"Shadow, no!" Keisha shouted as the maid following them shrieked. She immediately covered her mouth and bowed her head as Keisha stepped forward to stop Shadow's outburst. He was welcomed to the mansion to visit Keisha but after he arrived, he immediately attacked Eros. He's in dangerous territory but he did not care.
"What did you do to her?!" Shadow shouted profusely as he pinned Eros to the ground. He breathed with fury seen in his eyes. His fist and jaw clenched in anger. Eros, on the other hand, was calm. Too calm for his own well-being.
"Shadow, stop it." Keisha bent over and grabbed his shoulder. She leaned next to his ear and whispered, "Do you want us killed? I'm incapable of combat right now." Irritated, she lightly slapped his head. He breathed heavily before letting go of Eros and standing up.
He turned to Keisha with a concerned face before hugging her. "I regret ignoring your calls. I should've been there and this wouldn't have happened…" he whispered with a sigh of relief that she was okay. He stroked her hair and hugged her tighter.
Keisha felt weirded out by how Eros was staring at her while this was happening. He's standing behind Shadow and staring deeply into Keisha's eyes and emotions plastered on his face. What is Shadow's role in her life that he's this concerned for her?
"He kept you secluded in this place, a fucking dangerous man did. How the fuck can I not get worried?" he whispered with deep sighs and hugged her tightly. Eros is unpredictable and calculates his moves. If he dared to hurt Keisha, no one would have been able to stop him since she was locked here.
"You have nothing to worry about." Her spoken words were the softest melodies to his ears as she caressed his hair. His worries turned to relief. Eros, whose blood was starting to boil, cleared his throat. Keisha gulped and looked away before letting go of her friend.
"I'll get you out of here, you don't need to marry a man like him," he declared before rubbing her shoulders with his hands. "Continue touching her and I'll cut off your fingers," Eros whispered but the depth of his voice, only made it sound more terrifying.
"Shadow–" She wanted to warn him but Eros stared at her.
"If I was someone else, I would've thought the two of you were lovers." As he stepped closer, he towered over Shadow like he was a king looking down on a lowly peasant. His gaze was menacing, and his jaw was clenched. But Shadow would not back down. They are like wolves and Keisha is what they want to dominate.
"You practically kidnapped her, you prick!" Shadow exclaimed in anger, making the mafia boss chuckle.
"Her mother was more than delighted that she was staying here in my mansion." That woman is no mother to Keisha and hearing this from Eros does not surprise her. Of course, that bitch wants her here, she's treating Keisha as a minion that is easily disposed of.
"You have no right"-- Shadow grabbed his collar but Keisha pushed the two men away from one another. Eros was surprised at how she easily separated them despite being bedridden for a week.
"I have no right?" Eros scoffed. "Why not tell him the news, darling?" The word 'darling' sends shivers down her spine but she can do nothing but oblige. He grinned widely while staring at the troubled woman. He knows she will struggle, he knows she would hurt him. More the reason why he wants her to tell him now.
"Shadow– I–" She closed her eyes, trying to get the words out of her mouth. "I can explain the situation…" Shadow's heart rate increased as he anticipated what she had to say.
Eros grew impatient and bored. He grabbed Keisha's waist and pulled her closer to him. Her eyes widened and she stared at his face. She tried pushing him away to no avail. "You shouldn't dare to touch someone else's fiancée. Especially if it's mine," he warned Shadow before looking at Keisha with such a soft gaze.
"You're mine, darling. Don't let any other man try and take you away," he murmured sweetly as his hand traveled to her chin as he held it up to keep her gaze to only him alone. How selfish can a man be?
“She did not agree to marry you,” Shadow tried to correct him. He looked at Keisha who was unable to move. “You don’t have to do this Keisha, I already told you.” It’s as if it will be easy to refuse. Eros did save her life after all. It’s a debt that cannot be easily paid.
“I have already signed the agreement. I will be wed to this man, the mafia boss.” She forced the words out of her mouth. He laughed with dominance before staring at Shadow’s face filled with horror and guilt. She looked down at the ground and Eros softened his grip on her.
(If only I had stopped her, if only I had answered her calls, if only– It’s all what ifs now!) he thought to himself.
“He saved my life, it’s a debt I can’t repay. You need not worry.” She breathed heavily. Her gaze slowly rose, meeting Shadow’s. “Please attend our wedding,” she requested with the smile of a sad bride. Eros was satisfied and the pain around him excited him more.
“Then it’s decided, you’ll be my best man. We’ll be seeing you soon… Shadow,” Eros announced with a smirk. Eros and the woman Shadow is longing for turned around as he stood there defeated. This is all his fault, he blames himself for this mess.
He knows she has a plan but Eros has the upper hand. She’s in his territory, eyes are all on her. A single assassin in a mansion filled with the mafia’s minions is facing death itself. For now, she needs to keep her identity concealed and not make a move.
As they were walking away, Shadow extended her hand to reach and grab for her. She’s so near yet so far and in the hands of another man. How can the gods be so cruel? “If I was born in another life, I would want to live as a normal man.”
This way, the people he loves wouldn’t need to suffer.
A HARD slap across the face is what he needed to endure once he returned to the headquarters. Eros has threatened Keisha’s stepmother to take Shadow out if he dared to cross the line again. “I apologize.” He bowed his head.
“Remember your place, Shadow. Now that she’s in their hands, one wrong move on our part is what will kill her. Create the slightest trouble and you’ll be indirectly killing Keisha.” He hates how she is right. He moved too harshly.
“It won’t happen again.”
“Get ready, we are invited to eat at the mansion. He specifically asked for you to be there.” She left the room and slammed the door behind her.
KEISHA has been brushing her hair for half an hour while staring into oblivion. She needs to find a way to kill him quickly without raising suspicions but it’s far too risky for her to take this path. She has to play the waiting game, nothing she can do is safe. “M-Miss, the master has informed you to finish getting ready. I shall do your hair for you,” the maid approached but she raised her hand for her to stop. “No need, I’ll keep my hair down. You may leave.” She looked at herself in the mirror and found her face too thin. She needs to get back to her usual weight and gain her strength back if she wants to even have a chance to kill him. Avoid emotions, and focus on the mission. "Emotions are what makes people weak…" she whispered to herself. As she made her way down the long staircase of hell, she heard a loud bang downstairs. Her brows furrowed as she tried to figure out what had happened. She picked up her pace and her eyes landed on a woman wearing the same outfit as
"Greetings, Mr. Galaz," Reyna uttered with a glint of joy as her dress swayed as she walked. She was wearing a bright sparkly dress while Keisha looked as if she was going to attend a funeral. She was the sparkling sunshine while Keisha was the dark moonlight. "Thank you for taking care of my daughter," she uttered with much sincerity which made Keisha vomit. What a great actress this woman is. Keisha forced a smile as her mother caressed her back in front of the mafia boss. "It was my pleasure," Eros uttered before winking at her. She scoffed and crossed her arms, not hiding the fact of how displeased she was. "Shadow, why don't you come here?" Reyna requested as she blinked her lashes. Footsteps from behind echoed as everyone stayed silent inside the dining room. Keisha could only keep her gaze on Eros, knowing he might react strangely again. "My apologies for what happened," Shadow apologized as he held his hand on his left chest and bowed down to the mafia boss. That's rig
Keisha’s anxiousness grew as she kept overthinking whether or not Shadow was actually poisoned. She has no contact with the outside and she can’t ask Eros directly. Surely, he would not do that with two witnesses. His bride, and the mother of his bride. But he’s Eros, he can do whatever he wants to. The shimmering sunshine blinded her tired eyes. She did not notice it was already morning. She woke up past midnight and could not sleep anymore. She looked around and found a clock next to her bed indicating it was already six in the morning. She sighed heavily, got out of bed, and walked to the balcony window. She opened the glass doors and the cold morning air touched her skin. She was unbothered, she dealt with torture using dry ice. This was nothing. She walked further to the edge and leaned against the rails, watching over the mansion's lot. The garden was filled with lively flowers while the stables of horses were on the other side. A fountain worth a thousand gold was located i
"What was that?" Eros asked at the dining table. When his brother left and went upstairs, the two separated and quietly went to the dining area where their meals were prepared. The maids left after they settled down and this was when they could have a proper chat. "I heard your conversation. I helped you, and you are welcome," she cockingly uttered before cutting her steak. Eros watched her without doing anything else and she felt weirded out by him. "You heard everything?" he asked and she furrowed her brows. Is he worried she heard that she heard him say something about Keisha betraying him like the last one did? Of course, she heard it too. But it was like a missing puzzle piece, she doesn't know who the last one was or what role does that person play. "If you're not going to eat, leave me alone," she declared before clearing her throat. His stares are uncomfortable. She can't just stay silent either. She needs information but he's being too quiet for her to open a conversat
THE large mirror shattered as the woman threw her phone in its direction. She stared at her face in the broken mirror with missing pieces and cracks everywhere. She was furious at the fact that Eros proposed to another woman only a few weeks after they broke up. What's worse is he made it a public announcement. "How fucking dare he?!" she screamed in annoyance before sitting down on her chair. He definitely did it on purpose to make her blood boil! He proposed to that woman the moment she entered the mall. He's supposed to be hers, no one else's. How dare that woman take Eros away from her? She's an insignificant slut and it's time to teach her a lesson. "Where are they now?" She asked her assistant and the woman gave her the location. She composed herself before leaving her house to create yet another chaos in public. Dana Smith, a manipulator that is part of the underground world. That's how she met Eros, but he threw her away like they did not spend years together. He's cru
Earlier that day, James was following them around since he was curious about what these two were up to. When Keisha left the restaurant, he saw a man wearing a cap approach her. Of course, he couldn't hear their conversation and went closer to investigate. "I'm glad you're fine, Shadow," she whispered with joy. The genuine her. (What an odd name), he thought to himself. James stared at the two and Keisha was above the clouds to see this man again. Her hugs were tight and it was obvious she doesn't want to let go and so does he. Their relationship is a bond that can't be seen with Eros and Keisha. Those eyes, he's only seen that type of stare once in his life. Keisha's eyes were burning with true love, no matter what type it may be. After taking photos of them, he left. He didn't need to listen in on their conversation. AFTER leaving Eros' office with those photos left in his brother's care, he walked around the mansion while looking at old portraits. As he was strolling arou
She stayed there, staring at him in the mirror. It was like the world stopped for a moment before it started to rotate again. She turned around to face him, flustered. "Get out!" she screamed loudly before bending down and taking off her shoes and throwing them at him. He chuckled before leaving and closing the door behind him. "You look great in that dress, Keisha. Why do you not like it?" he questioned behind the door as he leaned back on it. Keisha held her face, feeling flustered. Thank god she hadn't taken off her clothes yet when he entered the room. "I just don't, okay?" she explained, hoping he didn't see the scars on her body. She sighed heavily before hearing the first door open and close. She looked behind her despite not seeing anything. "Leave the dresses. I'll help my fiancée try on her dresses," she heard Eros say. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth to avoid shouting at him. When the woman left the room, Eros snickered. "You- you pervert!" Keisha screamed
EROS entered the underground prison filled with agony and cries of the captured. He was not supposed to come with Keisha to pick out a dress but after finding out Shadow was there, he couldn't help but stop those two from getting close to each other. The pictures he saw made him bloodthirsty. If he didn't have enough self-control, he would've already gutted Shadow the moment they met eye contact. He might as well release his anger here and extract information. The woman who tried to kill him exposed some of the people who helped her enter his mansion. "Are these all of them?" he asked the woman chained up and admitted the truth. He looked at the men chained and kneeling on the ground. He grabbed a whip and slashed one of them in the back as hard as he could. As he slashed them multiple times, he remembered Keisha's back. His parents were not perfect but they've never hurt him like this when he was a mere child. How did Keisha get those scars then? If it was actually her parent
