"PLEASE give her some sparkling juice instead," Damon said as the butler brought out the wine.

My fake smile disappeared, especially when our eyes met, and I saw what he was trying to convey. He really thought I was addicted to alcohol and drugs and that he was going to save me by sending me to rehab... to cleanse me!

"Right away, Sir!"

The butler brought out another bottle, and our first course arrived quickly. I watched them set the food down, frowning and wanting to speak up, especially every time I saw Damon looking at me. He knew he had insulted me again, and he also knew what was coming once we were alone.

The butler excused himself to give us privacy, standing a short distance away and checking in occasionally for our next course. I waited until he left before speaking. I caught Damon sipping his drink as I started.

"You asshole. You really think I'm an alcoholic?" I whispered, blending into the classical music playing.

He set down his glass and wiped his mouth.
