Nelly thought that there was no way Gerald really loved North. Thus, she assumed that North would have to go pick them out herself.

She was also insinuating that North did not have a good position in upper-class society and only knew people who were not worth mentioning. And thus, she was not worthy of Gerald.

It was not true that Nelly was making this phone call to help her. Nelly was trying to subtly insult her while pretending to be nice.

North combed through her hair. “Ms. Nelly, you’re worried that I won’t find a designer to design my wedding ring?”

Nelly sounded resigned. “That’s right. Socialites all have their own personal designers. You’re Gerald’s wife, North. Wedding rings are a huge deal that you must take seriously. If you just get any old pair, people will laugh.

“I was worried that you wouldn’t know about these things and wouldn’t be able to find the right designer. That’s why I wanted to help you.”

An idea came to North. “Oh. Which designer do you have in mind, Ms
