The previous chapter is sort of short because of an error I made while uploading it. I have updated the chapter and it should take effect in the next twenty four hours. I apologize for the error. It’s also important to read the complete version of the last chapter before reading this one. Thank you.
"Viola's going to New York." Leonardo said as he watched his pack soldiers chain Jack's werewolves to his dungeons stone walls. "Oh yea?" Loki said with zero interest. He didn't really care. Leonardo nodded. "Yes. I was just thinking since the Bureau's headquarters is in New York maybe we can go for the meeting after all." Loki nodded."That makes sense. Are you taking Viola with you?" he asked and Leonardo shrugged. He wanted to ask her. He would like to know if she would at least be receptive to the idea. "I think I'll just ask her. See if she wants to go." He said and Loki nodded. "Okay. That's cool. I'll send the Bureau a letter. Let them know we will be attending after all." "We should double the amount of security on our borders. More than ever Jack's going to be angry that we got his wolves captive. He might do something stupid like trying to invade our territory." Loki chuckled."I really hope he isn't stupid enough to try that." "Oh I wouldn't put it past him."
The beat was vibrating off the walls as one entered the admission doors; the crowd was out in force and ready to party. Viola had not been to Club Nox before. In fact, there was a handful of clubs she had been to. Many of them not nearly as wild or as popular as Club Nox that just opened in the Fifth Avenue. The drinks were flowing across the tables just as fast as the bartenders could make them, conversation was loud and people were struggling to hear over the thumping music and the dance floor is filled with sweaty bodies swaying to the beat. Viola and Lyra had dolled up for the club. As much as they could. Viola was wearing a short shimmery black strapless gown courtesy of Lyra and some high heeled pumps. Lyra had done her makeup. Giving her a bold red lipstick and a very defining and eye catching eyeliner. She was pumped and ready. They stopped at the bar first to get a drink before getting a table. Viola was careful with drinking as she didn't want it to affect her magic later o
For the first few moments his grandfather was silent. Leonardo didn’t know why he called him. They had not talked in a while, he wasn’t even sure they had something to be talking about. But the many times his grandfather had talked to him, it was to provide guidance and wisdom and sometimes to just criticize the way that Leonardo did things. Back in his days, Gino Durante was a tough man. He was a feared and revered Alpha King. Jack wouldn’t have dared try what he was doing if his grandfather was alpha king, because his entire pack would have been wiped out. But that wasn’t always the answer to everything. And in the age and time they were in, you couldn’t just wipe out an entire pack and not expect grave consequences. The Bureau of course would be there to provide and mete out punishment, then the human world would be all around poke-nosing and investigation how such a large group of people died. They simply would not be be able to get away with such things. It was nearly impossibl
Leonardo went to New York with a heavy heart. He was worried, his Grandfather was already sold on the idea of him taking a stand and joining in whatever was going on but Leonardo needed time to think about it. He even wanted to talk to Viola about it. She was going to be his wife and his Luna, it was time he started involving her in his decision making process. He had left Loki in Italy to handle the issue with Jack and his werewolves, laying out strict and precise orders on how the werewolves were to be punished and then sent back to their alpha with the scars to show for it. He had been merciful enough, but he didn't tolerate insubordination. On arriving to New York, Leonardo was welcomed by Sylvester, another member of his pack who was at the forefront of handling things and a few other elders in his pack. There was a man next to Sylvester who Leonardo had no idea who he was. He was no werewolf and he was also no member of his pack. He furrowed his eyebrows as he saw the man s
“She’s lost a lot of blood.” The doctor said as he came out of the room where he was in with Lyra. Viola sighed. “What’s going to happen now?” Viola said as she watched the doctor closely and he shrugged. “I don’t know honestly. I’ll try to get her stable and see if we can get some more blood into her system…” “We'll watch her closely for now.” Leonardo sighed. He was seated at the far end of the room, sighing. Viola had called Leonardo instead of calling 911. He had sent people over, as soon as possible while Viola tried to keep Lyra stable. Few minutes after they had arrived and took them away. Viola still held on to the vampire, insisting that Leonardo’s men take them with him despite his numerous protests. The doctor that Leonardo had, had attended to Lyra right away and Leonardo arrived shortly after, straight from a meeting too. Viola felt sorry for disturbing him. He had not started asking her questions, but Viola knew that very soon he’ll start to ask her why she
Leonardo’s condo was situated at Park Avenue. It took them approximately ten minutes to get to his apartment. His condo was at an elegant 90-story building that enriched the city’s famous skyline and showed the breathtaking views of Central Park and the Hudson River visible from the top. Viola was tired and sleepy. She had been skeptical about leaving Lyra but she was sure she was in good hands and she needed to rest after such a long and tiring day. She had dozed off a few times in the car, Leonardo had gently tapped her when they reached his apartment and gently brought her out of the car. “Your place is nice.” She said settling in a sofa and Leonardo nodded. “Thank you. Do you want something to drink?” He asked and she shook her head. “I think I’ll just go straight to bed.” She said as she looked at the sofa. It wasn’t too uncomfortable. She’d be able to sleep in it. “You’re not sleeping there. Come with me. You can sleep on my bed.” He said and Viola nodded. She didn’t
"We have to talk." Leonardo said as Viola appeared at his living room the next day. All groggy eyed tired. She had an uneventful night, her sleep plagued with nightmares and thoughts of Lyra. She would wake up frightfully and then force herself to sleep later on. "Did you have a good sleep?" Leonardo raised his head as he noticed Viola's tired eyes and her eyebags. She looked even more stressed out than she was before and he could tell she must have had a lot on her mind even while she slept. "Can we talk about it later?" "I'm so tired. And I must see Lyra this morning." Leonardo nodded. "it's very important please. I was hoping we could talk about it during breakfast. It's about the Bureau." "what about them?" Viola asked, her interests piqued. Leonardo shrugged. "so much for you to learn. They have requested for you to be part of a meeting." "What meeting? Is this about that woman?" Viola asked. "That woman I hurt? Is this about her?" Leonardo shook his head. "It's no
Viola had promised to meet and talk with Leonardo later, she had more pressing matters that morning. Although the doctor had assured her that Lyra was in much better condition, Viola still rushed to see her that morning. "So when will she wake up?" Viola asked as she peered at Lyra's unconscious body. She had still not woken up after her ordeal and the doctor had assured her that it was normal. Although she strangely felt that something might be off but she didn't push it. He was however a doctor and she wasn't. "And the vampire who bit her? Did he leave?" Viola asked trying to remember the events of the night. The doctor nodded. "Yes. He did." She nodded. "And you're sure she's going to be okay?" The doctor nodded. "Her vitals are okay, she should wake up any moment from now. Please don't fret anymore." Viola nodded. She sat with Lyra for a while, while also taking a few calls. Her grandfather called to ask how everything was going and she sent a text to Lyra's parents who
Viola had made dinner. And it was delicious. Leonardo came back home to the smell of spaghetti wafting into his nostrils. She invited him to have dinner. He was surprised at the gesture, she didn't have to and yet she did, he wondered why she had even bothered. The clinking of cutlery and the soft hum of the music playing in the background filled the air as they savored their meal. Viola stole a glance at Leonardo, who looked dashing in his suit that he had not taken off, and her heart raced. She took a deep breath and decided it was now or never. Vanessa visiting had made her think about some things and she decided that now, more than ever, they needed to clarify their relationship. They were mates, that was true, but lately it felt like something more had been blooming between the two of them. Something deeper. "Leonardo," she began hesitantly, "there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about."Leonardo, his eyes warm and attentive, put down his fork. "What is it, Viola?
Leonardo sat in his office, poring over files in preparation for an upcoming meeting. The faint sound of footsteps reached his ears, and he glanced up to find his beta, Loki, standing at the doorway. Loki's mischievous grin was as usual, but there was something different in his eyes today."Alpha, how's it going?" Loki asked, leaning casually against the doorframe. "Give me a moment... I should be done here soon and then we can head to the meeting." Loki nodded. "And how is Viola doing?""She's recovering very nicely."Leonardo answered with a smile on his face. He looked a little relieved too. "She's staying with me in the meantime, I think seeing her grandfather will annoy her too much." Loki raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Staying with you? That's good."Leonardo looked at Loki with a curious expression. "Do you have something to say? I feel like there's something on your mind...""Well... it's just that lately, you've been all about Viola. Talking about her, caring for her...
In the bedroom, Viola lay still, her chest rising and falling in the rhythm of deep exhaustion. The air was heavy with the remnants of magic, a testament to the draining spell she had just performed. Leonardo, sat by her side, quiet, unwavering and still. She had completed the spell. She had finally unbinded herself from Gwenda. Which meant, Gwenda was dead. She still did not know the full details of how she had done what she needed to do, but all she could remember was that she had found a door in her mind to Gwenda's mind and she had opened that door and she had tampered with things she shouldn't have tampered with. No part of her felt sorry, at least not yet. She couldn't tell if it was because of the exhaustion or because of something else. As moonlight streamed through the window, casting a gentle glow over Viola's face, Leonardo's eyes gleamed with pride. With a tender smile, he brushed a strand of hair from her forehead and leaned in close. His warm breath danced on her skin
“Leonardo! Leonardo!”Viola’s voice was low and raspy, her lips devoid of colour and her face pale and gaunt, she looked like she was about to faint. "I think she wants to kill me... this headache feels too much. It feels like my head is about to split into two."Viola moaned as she sat on the bedroom floor, Leonardo was by her side, holding on to her closely."I hate this so much! I feel so useless! I wish I could help!"He sounded agitated. The two of them were. It had barely been hours since they arrived from Vincenzo's place. "It should pass soon….”Viola murmured but even she wasn't sure of the words that were coming out of her mouth. The pain was so intense that she could feel it clouding her vision. "Should we try what Vincenzo said? Do you think it'll work?"Viola was too tired to speak. She couldn't even move her lips if she tried, but she nodded to Leonardo and he swung into action. Vincenzo had mentioned that the technique he was about to tell Viola was a theory his own
The pain subsided moments later, but Viola knew she had only succeeded in distracting Gwenda momentarily. Gwenda would continue her wicked spells soon enough and she would be able to do nothing to stop it. The thought alone frightened her, that one person could take advantage of her power in such away.Leonardo looked distraught, she had made him cut her with a knife and even pour salt on the wound to slow down the healing. He didn't want to do it, but she had pleaded that for her sake he should. He tried his best and she had tried not to faint and the sight of her blood. The wound was slowly healing now and she was no longer trying to stop it from healing. Stalling would only delay, Gwenda would perform her spells anyway, she needed a way out.She flipped through Eudora's diaries hoping to find some answers, but there was so many information, but not on the
"Miss Viola! Are you sure you're not making a terrible mistake?! What would happen if your grandfather comes back and doesn't see you at home?!"Alessandra pleaded but Viola ignored her, she continued dumping her clothes into the suitcase. It really was the last straw, she couldn't wait to leave. She also had to find a way to break the spell and since Gwenda was of no use to her she would have to find another way."I don't care. And what would he do? Really what would he do?!"She said as she laughed manically. She had had enough. Enough of his antics and enough of his games, if he wanted her to come back home he would have to right his wrongs."Oh please Viola! Just think it through...""I've made up my mind. I'm not coming to this house anymore. I'm leaving."She had called Leonardo, so he would be there any minute to pick her up."Viola please! Just think this through!""Think what through?! That man has had a hold on my life ever since I was born! And now, even when I'm grown he's
Leonardo dropped off Viola at her home, he wanted to be with her but he was going to have a lot of work to do and he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to watch over her properly. Viola was still very weak, her body was sore and she could barely walk on her feet, Leonardo had to carry her to her room.Gwenda rushed to her room few minutes after he left after being informed by Alessandra that Viola was sick and weak. "What happened?!"She exclaimed as she saw Viola lying on her bed weak. She had eye-bags underneath her eyes, her skin looked pale and her lips were chapped. Viola smiled weakly, few hours ago she had felt on top of the world, racing through the woods with inhuman speed and now she couldn't even lift her legs without pain shooting through her."The transformation spell... took more out of me than I expected."She said and Gwenda shook her head.“Oh dear! I’m so sorry! If I had known it would we would have found another way.”Viola shrugged.“It was the only way.”"I'll make
Leonardo watched Viola sleeping peacefully in his bed. He had opened the curtains, letting the sunlight in and hoping that it would prompt her to wake up. She had been sleeping all morning, granted, the transformation spell must have taken a lot of her energy but he didn't plan to stay in the pack house the whole day and he wanted to leave. He was meant to take her with him. She stirred slightly, then her eyes fluttered open. She turned and looked straight at him."Glad you're awake.""How are you doing?"He asked her and she nodded."I'm fine."She said as she slowly sat upright.God she felt like someone had hit her with bricks all over and she felt so sore. She didn’t imagine that she would feel so sick and exhausted. "Do you remember everything that happened?"He asked and she nodded, her fingers slightly massaging her forehead. Did she? "Yes. Yes. I think I do.""Did I pass my initiation?"She asked eagerly and Leonardo nodded."You did. The elders would be here any minute to
Leonardo and Viola arrived at the pack house late. Around seven pm. The initiation ritual was in a few minutes. They had left pretty late because Viola had been stuck on the transformation spell for hours. Hours and hours on end before Gwenda finally made a breakthrough. Even when she finally did, she didn't get time to practice the spell because Leonardo had come around to pick her up shortly after. She had no other choice but to leave with him. He didn't tell her what her ordeal would be or if he managed to make it easier for her but from the grim look on his face and the unspoken words he said, Viola could tell that it was not good. She tried to remain calm and Leonardo had offered her words of encouragement. She knew she had tried her best from her end, even with the limited time, she had pushed herself, more than she had ever done before just to make sure she had least had a fighting chance at her ordeal. When they arrived at the pack house they were led straight to an opening
