down. Eric stands up and suddenly picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder. I yell out, "Help help." then giggle. Pretending to kick and scream, I thrash around and he laughs as he carries me to the bed. After throwing me down, I stare into his wild eyes and watch as he loses his clothes quickly. When he stands in front of me naked, I realize that he is absolutely perfect. His sculpted body reminds me of those statues you see in the museum of Roman Gods. Handsome and stro
"Who made lunch?" I ask smelling something cooking in the kitchen.Ever since the mate bond hit me, I have felt connected to Eric on such a deep level that I have never felt with anyone else before. In a way it is wonderful, but in another it makes me weak and I know this now. Being alpha's mate makes you stronger, but it also subjects you to being scrutinized by everyone.Never feeling good enough, I sit back and watch others in the pack and the way they react to me. Most of them treat me like they did before the bond, but there are some who are always watching everything I do and I hear their whispers when I'm not looking. Especially those closest to Eric it seems.Perhaps if I had been older, they wouldn't have minded so much, but as it is all I ever hear is a constant chatter of she is so inexperienced, young and she doesn't have a clue how to be a leader of a pack. They wonder why me and I often wo

“Crash” The whole house shakes as the sound reverberates through out every room. From upstairs, I hear someone screaming and then as soon as I get my bearings, I rush down to find out what has happened. The next thing I know, my face is buried in the pillows on the couch and there is someone over me with his hand on my head, not letting me move. I hear a man speak in a low deliberate voice, “I presume that you are Raven the Luna of the Wild Fang Walkers and Alpha Eric’s mate.” Staring at me as he waits for my response, I say nothing. “Alright, so we know that you are one in the same and I have been sent here to take you back to my boss, the King pin of Avalon City. Apparently the two of you, have done quite a bit of damage to the syndicate and they don’t appreciate it. They have sat back long enough and tolerated your presence. So, from this moment on, the humans rule this planet, not your kind. By the way, has anyo
It has been 2 years since the war with the humans. When Eric stomped them down, the mafia bosses seemed to not want any more to do with us. Just as long as we don’t leave our territory, and they don’t leave theirs we all get along. “Momma, momma.” “Momma.” Turning to Hope and Justin, I smile and then take one in each arm before standing up. Kissing them on the head, I remember when things weren’t going so well. My world is different now though, because everyone respects me and when I say something, there are no more doubts. Of course, Eric might have something to do with that. The moment someone even thinks about it, Eric rips their throats out and doesn’t give them a second chance, because he is a powerful adversary all on his own and with me by his side, we are unstoppable. Not to mention, now that the pups are growing big and strong, he would never let anything happen to them ever again. As I carry
As soon as word gets out that I am about to get out of the clinic, Eric comes rushing in with a dozen red roses and a huge smile on his handsome face. The last few days, he has been staying at the clinic, but this morning he ran off and I didn’t know why till now. I stare at him as he waits patiently for the doctor to walk in and check me over. Hearing the doctor from the other room, we both glance at each other and smile. The door opens and then the doctor peers in, checking to make sure he isn’t intruding before he enters the room. Eric immediately starts pacing because I can tell he can’t wait to get me out of here. After all, tonight is a full moon. Still holding the roses, he remembers that he is carrying them and leans forward so I can smell. So, I close my eyes and take a breath in through my nose. The scent fills me, and I make a “Mm” Sound. When the doctor walks over to me and listens to my heart, he gl
“Raven, do you know where Lizzy went? The pups are hungry, and she isn’t anywhere to be found. I don’t like the fact that people disappear far too frequently around here. We have to start doing something about it.” He stares at me with a frown before waiting for me to answer. “Well, I can take care of the pups food needs for the moment, but we have to find someone who will actually be here full time. I thought she was responsible enough, but maybe she found her mate and they have gone off somewhere to be alone. Who knows?” He nods and then leans down before giving me a kiss on the lips that feels more like he is thinking of something else. His eyes wander to the window before he walks off and disappears out the door. Staring after him, I put down my book and stand up to go to the kitchen, when I hear a strange noise in the bathroom. Cocking my head, I listen for a minute longer. Nothing, but the minute I s
“Bang” “Boom” My eyes hurt and feel puffy, but when I wake up it is pale in comparison to the sharp pain still in my shoulder. Now I am beginning to wonder if the blow to my skull hasn’t caused me to hallucinate, because I hear loud noises in the next room and Eric’s voice again. He is shouting out asking, “Where is she? I know you have her.” “Boom” “Crash” “Boom” Sitting there, I notice something after a little while. Everything grows quiet and right before Jeremy’s face peers through the door, I see someone sitting in the corner staring at me. It is a bit odd, but I dismiss it quickly as also part of my imagination till he turns the light on, and I see it is not. Jeremy walks in and then I see an older grey-haired man who looks to be almost 7 foot tall. His eyes are wide and a shade of blue that is so bright that it looks unreal. I can smell his cologne from a mile away and it makes m
“I knew that Eric’s little bitch wasn’t very strong. I am frankly surprised that he chose you in the first place. He could have had any number of women. Matter of fact, even now after having human women, he still prefers you and I have no idea why.” Jeremy’s face is so close to me that I feel the spittle running down my face as he speaks vehemently towards me. As I feel someone yank me backwards and to my feet by my upper arms sharply, I wince in pain when I feel my shoulder dislocate. I hear a popping noise and then close my eyes in pain and agony. Writhing around, I grimace when he forces me to look at him. “Look at me bitch! You are a female dog after all.” He stares into my eyes as close as he possibly can before he snaps his teeth together, acting like he is going to bite my nose off. “I bite too you know?” He winks at me and then shows me his biggest Cheshire Cat smile. They yank me har
“It’s not what it looks like. I promise.” Ryder turns around to face Eric and tries to explain. “Hmm. Let’s see. My mate is wet and naked, you are touching her chin and it looks like you just kissed her. Exactly what is it then?” I can already see the rage in Eric’s eyes from clear across the room. Ryder glances from me to Eric and then replies, “I walked in, because I saw you stomp off in a huff from your bedroom.” He sighs before continuing. “Wanting to make sure she was alright, I knocked and when she didn’t answer, I entered. When I did, she was in a horrible mess, ranting and raving about Jeremy so I threw her in the shower to cool off and get ahold of herself.” Walking closer to Eric now, he keeps an eye on him as he says, “This is just before you came in. When I shut off the shower, she walked out and then I was just about to ask her a question when you came through the door.” Eric sta
I wake up groggy and look at the clock, it’s 4:15 but Eric is mumbling something in his sleep with his arm tight around my chest. Not being able to break free, I try to turn over at least but can’t. Instead, I end up staring at the ceiling and listening to every horrible word he says. “Jeremy, yyyou have to stop with the women. I can only take sooooo many.” He slurs and there are several moments when he just stops before finishing the sentence. Hearing him speak, makes me want to curl up and die because I realize that he is talking about yesterday. Lying there, I silently cry because I know what he has done is wrong. The problem is I have done the same thing before. Haven’t I? I know that it was not to the same extent, but the sheer fact is that I cheated on him and now he has gotten his revenge. Feeling him start to move, I try to wiggle from his grasp, but I don’t succeed. Instead, he m
