5. Find Me A Wife

Santiago’s POV

"You don't want to kiss me?"

Her cheeks reddened, and she replied, "I mean, I'm your secretary; you should not kiss your secretary, sir."

"I wanted to know more about you." I said as I pulled away from her.

I smiled at her, and she said, "There's not much more to know about me."

Then I urged, "Go on, I can listen."

"Like any other girl, I just live a normal life. My mom is in the hospital, and I have two younger brothers."

That's why I saw her the other day with her phone. She was waiting for her younger brother to call her because she wanted to know what was happening with their mother daily. Poor Beatrice, life must be tough on her.

"What happened to your mother?" I asked.

"She has a terminal illness," she remarked, her lip clenched tightly.

"I'm sorry to hear that."

She let out a sigh and went into the living room. I immediately followed her. She looked at me and said, "Uh, yeah... I thought she would be okay, but things kept getting worse as time went on."
