Chapter 9

I SAT on the round sofa, directly across from the fitting room, waiting for Damon to finish putting on his tux. I crossed my arms and started to get bored.

After a while, Damon came out from behind the curtains. It took a lot of effort to keep my expression neutral. I clenched my jaw to avoid showing any surprise when I saw him.

"It suits him perfectly!" one of the assistants exclaimed.

A few more people came over to compliment him. Damon looked at me, showing off his tux.

"Do you like it, or should we find another one?"

"We don't have time. The wedding is soon. That one will do," I managed to say with a very indifferent tone.

Damon shrugged. The assistants fell silent, so he nodded at them. "This is fine, then. Sorry, I need to decide now. We're both excited to get married."

I almost snorted, noticing how the assistants seemed to pick up on the tension between us.
