Emily’s nanny immediately stepped out to look for Cassandra, who lived five houses away on the opposite side of the street. She prayed to find Cassandra at home so they could spend enough time together.

At least this would distract her from the wedding preparations, which had been weighing heavily on her mind. She hoped to see her cheerful once again.

In no time, Emily’s nanny reached her destination and knocked, waiting for someone to answer.

Soon, the doorman opened the door. “Hello, miss. How can I help you?”

“Hello, I’m looking for Cassandra. I’m Emily’s nanny,” she said. The doorman raised an eyebrow, signaling he didn’t recognize the name.

“Uh, Emily is Cassandra’s friend. Just tell her Emily wants to see her.”

The doorman nodded, closed the door, and went back inside. She waited a few moments, though standing too long strained her legs and back. Still, she remained strong for Emily.
