“That’s right. The baby’s health is more important than gender. The York family has had sons for generations. They can’t blame you for not being able to birth a daughter. The deciding factor of a baby’s gender is the men anyway.”

“Seren,” called a familiar voice.

It was Grandma May.

Elisa and Serenity looked toward the office door. They saw her entering with Mrs. Lane carrying a few insulated lunch boxes in her hands too.

“What brings you here, Nana?”

“Grandma May.”

Serenity and Elisa stood.

When Serenity spotted the lunch boxes Mrs. Lane was holding, she figured out why Grandma May had come. They were delivering food to her.

The old lady smiled and said, “It’s noon. I don’t want you walking around because the weather’s scorching, so Cecilia and I are here to deliver some food for you to eat in the office. You can even take a rest after eating.”

After speaking, she grinned at Elisa and said, “It’s been a while, Little Fireball.”
