What happened five years ago?

Dominic POV

I heaved a deep sigh as I entered the office that morning only to be met with a surprise from my employers. I was shocked when I saw that they all had a cake in their hand. I smiled at them and then walked into my office.

Over the weekend, I had been thinking of the reason why Charlene had acted like that In front of her brother. There was no explanation for it but I figured that it had to do with the fact that something had happened between her and her brother in the past. It was the only reason why she had a breakdown. Even though I wanted to ask her more questions, I couldn’t because I was eaten up by guilt.

I felt that I had done something wrong to her. It made me wonder if keeping the issue concerning my family’s death to myself makes me a bad person. I had no idea about that and even if I tried to change that, there was no way to tell her for now until I found out about the real cause of the accident.

I picked up my phone from my desk and dialed the number of my
