Mable stared at the photo, feeling an inexplicable tightness in her chest.

Why did they look so happy in the photo? Blair radiated such a sense of happiness.

Mable furrowed her brow, feeling a strange mix of familiarity. She stood up and put the photo back in the drawer out of her sight.

"Mabes," Blair's voice came from behind.

Mable turned to see Blair standing at the door. He walked in and glanced at the table, his eyes subtly flickering before he spoke, "Your room is next door, and I've put your things in there. Let me show you."

"Sure. Thank you." Mable nodded and followed Blair to the next door.

Mable’s promises to Blair to return to Richworth were not without conditions. First and foremost, they were to sleep in separate rooms, which Blair agreed to.

Mable stayed in the master bedroom while Blair stayed in the room opposite.
