Charlotte’s POV

I finally feel better now that I've given Ricardo the flash drive, and he's sent it to the El Capitol building. By now, everyone at the high table knows how their Mafia King lied to them and wasted all their hard work.

Debris from the building caught fire, and former Mafia King Elliot Peters' legacy will be laid to rest in hell.

Afterward, word got around that Elliot had been found dead in his own home, severely burned to death; whoever was responsible for his demise did a masterful job.

ONE MONTH LATER,

At the graveyard, everyone came to honor Fabian Collins, who used to be a Mafia boss, and his wife, Abby Miller. My eyes welled up with tears as I looked up at the gray sky and thought in my mind, "I hope you're proud of me, Mom and Dad." I brushed away the tears as I cast my gaze upwards. "I really miss you."

No one should have to die—not the pregnant woman who was unintentionally implicated in the hit-and-run, nor her husband, who was only trying to help me.
