Gerald’s warm breath tickled North’s ear and made her face heat up. She said drily, “I assumed you don’t think of us as a married couple, Mr. Howard.”

Gerald looked up and suddenly let out a sullen laugh. “So, you’re jealous.”

Prompted by her shame, North abruptly felt angry. She was so not jealous! She was only angry!

Gerald cut off her daydreaming. “Are you angry because of the billion dollars?”

North turned away from Gerald and said stiffly, “That’s your money. You can give it to whoever you want. It has nothing to do with me.”

Gerald immediately understood what North was upset about.

“I’m not close to Reina. I’ve already gotten someone to deal with the trending topic on Twitter.”

North shot a look at him. She could not help but say sarcastically, “Reina’s fans say no man can withstand her charisma. It seems that is true. You’re not close with her, but you could give her a billion dollars. If you were closer, would I still have any place by your side, Mr. Howard?”
