Lucy's pov;I sat by the window in my room looking out over the night sky , staring at the stars because I couldn't fall asleep with all the thoughts running through my mind. I sighed and closed my eyes. There was no point in thinking about my problems because there isn't any solution to them. When I walked to my bed to lay down, I heard noise from downstairs. I slowly peeked outside my room and saw a light on at the end of the corridor. Who's awake this late at night? I thought to myself and tried to see who it was, but they had put up their hood and were walking away as soon as they spotted me. My curiosity spiked. Why would anyone be walking down those dimly lit halls at midnight? I decided to check it out and followed them. They were still walking when I got to a corner. I hid behind some stairs while they stopped. With the height, I could say it wasn't Tyler since he's taller than this guy. Is it Daniel? I wondered but shook my head and watched. The guy turned around and I c
Lucy's pov;The class bell rang out and the students began filing into their seats. A few seconds later, there was another bell and a few more students entered. Once they were all seated, a voice from the front of the classroom called out, "Attention all students! There's an election for vice-president position and I'm sure that everyone is excited about it! The election will be held in the next few days!"At that moment, there was a knock at the door to the classroom followed by Mr Colson saying, "Sorry to interrupt your class. Could someone come here please?" He waited a minute or so before calling out, "Ms Jones, would you kindly come over here and help me out please?" I walked to him and asked, "Yes, Mr Colson? What can I do for you today?" He replied, “I want you to run to my office , collect your schedule, and then report to the auditorium, where all the students will be having their seminar today." I nodded in agreement with his request and headed to the office as he i
Lucy's pov;At the restaurant, I order water from the waitress before she leaves for another customer. Matt, "Why don't we have drinks since we're meeting after a long time?" asks with an easy grin. "I'm still not... used to the whole 'drinking ' thing," There was a silence that I didn't know how to break, I felt uncomfortable. He cleared his throat and continued, "How's your father? Is he still drinking as much as ever?" He asked it with concern, I think. I shrugged, "Not really. Because he passed away not long after when you left." The environment was silent until Matt said, "Sorry" in almost a whisper. I nodded and said, "Let's not talk about him ." We smiled at each other but didn't speak. He turned to look outside, staring blankly out of the large glass window, a clouded expression on his face, he sighed softly. "What about you? How has your life been?" I asked hesitantly. He looked back at me and laughed a sad, dry chuckle saying, "It hasn't been great. I mean, there
Tyler's POV;The alarm clock went off as it always did for the same morning hour, but this time it was different. No alarm was ringing to startle me up. I woke from an uneasy dreamless sleep in a drowsy haze and stretched himself out into the sun that shone brightly through his window. The curtains were drawn back to let the warm sunlight stream in over my bed. It took me a few seconds to remember where I was, and why the day before had been so... vivid. I got changed and came downstairs to make breakfast but I didn't feel like eating so I made a simple breakfast of toast and peanut butter instead. While I was eating the toast , Daniel took a seat across from me at the dining table asking, "Why didn't you prepare some eggs?"I stared at him as if he'd grown a second head. "What?" "Nothing." and he ate the bread in silence. After a while, he said to me as he pushed back his chair, "Do you need anything?" and I answered no. I finished my food and cleaned the dishes before go
Lucy's pov;Daniel, "The doctor said Tyler will wake up in a little bit," he said softly as he took a seat beside me in the waiting room. He lifted my chin to make me look at him directly and smiled. "Don't worry, he'll be fine. He just needs to rest to get back on his feet." I tried to smile back, but it looked more like a grimace. My eyes are still swollen and my head still hurts, so it's hard to focus properly. He wiped my cheeks saying something about how they're getting redder, even though I've been wiping them for the past three hours. The skin under my eyes is raw from crying all day long. "I'm going to tell him." He retreated his hands asking, "What are you gonna tell him?" "The reason I married him. I'm going to tell him everything.""Tell him what?" He asked again like he didn't hear what I said earlier. "That I married him to get his company's confidential information." My eyes widened as soon as I realised what I was thinking. But my mouth wouldn't shut fast enough
Lucy's pov;Matt and I arrived at the museum in no time flat, it wasn’t that far of a drive from our apartment to the museum and we had planned on spending the day there , just me, Matt, and a small amount of our own belongings. The weather was pretty nice so I figured that would be okay. But then when we got there, it turned out that there was snow everywhere, so now my plans have changed quite drastically. I mean, how could I possibly enjoy any kind of art exhibit while the snowstorm is outside? I guess you can call it an unfortunate coincidence but it definitely didn’t help me with my decision making skills. So now, as we make our way through the crowds, my heart sinks lower and lower every second that passes, until suddenly I find myself standing by Matt, completely frozen in place as I look at the giant statue before us. It’s one of those statues with all the classical sculptures in the front entrance. My eyes are fixed straight ahead of me, not looking at anything or anyone a
Lucy's pov;"What are you doing here?" Tyler asked as he was eating his breakfast on his hospital bed. The last two days had flown by in a blur and it was hard to believe the time had passed so quickly. "Wasn't it obvious? I came to see you. How are you doing , by the way?" Tyler looked around the room before turning his attention back to me. He smiled at me softly before speaking again. "Won't your friend look for you if you're not with him?" I shrugged my shoulders before replying. "He's got work, don't worry.'' I said as I tried reaching out for some fruit but ended up grabbing an empty juice box instead. "So you're here with me because he got work suddenly ?'' He nodded slightly as he stared at me, obviously waiting for me to answer his next question. I thought for a moment before responding. "If you don't like me being here, then I'll leave." When I stood up to leave, he held my hand and said, "I was just kidding , relax. Please don't leave. It's been three days sin
Lucy's pov;The aquarium was full of life. The water was dark blue and clear, with a few small fish swimming amongst the coral, and some larger animals like sharks and stingrays, occasionally swimming near the surface. "Did you really buy any tickets for today?" I asked Matt, as we made our way down the hall from the lobby. He put his hand around my shoulder saying, "Yeah! of course I did!" His laugh echoed through the room. "We're going to have so much fun." He smiled brightly at me, squeezing my shoulder gently before letting go. "Don't worry. It's going to be great.""Sure," I said, trying hard not to let it show on my face. Since I was having a lot of trouble concentrating on the conversation that was supposed to be taking place next to us, I couldn't concentrate on the situation right now. As if he had felt my tension, Matt's expression grew more concerned. I nodded and continued walking with him exploring the different attractions until finally we came across the shark tan
