Chapter 5

"Mommy!"

Ralin's arrival was greeted enthusiastically by Kenra; the boy spread his arms.

Awww

"Don't lift it; Kenra's hand still hurts." Ralin reprimanded him and then approached his daughter, "Just put a cast on his hand, OK?" persuaded Ralin.

"No, Mommy, Kenra's hands will look bigger later," she said with a frown.

"It's OK, dear, that's so that Kenra's hands don't move much," said Ralin giving understanding.

"Kenra would look ugly and disfigured."

Ralin shook his head seeing Kenra, who seemed to want always to look perfect; she was Kenzi's daughter.

Ralin scooped her cheeks gently, "Kenra is still beautiful, the cast is only so that Kenra can recover quickly, and then she can write again and study, hmmm, or comb mommy's hair.

How about that?" Ralin explained with a smile that it is not easy to understand a critical childlike Kenra.

"If Kenra wears a cast, are we going home?"

Ralin nodded, smiling, "And Kenra can play again." he added.

"Hooray!" she cheered, "Kenra wants a cast."

Ralin went to call the doctor, informing him that Kenra was ready to have his cast placed.

"You've been here long?" Petra had just returned from buying food.

"Just now, my boss gave me leave to care for Kenra," said Ralin. They stood watching the doctor who was treating Kenra's hand.

"Wow, awesome, what a boss."

"Yeah, I'm relieved to be able to look after Kenra finally," Ralin remembered his boss, who was said by employees to be very cold and indifferent, apparently not to him. Darren cares.

"Oh yeah, the guy who ran over Kenra came apologizing." Petra just remembered Kenzi.

Suddenly Ralin was silent; his expression changed between fear and discomfort.

"Why? He's not evil. Instead, he came to apologize to Kenra. Unfortunately, you're not here." Peter added. He thought that Ralin must be afraid of being sued again.

"I'm fine," said Ralin. He then accompanied the doctor, who had finished checking Kenra's condition.

"Doctor!" he called. The doctor turned and smiled at Ralin, "Has the doctor contacted the man who hit my daughter?" Ralin looked doubtful, but his curiosity was great.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Mrs Ralin, Mr Kenzi still wants to meet Kenra and you to apologize in person." The doctor had said it, but Kenzi still wanted to come.

Ralin smiled awkwardly, "Then I'll excuse you, Doc!" Ralin wanted to turn back to Kenra's room.

"Wait!" The doctor restrained him. "Did you know Mr Kenzi before?" The doctor's question made Ralin silent, "Sorry if I ask, but you seem very uncomfortable with Mr Kenzi."

"Nothing, Doc, I don't know him, excuse me!" Ralin left quickly, even though no one knew he had ever had contact with Kenzi, but he seemed afraid of the doctor's question.

"Strange, he should be happy that his daughter is given responsibility, and he is willing to apologize." The doctor mumbled as he stared at Ralin's departure.

At the company

Kenzi had just arrived, but Darren was already getting ready to leave.

"You look bored," said Darren, who followed Kenzi, who was already sitting on the black couch in his room.

"Who isn't bored? You're not like before, taking me to explore this place," said Kenzi.

Darren, leaning back, folded his arms on his chest, "I have a lot of work to do." Then exhale slowly.

"Since when did work become your obstacle?

You're the boss; all you have to do is give orders to your subordinates." Kenzi felt that Darren was different this time.

"In less than a month, a new product will launch; I have to make sure everything goes well." Darren is contemplating the concept of the event, which has yet to be decided on what it will be like.

"Darren meant it this time; I was blown away." Whether it's praise or ridicule, Darren responded with a chuckle.

I'm glad you're finally not focused on looking for that girl anymore. At least you can say you've moved on, pal." Who doesn't know about Darren, who has never had a special girlfriend since long ago?

"Not moving on, rather I'm happy," interrupted Darren.

Kenzi straightened his body that was initially leaning back; he became more and more enthusiastic about wanting to know. Judging from his cheerful face, Kenzi guessed that his best friend must have a lover.

"The woman I like works at this company," he said, thinking of Ralin.

"Wow!" Kenzi chuckled happily, "Where is she? I want to see her. What kind of woman makes Darren never glance at other women." Kenzi was even more curious; he wanted to be introduced to that woman.

"He is a new designer; his design will be the main product at the launch later," said Darren. She felt happy, especially when she learned about Ralin's status as a single mother.

"Don't explain anything; I want to see it now." Kenzi was impatient.

"No, I'm afraid you'll like it." Darren would not allow it.

Tsk

"You think our tastes are the same. The Violin is enough for me; I won't like anyone else.

What else is my best friend's target woman? Now tell me, where is the room?" Kenzi was about to stand up. He just wanted to look directly at the woman.

"He's in the hospital," Darren said.

"Then let's visit!" Kenzi took Darren without asking who was sick.

He was going to go, but not with Kenzi, but it seemed impossible because Kenzi was already very curious.

Their car slid through the slightly congested streets because it was getting late afternoon, doubling the activity on the road.

Kenzi didn't forget to stop the car at the flower shop; he stared at Violin's favourite rose, Kenzi wanted to take it, but he remembered that all different women could be other women who Darren adores; he took a lily flower and asked the shopkeeper to wrap it.

Darren, who witnessed this, only shook his head but didn't stop Kenzi from doing it. Unbeknownst to him, his daughter was sick, not his mother.

Darren observed Kenzi, who was in the shop. He then thought, what if Kenzi knew the woman already had a child? Would she be this enthusiastic about supporting Darren?

His thoughts were cut short when Kenzi got into the car. Darren mentioned the hospital, and Kenzi already knew; he remembered Kenra.

He may visit the little girl who stole his heart and hopes to meet his parents and apologize.

Not only was Darren happy, but Kenzi was too. Just thinking about Kenra was able to carve a smile on his lips.

The car has been parked neatly. The two handsome men got off, not forgetting that Darren brought the flowers that Kenzi had chosen earlier.

They entered the hospital. "Darren, I think I have to go to the toilet now." Kenzi wanted to deflate his bladder, "Just tell me where the room is, and I'll follow," he said as if he couldn't take it anymore.

"Just to the nursery; I'll go first!" Darren left him. Kenzipun went to find the nearest toilet.

Every time he went to the hospital, his body always asked to go to the toilet; when he was done, he returned to the way he was before and headed to the children's room.

Of course, Kenzi knew where the leak was, but it was when she realized what Darren was going to the nursery for.

Could this woman already have children?

Kenzi shuddered a little; why should a successful entrepreneur Darren fall for a woman with children?

"Thank You!" Ralin received a lily flower from his boss. Ralin smiled because he liked the flower.

"Mommy, those flowers are for Kenra, not Mommy," the little girl protested.

Darren was surprised to hear that, like someone jealous, that's what he saw.

"Mommy just kept it, honey." Ralin gently explained it. This made Darren fall even more in love with him. The gentleness and the way she treats Kenra illustrate that she is patient.

He didn't care. Even though Ralin already had a daughter for Darren, his joy had not diminished one bit from the past until now.

Darren wanted to express his feelings to Ralin as soon as possible.

Until a voice averted his gaze.

"Darren!"

Not with Ralin, whose heart suddenly seemed to stop beating, that sound, that sound. Ralin did not forget one bit. A voice that often curses, insults and calls it a slut.
