Howard laughed. “I thought you’d forgotten me again.”

He looked around but did not see Blair. “What a coincidence. Are you shopping alone? Didn’t Blair accompany you?”

“He’s at the office. I’m just wandering around by myself and don’t need company.”

Howard looked at her. “I’m also alone now. Let’s have a meal together.”

Mable hesitated. She remembered that Blair said Howard used to pursue her.

If Blair were to find out that she had a meal with Howard, he would probably be jealous.
