KEISHA has been brushing her hair for half an hour while staring into oblivion. She needs to find a way to kill him quickly without raising suspicions but it’s far too risky for her to take this path. She has to play the waiting game, nothing she can do is safe.
“M-Miss, the master has informed you to finish getting ready. I shall do your hair for you,” the maid approached but she raised her hand for her to stop.
“No need, I’ll keep my hair down. You may leave.”
She looked at herself in the mirror and found her face too thin. She needs to get back to her usual weight and gain her strength back if she wants to even have a chance to kill him. Avoid emotions, and focus on the mission.
"Emotions are what makes people weak…" she whispered to herself.
As she made her way down the long staircase of hell, she heard a loud bang downstairs. Her brows furrowed as she tried to figure out what had happened. She picked up her pace and her eyes landed on a woman wearing the same outfit as the maid earlier on the ground as Eros stood over her.
The woman crawled to his feet but he kicked her away. The woman screamed and cried as she struggled on the ground. "P-please–" she tried begging but the words would not form.
"Do you want to die?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. The woman whimpered and crawled back to his feet and tried to stand up and beg. Tears were flowing down her cheeks but his gaze was cold and ruthless. He was void of emotions and he can do as he pleases. Not a single one in this mansion can go against his will.
So this is the mafia boss everyone fears.
He raised his hand to slap her away but Keisha grabbed a hold of it. Her firm grip stopped him from abusing the poor woman again. He would not even bat an eye in her direction. "What is wrong with you?" Upon hearing her voice, he turned to face her.
His breathing was heavy and his eyes were sharp. He was a predator, dangerous enough to kill ten men.
Eros was half naked, the buttons on his shirt were undone and she could see his bare chest and muscles. Keisha clenched her jaw and kept her eyes on his. "Abuse of power? No wonder everyone fears you. No one respects you, Eros. They follow your command only because they fear their death." He almost laughed at her remark yet he kept his composure.
The nerve of this woman. He dares to speak in such a way to the mafia boss himself? She's brave yet her bravery can get her killed if she was anyone else. But she was not just anyone, she is Keisha Lexington.
Eros might be the mafia boss that everyone fears but Keisha is the assassin that fears no one.
"What do you know? You only got here a moment ago." He paused. "Take her away for interrogation." A man wearing black appeared out of nowhere and dragged the maid out of the mansion. Her screams echoed until it all faded.
Keisha was too tense to notice. Only now that she saw he was injured. His left chest is bleeding with a cut on it. "She was a spy and tried to end my life." Keisha's grip on his hand loosened and he pulled himself away. He fixed his clothes before turning around and walking away.
Her mouth was open as she realized what happened. That woman could've been her if she tried to kill him outright. That would be her future if she fails her mission.
The mansion was dark and the mood was gloomy. She forgot her place and acted outright. Emotions should be avoided yet she went against her own words. "I just couldn't stand someone being abused." She sighed heavily, remembering the trauma that chained her to be what she is now.
"Is that an excuse for me to forgive you?" Keisha almost jumped when she felt his breath against her nape. Fascinating. She didn't even notice him, he was one with the mansion. "I don't need your forgiveness." She avoids all emotions and never lets her guard down.
She took a step forward and he scoffed. "Forgetting I saved your life?" he asked as she turned her head with glaring eyes.
"Forgetting you locked me in this marriage?" she asked, annoyed. He chuckled lightly and stepped closer to her. He held her chin up as he looked down with a smile. "No, darling. I know exactly what I did and I have no ounce of regret." He's the most handsome man she has ever seen yet the most terrifying.
"Why me?" she asked, anticipating the answer.
He paused for a moment. He stared deeply into her eyes before answering, "The more I spend time with you, the more I want you. Tell me, Keisha, what makes you special?" Her brows furrowed in confusion. Why is he asking her?
"Special? I'm no such thing." (The only special thing about me is I'm a killing machine and trained to kill a mafia boss such as yourself), she thought to herself.
He let go of her and put his hands in his pocket. "Your little lover is coming over for dinner, I hope he enjoys the food." She tensed as she felt like it was a threat. Did he poison the food?
"He is not my lover," she answered with irritation. He raised an eyebrow and leaned his face close to hers and she backed off. "He's like a brother to me…" she murmured.
"But he loves you, that's why I'm taking you for myself. I'd love to see him go crazy at the thought of another man stealing his beloved away." Their conversation was interrupted when a maid announced that the guests have arrived.
"Greetings, Mr. Galaz," Reyna uttered with a glint of joy as her dress swayed as she walked. She was wearing a bright sparkly dress while Keisha looked as if she was going to attend a funeral. She was the sparkling sunshine while Keisha was the dark moonlight. "Thank you for taking care of my daughter," she uttered with much sincerity which made Keisha vomit. What a great actress this woman is. Keisha forced a smile as her mother caressed her back in front of the mafia boss. "It was my pleasure," Eros uttered before winking at her. She scoffed and crossed her arms, not hiding the fact of how displeased she was. "Shadow, why don't you come here?" Reyna requested as she blinked her lashes. Footsteps from behind echoed as everyone stayed silent inside the dining room. Keisha could only keep her gaze on Eros, knowing he might react strangely again. "My apologies for what happened," Shadow apologized as he held his hand on his left chest and bowed down to the mafia boss. That's rig
Keisha’s anxiousness grew as she kept overthinking whether or not Shadow was actually poisoned. She has no contact with the outside and she can’t ask Eros directly. Surely, he would not do that with two witnesses. His bride, and the mother of his bride. But he’s Eros, he can do whatever he wants to. The shimmering sunshine blinded her tired eyes. She did not notice it was already morning. She woke up past midnight and could not sleep anymore. She looked around and found a clock next to her bed indicating it was already six in the morning. She sighed heavily, got out of bed, and walked to the balcony window. She opened the glass doors and the cold morning air touched her skin. She was unbothered, she dealt with torture using dry ice. This was nothing. She walked further to the edge and leaned against the rails, watching over the mansion's lot. The garden was filled with lively flowers while the stables of horses were on the other side. A fountain worth a thousand gold was located i
"What was that?" Eros asked at the dining table. When his brother left and went upstairs, the two separated and quietly went to the dining area where their meals were prepared. The maids left after they settled down and this was when they could have a proper chat. "I heard your conversation. I helped you, and you are welcome," she cockingly uttered before cutting her steak. Eros watched her without doing anything else and she felt weirded out by him. "You heard everything?" he asked and she furrowed her brows. Is he worried she heard that she heard him say something about Keisha betraying him like the last one did? Of course, she heard it too. But it was like a missing puzzle piece, she doesn't know who the last one was or what role does that person play. "If you're not going to eat, leave me alone," she declared before clearing her throat. His stares are uncomfortable. She can't just stay silent either. She needs information but he's being too quiet for her to open a conversat
THE large mirror shattered as the woman threw her phone in its direction. She stared at her face in the broken mirror with missing pieces and cracks everywhere. She was furious at the fact that Eros proposed to another woman only a few weeks after they broke up. What's worse is he made it a public announcement. "How fucking dare he?!" she screamed in annoyance before sitting down on her chair. He definitely did it on purpose to make her blood boil! He proposed to that woman the moment she entered the mall. He's supposed to be hers, no one else's. How dare that woman take Eros away from her? She's an insignificant slut and it's time to teach her a lesson. "Where are they now?" She asked her assistant and the woman gave her the location. She composed herself before leaving her house to create yet another chaos in public. Dana Smith, a manipulator that is part of the underground world. That's how she met Eros, but he threw her away like they did not spend years together. He's cru
Earlier that day, James was following them around since he was curious about what these two were up to. When Keisha left the restaurant, he saw a man wearing a cap approach her. Of course, he couldn't hear their conversation and went closer to investigate. "I'm glad you're fine, Shadow," she whispered with joy. The genuine her. (What an odd name), he thought to himself. James stared at the two and Keisha was above the clouds to see this man again. Her hugs were tight and it was obvious she doesn't want to let go and so does he. Their relationship is a bond that can't be seen with Eros and Keisha. Those eyes, he's only seen that type of stare once in his life. Keisha's eyes were burning with true love, no matter what type it may be. After taking photos of them, he left. He didn't need to listen in on their conversation. AFTER leaving Eros' office with those photos left in his brother's care, he walked around the mansion while looking at old portraits. As he was strolling arou
She stayed there, staring at him in the mirror. It was like the world stopped for a moment before it started to rotate again. She turned around to face him, flustered. "Get out!" she screamed loudly before bending down and taking off her shoes and throwing them at him. He chuckled before leaving and closing the door behind him. "You look great in that dress, Keisha. Why do you not like it?" he questioned behind the door as he leaned back on it. Keisha held her face, feeling flustered. Thank god she hadn't taken off her clothes yet when he entered the room. "I just don't, okay?" she explained, hoping he didn't see the scars on her body. She sighed heavily before hearing the first door open and close. She looked behind her despite not seeing anything. "Leave the dresses. I'll help my fiancée try on her dresses," she heard Eros say. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth to avoid shouting at him. When the woman left the room, Eros snickered. "You- you pervert!" Keisha screamed
EROS entered the underground prison filled with agony and cries of the captured. He was not supposed to come with Keisha to pick out a dress but after finding out Shadow was there, he couldn't help but stop those two from getting close to each other. The pictures he saw made him bloodthirsty. If he didn't have enough self-control, he would've already gutted Shadow the moment they met eye contact. He might as well release his anger here and extract information. The woman who tried to kill him exposed some of the people who helped her enter his mansion. "Are these all of them?" he asked the woman chained up and admitted the truth. He looked at the men chained and kneeling on the ground. He grabbed a whip and slashed one of them in the back as hard as he could. As he slashed them multiple times, he remembered Keisha's back. His parents were not perfect but they've never hurt him like this when he was a mere child. How did Keisha get those scars then? If it was actually her parent
KEISHA stood inside the closet while covering her mouth. The screams of her mother echoed as she begged endlessly to keep her daughter alive. There was a deafening sound of groans and punches her father endured as he was beaten to death. All Keisha could do was to keep herself quiet and watch them through the small crack on the closet. The tears fell down her cheeks since she was helpless. What can a five-year-old girl do in this situation? One sound from her would cause her to lose her life. She did not believe in god anymore after this. How can he let both of her parents die as she watched helplessly? Loud gunshots and explosions made her feel weaker. Her legs collapsed on her while trying to silence out the noises she was hearing. Her parents taught her well. If there was an attack, she should save herself even if she can't save them. She was only five yet she knew that she would never see them again. Her ears started to ring from the explosions and gunshots. The lock of th
