“Who called you?” asked Madam Fisher tenderly as she noticed her daughter answering a call and promptly hanging up without a word.

“It was Celine.”

“What does she want now? Why did she call you?”

The mother and daughter walked into the hotel.

“She said her car is broken and ordered me to pick her up right away.”

Caroline kept her tone flat. “Mom, I can’t possibly leave now to fetch her. I have a valid reason if she goes complaining to you.”

Looking upset, Madam Fisher said, “Got it. I will talk to her if she comes to me. She does nothing all day long. You have to work, and we’re meeting an important client now.
