"Are you comfy, Raven?" Ryder asks, looking extremely concerned for my well being.
"Yes, you are spoiling me. I will have to tell Eric when I get back, that you treat me better than he ever has." I say with a mischievious grin.
Playing the two brothers on each other might be fun. After all, Ryder is treating me as if I am his mate. I could get used to this attention from two men. Laughing, I am just kidding myself, because I know full well that I am so in love with Eric I could never cheat on him, even with his twin brother who looks just like him.
Ryder is the more passionate and caring one, but Eric is my total Alpha male. He is strong, confident, egotistical, possessive and intelligent. If I had the two combined, it would make the most perfect male I could have ever imagined. So when I sit here and stare at Ryder wishing Eric was more passionate and caring, I also would wish that Ryder was more co
"Help me, please?" I hear out of nowhere and a lot of screaming. I smell fire and realize too late that the house just down the way is on fire after I look out the window. Not knowing what to do, I jump out of bed and leave the security of my bedroom. Searching the house, I can't find Ryder or anyone else and hope that they are already there. Running for it, I manage to get there in a matter of seconds and notice that it is eerily quiet except for the raging roar of the fire. No one else is here and when I search around, I see no evidence of anyone ever being here. Where is everyone? The screaming I previously heard is gone too, but replaced with a strange humming sound in my head, as if someone is purposely blocking my senses. Turning around to find Ryder, I feel a pain surge throughout my head and hear a thud. Waking up, I find myself back in bed and not knowing what has just happened. How did I ge
"Get out of the way." Ryder yells at me as he rams the front door before entering to try and save anyone in the house. As soon as he breaks it open he runs in, head down and with his shirt pulled over him so the fire doesn't burn him too badly. Now I get it, the scene in front of me is the exact same one as in my dream/premonition. I stand helpless, while I wait for him to emerge from the burning house. I don't see him immediately, but in a few minutes when I think for sure that he's dead, he comes barrelling out of the building with two pups over his shoulders. He drops them at my feet and runs back in. A minute later, there is a back draft and the windows blow out of the house. Crying, I look on as Ryder runs back out carrying the mother and father, but I can tell that at least the mother isn't going to make it. Her body is badly burned and the father is unconscious to say the least. With the two pups la
"Get down." Ryder says, as he fends off a rogue right before he claws me in the stomach. Somehow they must have found out that I am pregnant with Eric's pups and now they are desperately trying to get rid of all of us. I hear Ryder growl as he changes into his wolf and looks beautiful in the moonlight. The white fur has a hint of black in it and when the moonlight shines on it, I could swear I see silver. Hearing fangs on bone, crunching and gnashing, I try my best to stay out of the way. In the end, my wolf takes over and I start to change form. A rogue attacks me and before Ryder can stop her, she connects with my stomach. I curl up defensively and land on my side, even in my wolf form I am painfully aware of the pups inside. Hoping for the best, I wait it out and in a few minutes, the attack is over. Eventually changing back, Ryder picks me up and takes me over to the doctor's house. He yells out
"Wake up." I hear far off in the distance as I open my eyes and see a bright light on me. Trying to stay awake, I force my eyes to keep open and stare at the wall so the light doesn't cause me to go blind. "Doc. Can you move the light over a little, it's right in my eyes?" I ask almost as a whisper because I seem to have absolutely no strength left in me. He reaches up and moves it so the light is just over a little, but he still can see while he is operating on me. Quickly glancing down, I see that he has my stomach open and he is desperately trying to save my pups lives. He says, "Now that you are awake, I can tell you what is going on. First of all, the reason why you don't feel anything is because I had to give you a spinal tap. This way I can work on you and the babies while you are conscious. Now the most important reason why you have to be conscious is, Ryder told me you can hear them in
"It's lunch time." Cindy says excitedly as she brings in my food. All the aromas mixed together smell delicious and my stomach starts to growl. "Apparently, you were just on time. My stomach is protesting and growling." I laugh and Cindy winks at me. "Thank you, this looks delicious. I hope everyone else is having such a wonderful lunch?" I ask her politely. She answers, "Nope. You need your strength, so I whipped up something special just for you. Everyone else is having soup for lunch." "Oh, well thank you. I hope you have a good day today." I respond thoughtfully, before she nods and leaves to go make soup for the pups. When I open the container, my mouth instantly waters. I look down and notice that she has made me pot roast with mashed potatoes and beef gravy. Steamed carrots and peas, with a glass of milk on the side. Appreciating everyt
"Shit! Get down." I hear Eric yell as I fall to the floor trying to escape the bullets. The stench of Wolf's Bane perforates the air and my eye's start to sting. The next thing I know, I am laying flat on my back and there are rogues standing over me with shotguns in their hands. Scared, I find myself wondering something. This is very strange, because our kind don't usually use guns. We prefer to hunt and attack in beast form, not use human devices. So why is it that these rogues are weaponized? When I try to move, I realize that I can't and look down to see my arms and legs handcuffed to the legs of the bed. Turning my head, I glare at the rogue in the corner and he quickly comes over and hits me with the butt of his gun, knocking me back out. Coming to, I smell smoke and open my eyes to see the house burning around me. I work at freeing myself and slip the cuffs off of me, standing up I look
"Hey you, come here." I point to the little one and gesture for her to sit next to me. She wiggles and squirms while I braid her hair. Helping Cindy watch the pups after dinner, I take turns with all the little girls. When I am all done, I help clean up the mess of toys in the corner of the play area. Cindy asks, "Is everything going to quiet down now?" Shrugging, I hesitate and then answer some what unsure of myself, "You know, I don't have a clue. It's been a couple days and no attacks, but that doesn't mean they have quit. If anything it worries me more." She frowns and stares at the little ones playing duck duck goose. When she turns back to me, she says, "I won't be able to take anymore of this. When the pack house burnt down, I didn't know if the kids were in it or not. I almost ran inside, but Alpha Eric stopped me just in time. He let me know that they were safe." Thankful tha
Deciding to have a talk with her before Eric does, I rush downstairs first thing in the morning. Going into the kitchen, I approach her and ask, "What is your problem?" On the defensive, she turns away from the stove and faces me. She answers mildly annoyed, "I beg your pardon?" Walking closer, I don't see the steak knife in her hand, but feel that something is really off. I ask cautiously, "Do you really hate me this much that you would intentionally try to get rid of me or do you want Eric so much you would? I can understand the later, but I have never done anything to you so why would you hate me?" She walks over to me with the knife in her pocket and stands within a few inches of me, before she says rather loudly, "I could never hate you. It had nothing to do with that. Honestly, it had everything to do with the fact that I owed someone for saving my life and now I have repaid them." She produces the knife from he
Sitting there for the longest time, I have yet to figure out exactly what to do. I put my face in my hands and start to sob, but then I stop and stand when my cheek starts to ache again. Touching it, I press in and hear something clicking. Walking over to the mirror, I stare at my reflection. A broken woman looks back at me. Someone who once was proud and stood tall, I am now shattered and a mere shadow of myself. Today, I thought it was the end for me and the scary fact is that I had come to terms with everything. I forgave everyone and yet there is something that still bothers me. Eric said that he hasn’t been the Alpha I need him to be. What he doesn’t realize is that I don’t need him as an alpha, just my mate. He is everything I need and more, but because he feels like he failed me he has become someone else, and I see it in his eyes. The disappointment and sadness, but mostly regret.
“Crash” The whole house shakes as the sound reverberates through out every room. From upstairs, I hear someone screaming and then as soon as I get my bearings, I rush down to find out what has happened. The next thing I know, my face is buried in the pillows on the couch and there is someone over me with his hand on my head, not letting me move. I hear a man speak in a low deliberate voice, “I presume that you are Raven the Luna of the Wild Fang Walkers and Alpha Eric’s mate.” Staring at me as he waits for my response, I say nothing. “Alright, so we know that you are one in the same and I have been sent here to take you back to my boss, the King pin of Avalon City. Apparently the two of you, have done quite a bit of damage to the syndicate and they don’t appreciate it. They have sat back long enough and tolerated your presence. So, from this moment on, the humans rule this planet, not your kind. By the way, has anyo
It has been 2 years since the war with the humans. When Eric stomped them down, the mafia bosses seemed to not want any more to do with us. Just as long as we don’t leave our territory, and they don’t leave theirs we all get along. “Momma, momma.” “Momma.” Turning to Hope and Justin, I smile and then take one in each arm before standing up. Kissing them on the head, I remember when things weren’t going so well. My world is different now though, because everyone respects me and when I say something, there are no more doubts. Of course, Eric might have something to do with that. The moment someone even thinks about it, Eric rips their throats out and doesn’t give them a second chance, because he is a powerful adversary all on his own and with me by his side, we are unstoppable. Not to mention, now that the pups are growing big and strong, he would never let anything happen to them ever again. As I carry
As soon as word gets out that I am about to get out of the clinic, Eric comes rushing in with a dozen red roses and a huge smile on his handsome face. The last few days, he has been staying at the clinic, but this morning he ran off and I didn’t know why till now. I stare at him as he waits patiently for the doctor to walk in and check me over. Hearing the doctor from the other room, we both glance at each other and smile. The door opens and then the doctor peers in, checking to make sure he isn’t intruding before he enters the room. Eric immediately starts pacing because I can tell he can’t wait to get me out of here. After all, tonight is a full moon. Still holding the roses, he remembers that he is carrying them and leans forward so I can smell. So, I close my eyes and take a breath in through my nose. The scent fills me, and I make a “Mm” Sound. When the doctor walks over to me and listens to my heart, he gl
“Raven, do you know where Lizzy went? The pups are hungry, and she isn’t anywhere to be found. I don’t like the fact that people disappear far too frequently around here. We have to start doing something about it.” He stares at me with a frown before waiting for me to answer. “Well, I can take care of the pups food needs for the moment, but we have to find someone who will actually be here full time. I thought she was responsible enough, but maybe she found her mate and they have gone off somewhere to be alone. Who knows?” He nods and then leans down before giving me a kiss on the lips that feels more like he is thinking of something else. His eyes wander to the window before he walks off and disappears out the door. Staring after him, I put down my book and stand up to go to the kitchen, when I hear a strange noise in the bathroom. Cocking my head, I listen for a minute longer. Nothing, but the minute I s
“Bang” “Boom” My eyes hurt and feel puffy, but when I wake up it is pale in comparison to the sharp pain still in my shoulder. Now I am beginning to wonder if the blow to my skull hasn’t caused me to hallucinate, because I hear loud noises in the next room and Eric’s voice again. He is shouting out asking, “Where is she? I know you have her.” “Boom” “Crash” “Boom” Sitting there, I notice something after a little while. Everything grows quiet and right before Jeremy’s face peers through the door, I see someone sitting in the corner staring at me. It is a bit odd, but I dismiss it quickly as also part of my imagination till he turns the light on, and I see it is not. Jeremy walks in and then I see an older grey-haired man who looks to be almost 7 foot tall. His eyes are wide and a shade of blue that is so bright that it looks unreal. I can smell his cologne from a mile away and it makes m
“I knew that Eric’s little bitch wasn’t very strong. I am frankly surprised that he chose you in the first place. He could have had any number of women. Matter of fact, even now after having human women, he still prefers you and I have no idea why.” Jeremy’s face is so close to me that I feel the spittle running down my face as he speaks vehemently towards me. As I feel someone yank me backwards and to my feet by my upper arms sharply, I wince in pain when I feel my shoulder dislocate. I hear a popping noise and then close my eyes in pain and agony. Writhing around, I grimace when he forces me to look at him. “Look at me bitch! You are a female dog after all.” He stares into my eyes as close as he possibly can before he snaps his teeth together, acting like he is going to bite my nose off. “I bite too you know?” He winks at me and then shows me his biggest Cheshire Cat smile. They yank me har
“It’s not what it looks like. I promise.” Ryder turns around to face Eric and tries to explain. “Hmm. Let’s see. My mate is wet and naked, you are touching her chin and it looks like you just kissed her. Exactly what is it then?” I can already see the rage in Eric’s eyes from clear across the room. Ryder glances from me to Eric and then replies, “I walked in, because I saw you stomp off in a huff from your bedroom.” He sighs before continuing. “Wanting to make sure she was alright, I knocked and when she didn’t answer, I entered. When I did, she was in a horrible mess, ranting and raving about Jeremy so I threw her in the shower to cool off and get ahold of herself.” Walking closer to Eric now, he keeps an eye on him as he says, “This is just before you came in. When I shut off the shower, she walked out and then I was just about to ask her a question when you came through the door.” Eric sta
I wake up groggy and look at the clock, it’s 4:15 but Eric is mumbling something in his sleep with his arm tight around my chest. Not being able to break free, I try to turn over at least but can’t. Instead, I end up staring at the ceiling and listening to every horrible word he says. “Jeremy, yyyou have to stop with the women. I can only take sooooo many.” He slurs and there are several moments when he just stops before finishing the sentence. Hearing him speak, makes me want to curl up and die because I realize that he is talking about yesterday. Lying there, I silently cry because I know what he has done is wrong. The problem is I have done the same thing before. Haven’t I? I know that it was not to the same extent, but the sheer fact is that I cheated on him and now he has gotten his revenge. Feeling him start to move, I try to wiggle from his grasp, but I don’t succeed. Instead, he m
